The thread was worth it for that amazing GIF. I never finished this game on 3DS, but I'll happily play it again, probably on Wii U. The assets were already amazing on the handheld so I imagine this will look quite nice in HD.

50 is a bit much, how long is the game campaign? is it as long as RE5?
I've heard it's pretty short as it was designed for handhelds and were supposed to give you that "bite-sized" experience. Hopefully someone in this thread could clear that up though.

Though Raid Mode is what was designed for replayability and length, which they are adding things to it.

Edit: Ah ok, someone clarified. Well, the longer the better.

I don't know if it's better than RE4 but I do feel it's pretty close.

Gotta wonder if the haters have actually tried the game though. Seems like RE6 syndrome all over again ;_;

Most of the criticism existed way before RE6 came out, so I'm afraid it has nothing to do. In fact, RE6 being so bad in the end benefited Revelations, as most of his defenders use the "hey, it's way better than 5 and 6" argument, like if it was a hard task to accomplish or something.

Btw, did anyone really cared about Revelations plot? I thought it was ridiculous at best.

It's sits pretty comfortably between RE4 and RE5 for length.

Does it have good replayability? I spend hours on RE5 beating the campaing as both Chris and Sheva, multiple difficulties, and finding treasure to unlock new weapons, and maxing their levels so I can get unlimited Ammo.

If this game has that, then I might as well bite the bullet.

That's every RE story in a nutshell.

That said, the story is pretty fucking bad in this game.

Not only is the PC version of Revelations good news, but interesting news too; is Capcom JP actually porting this themselves?

If this is QLOC, gatdayum; wouldn't be bad news at all, but if so, they are absolutely slammed with Capcom porting work. SFxT patches/2013, DmC patches/Vergil DLC, then this?

A lot of the replay will come in from doing the achievements, as they all unlock something that you can use in the game, as well as NG+, including certain series staples like the Infinite Rocket Launcher. Most of your time will definitely be spent in Raid Mode, as that has the lion's share of the game's content.

Revelations is about 8-9 hours, i think RE5 took me first time about 10 first playthrough
YMMV. I think Revelations is actually longer. Took me 13 hours as opposed to 8-ish for RE5. Crazy I know.

Regardless of which is longer, Revelations is a full-fledged game. It could easily have been a numbered title (other than the fact that it's a side story).

I think I'll go Wii U as long as they have play exclusively on the gamepad support.

I find the idea of playing a console port of a handheld game on the screen of a handheld controller to be somewhat amusing. I'd be disappointed if we couldn't since I don't own a Circle Pad Pro.

Haha, that part was so scaring!

Btw, happy for this port, more people must play this game. But with this price point they won't go so far. I'd accept 30$. I mean, the game is really good as quality-wise and as for production values might be easily a home console game, but people should be quite burnt over RE on console so I don't see how Revelations could succeed.

I'd say it's a shade longer than RE5, and personally I found more value in raid mode than Mercs, and I'm a big fan of mercs too actually. and yes, the story is crazy nonsense. of course it is. it's a Resident Evil sequel.

When I last saw this the headline only said 360 - pretty excited to see it's coming to PC. The 3DS demo seemed pretty good but I sold my system like a few days before the game actually came out :/. Glad I waited, though, since playing in HD with AA and a gamepad will be great. Between this and the upcoming port of 6, I look forward to a double dosage of zombie murder this spring.

MAAAAYYYYY...DaaaAAAaaaaaaAAaaYYYYyyyyYY!!!!!!!!!!

The sound during that part was so fucked up, you could hear him from about 2 rooms away as if he was just around the corner.

Or is this a surround/stereo issue or whatevs? I don't know, it creeped me out, but the sound levels were enough to take me out of the experience.

Sounds good.

I played the 3DS demo and I liked what I played. Played very RE4 like with some new adjustments for fluidity. I think I'll play it there though for the sake of having some 3DS games.

The story is passable, but is tediously over-complicated with a bunch of silly ideas. Which is basically every BIO story. They're written well but rarely translate into video game form without some loss of cohesion or some stupid bastard having a shitty idea he wants to throw in.

It's actually not a side-story. It's a main game, the developer's compared it to CODE:Veronica. Having a number in the title means pretty much fuck all in this series.

Wow at that price. You'd think they'd release it as a budge title.

Anyway, I'm in there. Should be fun to play compared to the turd that is Bio6.

Will wait for the impression of those generous people who double tip to see if the 3D is worth purchasing the [cheaper] 3DS version, or that I should go with the PC.

FUCK YES!

Now I wonder if RE: R will outsell RE6 on consoles across the board.
Probably not, I'm sure people who haven't played/heard of how good Revelations is might be burned out by 6. Not saying that there weren't people who enjoyed it, but there definitely were a lot of people who didn't.

I would say it is merely impossible; spin-offs rarely sell better than main entries; and now we are comparing a more traditional RE experience with the cinematic-action packed RE 6.

I doubt Capcom is expecting amazing sales, and I doubt it would need them; the hard work is already done.

A bit too expensive for me as I have it. So I will wait but I am very excited for the new Raid mode add ons. Raid mode is the reason to play this game, it is better than the campaign.
