Has anyone ever tried playing games where you can turn the HUD off in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio? It's something different.

Planetside 2's motion blur is soooo good.

I've wasted an absurd amount of time aiming down the sight for no reason just to move the aimer back and forth really quickly just to watch the fluorescent dot blur.

How are you taking hi-res screenshots in PS2 ColaN? The in game screenshot button never works for me.

I use that Aspect Ratio every now and then, but I always got tired of the bars, I'd need a screen like that....

Or three....

Yes, use custom display drivers and change your resolution in windows to match the one you want to use ingame before starting the game.
(worked for every game I own except Crysis Warhead which gives me messed up gamma for some reason, works in Crysis and Crysis 2 without a Problem)

sorry if this is a stupid question, but how do I use custom display drivers? and which ones?

Just played at 1920 x 817....

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!>!<!<!>?!?!?!?

Stick GIFs in the GIF thread brethren.

I always look at the Lego games and think "man, what a waste of a great engine". I mean, the games a fun, but they've become really repetitive and you pretty much know exactly what you are getting every year.

No it is not and it is a pain.

First download DownSamplingGui_0.6, create a system restore point, open downsample.exe and click "erstellen".
Now click "INF erstellen" (locatet under "extras") and choose "benutzerdefiniert", insert your desired max. resolution (alternatively you can choose one of the presetzs in your aspect ratio).
Here is a guide on how to install those custom drivers you just created: guide
When you are using Windows 8 you will also have to enable "Test mode" to be able to install unsigned drivers.

It is more of the same, and repetitive. And the lack of online coop is just becoming offensive now! But I love how closely the game follows the films, more so than I've seen in any of the previous LEGO games I've played - a big factor in why I really enjoyed working my way through the story chapters.

I use Fraps, it's always the easiest solution, at least for me.

The settings are mostly on ultra (changed through the .ini file) and some on high (the max settings in the regular game options), with shadows set to medium (the difference is minimal and not worth the framerate loss).

Yeap! I've done this before but I totally forgot about it, it looks great in screenshots :)!

There is a Phillips TV that has that aspect ratio I think. Would be cool to have that but of course it's probably overpriced by a factor of 100.

edit :

Tried some Bioshock with 2.35:1

I need to figure out how to do stuff in PS2. Last time I played I was on foot going towards something that looked like it was under attack on the map and I stopped after 10 minutes of not seeing another person. But it looks so fun.

Hawken - Holy shit this game... so this is what next game looks/feels like.

Also, god I miss well-optimized pc games, this just feels surreal - everything on max, physX on, ~4k rendering resolution shit flying everywhere mechs all over my ass AND I have a 30 fps lock on ONE decently OCed 670. Compare that to your average multiplatform game where I get 40 fps with all settings max at 1920x1080...

I rarely spam this much but I'm using my monthly "post 10 pics in a row get out of jail free"-card now.
