The conservatives and republicans even in defeat, are as disingenuous, woefully ignorant and arrogant as ever.

Jon Stewart really did nail it when he said the Right views the 2012 election results as moral failing of America. That 50% of America no longer has any morals, and have become lazy do-nothings demanding free stuff.

RR's loss had nothing to do with their message, but rather America's descent into secularism.

With that, it's time to stop subjecting myself to bullshit like this. No more getting riled up by ignorant fucktards on social media. No more hate-listening to Rush Limbaugh. They lost, society won - end of story.

As you get older, you realize that following politics closely is just not worth the heartache. Listening to AM propaganda radio shows leads to far more frustration than laughs. It's not worth it.

love the ending

But if Romney had picked Rubio as his VP, and GOP Senate candidates Akins and Mourdock had never tried to tackle abortion and rape, I have no doubt my prediction would have been "on the money."

"if all this shit happened totally differently, i would have been right on the money!"

Im not sure it was that bitter, just explained why he was wrong. He was wrong due to the fact everyone on the right mis-read voter turnout. Republicans must now deal with the reality that the voting population has changed. And must now appeal to a much wider base.

And there is this gem of truth...If the Republicans can do this (and thats a big IF), I think it would do wonders for the party.
Seriously, the real answer is to run candidates who are fiscally conservative and principled, but socially moderate and modern. The GOP needs candidates that say "Roe v. Wade is the law of the land. I will uphold it, even though my personal views are pro-liife. And I will ALWAYS support exceptions for rape, incest, and when a mother's life is in danger. Period." The issue is off the table -- forever. What's left? The economy and jobs -- winning issues for the GOP.

Fiscal conservatism does have a place in this country, and must going forward. If the Republicans can shake off the social right, and focus on effective smaller government, then that will win some elections.

That simple really.

Funny, Republicans to go back before they go foward. Way Back to before the social right took them over. Esienhower (sp, I know...too lazy to look it up) where are you? Come back.

I'd gladly vote for a moderate Republican. One grounded in reality, genuine and ready to tackle the hard problems. Absolutely. I'm just not sure any exist anymore.

Remember the primaries? Have you ever seen a bigger bunch of fucking clowns?

They are all democrats, as to why democratic primaries have had a lot more conservative candidates running. The GOP is taken hostage by the "tea party"

It's pictures of these that remind me of Churchhill's (or was it Roosevelt's?) statement that the only real difference between Stalin and Hitler was the size of their mustaches.

And while that's all kinds of political and such, I only really bring it up as a means of saying that, whatever else, Stalin had a really, really nice mustache.

Man kills self over Obama victory

CHICAGO (MarketWatch) -- A Florida man who had warned that he was "not going to be around" if President Barack Obama was re-elected apparently killed himself, the Miami Herald reported Wednesday. According to what his partner, Michael Cossey, told police, Henry Hamilton was "very upset about the election results." He was found dead two days after the election with an obscenity against Obama scrawled on his wall and empty prescription drug bottles nearby, the newspaper noted. A police spokeswoman told the Herald that while a cause of death is pending, "there's absolutely no evidence of foul play." Hamilton owned a tanning salon in Key West.

So a gay man that owned a tanning salon in Key West was upset Obama got re-elected? That must have been a lot of self-hate.

just proves that the people over reacting to this event are CRAZY people anyway

The whole story tells more. The man was very troubled. Even before the election. He had money, but was haunted by a lot of things. Obama being re-elected serves as his breaking point, even though it was a very fragile breaking point from the beginning.

Obviously not wanting to stereotype, but wouldn't being gay *in general* more closely associate him with the democratic party than republicans?

I remember someone posted earlier why a homosexual would be more inclined to vote Romney than Obama, so I guess he's one of those who fitted into one of those categories (and quite strongly too, obviously).

There are some really, really deranged right-wing gays out there. See: GayPatriot, much of GOProud's membership, Kevin DuJan (whose MSNBC liveblog was posted a few pages back).

The best thing from this link is this

Capitalism has a truly great marketing benefit over communism in that when people starve under communism it is the state's fault; but when people starve under capitalists, they are lazy bums who don't want to find employment.

Don't you understand ? HE WANTS TO EXPAND MARKETS FOR AGRICULTURE FOR FUCK'S SAKE P/LPV,; §MSDLV?LMSOCIALISM

By piling on trillions in unnecessary agri-business subsidies, sure. Isn't this what Romney would have done anyways? I'm not sure what their complaint is.

Hail, peons, for I have come as ambassador from the great and bountiful Blueberry Butt Explosion
Lol, the guy complains about taxes then turns around and wants to move up here. I guess he never had a look at the taxes we Canadians pay.

That's because he's an idiot that has no idea what occurs outside of America's borders.

To be fair, below a certain income people in Canada do often pay less taxes. Depending on where in each respective country, obviously, due to state/provincial taxes.

Canada's tax system is generally more progressive.

Obama is basically a center right President a la Clinton, but watching all these reactions to his re-election leaves me flabbergasted. Was it this bad with the last two term Democratic, Clinton?

I know Fox News wasn't around, but the radio shows were and they weren't fan of Clinton. The reactions and bitter tears just seem crazier this time around.

I can understand criticizing the man of his policies--civil liberties, aggressive justice department, drones, etc. But this is usually not the subject of the stuff we see online and in news media. It's usually irrational and hate filled.

Herndon!? The fuck? Shit like that doesn't happen in Herndon. I was expecting backwoods red-state country, not D.C. suburbs.

EDIT:
That was back in September. And the only source for him killing himself over Obama's reelection is the Daily Mail..............

OK for some reason that makes me feel better. Generic crazy, not right-wing crazy. A horrible tragedy in any case.

Suffice it to say the difference is skin deep.

Jesse Helms warned Clinton not to show his face in his state.
