You know what they should have done was a combo pack of Recelations With Mercenaries 3D.

That would be worth 50 in my book.

Yeah, Deadly Silence was a completely out-of-nowhere announcement, and was released soon after it was announced. Truly, a port that no one was asking for!

It was actually pretty nice though, loved having the ability to skip the door cutscenes, made playthroughs a breeze.

It actually features some big changes, such as a vastly streamlined inventory system (ammo no longer takes up slots) and an EX difficulty that is essentially Mercenaries Turbo.
Ammo takes no slots? I dont know if I love or hate that. You could carry alot of ammo in RE5M but in RE6 it's horrible + enemies don't drop anything but ammo or skill points.

Yes, and this is why it's so good. (co-op) Mercenaries was the best thing that came out of RE5 :p

I couldn't get into RE5 Mercs =/ I really tried but the lack of mobility for a mode like that was so off putting to me. I've seen videos of those really good players make it work despite it, but I could never come close to that. RE6 controls for RE5 mercenaries would've been perfect for me.

I bet the PS3 version will have remote play, either on day 1 or patched on a future date. That should cover us wretched Vita owners.
I would be surprised if the game supports Vita remote play, but i think it sounds like a cool idea at least :)

Personally i dont see a lack of a Vita version as much of a big deal. The game already excist on a handheld, so i wonder how much it would sell on another handheld. How many other handheld games have been ported over to other handhelds by the way, and how much have they sold? Are there any examples on this? I'm not thinking about iOS/Android ports, but full dedicated handheld games (like Final Fantasy 3 remake from DS to PSP). If this was a brand new game and basically every system got a version except the Vita, it would be something else in my opinion (now i guess the arugement can be "if it cant get a port, why would it get a new game?", but i still see it as two different situations between a port and a new game).

There is a limit to the ammo that you can carry, but the ammo is tied to the weapon itself, which is what takes up a slot. You have five slots for a character; up to three of them are taken up by the character's weapon loadout (which is fixed, but you can mix and match character loadouts, including a bonus one that isn't associated with any of them), another one for herbs, and the last one is the explosive slot, which changes from stage to stage. There is basically no inventory management to speak of, so it keeps the pace quick. Another change I forgot to mention is that there are no pick up animations, so you can run right over ammo or herbs, pick them up, and not have to come to a halt.

RE0 and REmake both managed to ship more than a million for the GC though. The Nintendo home console audience likes them some good old Resident Evil. Don't know about the Dreamcast, but lets not forget that those were cheaper times as well.

1 was a complete remake with extremely high production values and the other was a completely new entry to the series with similar production values. At 1 million, it would be considered disappointing for Capcom especially when the earlier entries were selling 3-4 million easy on the PS1. Both REmake and RE0 would have sold much more on PS2 if everyone keeps on harping about sales potential.

well glad its finally announced :p (assumed from the achievements thread a while back)

got it day 1 on the 3DS and loved it, really great, dat boat and haha at that im on a boat gif.

"helllllllllpppppppppppppp me" B^) dat part, might double dip for the PS3 or Xbox 360, after a price drop though.

From the PS Blog, Capcom's product manager gives the official "explanation" as to the absence of a Vita version:

Mike Luan said:
Hey Stargazr, when we were developing Revelations for new platforms we really wanted to hone in on the experience you get with a large format screen, surround sound, etc. This type of setup really helps players get sucked into the horror vibe and enjoy the game to its fullest extent.

5. 3DS and PS-vita infrastructure let alone developing games for them are extremely different beasts. Even just the screens as you mention are completely different resolutions/functions. Take a look at the top comment for my full Vita response.

Not so much selective as it is I’ve answered a lot of them already :) I completely understand the flux of Vita inquiries (I’m a happy Vita owner myself), but please see the 1st comment for my full response.

Reminds me a bit of KojiPro and Crystal Dynamics' nonsensical excuses for their games not coming to Wii U, probably because the actual reason (they don't believe it would sell enough to justify porting costs) is more or less the same.

PC!?!?! WIIU!?!? I already have this on 3DS... Damn... I think ill be triple dipping.

I like how two days after I bought the 3DS copy rumors popped for a console release. I don't really mind though. Once I get a 3DS if I like it enough I could see myself getting a retail copy for PS3 once it hits ~$20. That is what I waited the 3DS copy to drop to.

Will double dip for Wii U version, retail makes me even happier!

Great game hope everyone who hasn't experienced it yet on 3DS does now!

Great, an excellent Resident Evil game on consoles for the first time since RE4. Also if the visuals are upgraded enough then the price is well worth it.

here as well if you guys have questions/etc
Cool, thanks ^_^
Well my main concerns/questions are
(sorry bro ^^)
:

-why no Vita version? I'd get it in addition to the PS3 version.
-Is it going to support Move? I'd love it
-How about Mercenaries 3D as DLC?

But I saw them more or lees replied there.
Other than that, everything looks great. Nice extras, released in all home platforms at the same time, and looks promising graphically.

There are so few Wii U games I want right now that I might get this. Kinda hate the idea of paying $20 more then I did for the original 3DS version though. It's gonna come down to the extras and the controls for me in the end.

Glad I did hold off on the 3DS game. I will now play this baby on my sweet sweet TV!

Isn't this one still on the RE4 model than RE5?

I don't want RE5-6 forced coop.

Actually decided I'm gonna wait for a price drop now...oh well Capcom, no moneys for you (except for MH3U, you got me by the balls on that one Capcom)

It's in-between. You have a partner but they're not much of a help nor a hindrance, so it's kind of like being alone. And there are parts where you are separated.

So basically, the game and its scenarios are designed for single player. Co-op is left for Raid Mode.

I was refraining from buying the 3ds version because we knew this was coming, but I might go for that version in the end considering dat pricing on Unveiled Edition...

I don't even care, I will buy this at $60 for Hunk and dat Jill ass. On PC.

Day one, Capcom, you can have my hard-earned disposable income.

I'm currently playing through this on 3DS. I don't whether I should continue or just wait for this.

They really did a fantastic job with Jill's buttocks on the 3DS version
but I'm wondering if the added bonus of more polygons make a difference.
Higher resolution always helps to get a clearer picture though.
