The show was good (for the VGAs), the announcements were shit (namely in that there weren't enough of them).

He said things that never happened during the show, or so people think. Either way, people are mad and Geoff, being a PR guy who promotes things, got the word out and had many people watching the show.
End result? Almost 250 edits in a few hours of the Wiki page.

As soon as I heard the music for HL2. I was about to jizz all over the place when the team came out. I thought for sure. HL3. I knew I was in a dream in that moment. But nothing else mattered in the world to me.

My interest cycle has been one of extremes. I started out not giving even the slightest shit, until around when Episode 3 was released and it was getting insane hype and GOTY buzz from all over. Then I decided I'd play it when all the episodes were available, so pretty much blacked myself out completely.

I mean I can understand the whole old-school comment but that was the banner that press wore when discussing Dark Souls/ demon Souls.
I mean most of the trailers were in real time so Geoff is safe in that regard.
Geoff is the hype man for his show and the Spike TV; I am more shocked that he didn't over embellish what they had to show.
Lemme tell you about You Tube, where the player doesn't suck ass.

I watched the VGA's like three years in a row, but this year I just gave up. Every single time it's a disappointment in every facet: the games they nominate, the games that win, the "script," the "cameos," the hosts, the amount of product placement, the new games announced except for maybe like one which I can just catch online later that night anyways, etc.

The show was a huge improvement this year. They seemed to treat the subject with some respect for once. There were like two non game related musical performances but everything else had to do with games. The live game music performances were a little boring but at least they were classy. The Gamestop commerical-esque skits were tolerable and sometimes entertaining. They didn't force us to listen to Snoop Lion do reggae. Actually, I think the nonstop fellating of Sam Jackson's ego was the only real downside for me.
Overall, I think they did a much better job portraying gaming to the general public.

Sam Jackson mode in all next gen games.
Just watched on Xbox Live, and what a waste of time. Nothing that surprising or mind blown and I don't even know who won 90% of the awards. What were the 5 unannounced games anyway? I only counted Dark Souls 2 and Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes. Was there something else I was missing? Though I have to say, it was weird to see PlayStation commercials on Xbox.
