Miyamoto talked about the possibility of Retro Studios making the Wii U Zelda completely in-house.

He said he would "probably have to move to Texas" to make it happen. But he at least acknowledges this kind of stuff.

He is actually basically saying it would be something out of the question at the moment. The game is staying in Japan perimeter, whether it be in-house, or close proximity collaboration.

Retro Studios and Vigil Games are both situated in Austin, Texas. I assume Nintendo could have the two developers collaborate and help each other on their projects.

Nintendo has some philosophical ideologies about purchasing developers, especially Western ones lately. They just do long-term first party contracts it seems. But I doubt Vigil is on their radar.

Might as well add in my realistic predictions:

  • Formal Wii U Virtual Console announcement, upgrade your old VC titles to GamePad support for $1.99 each
  • Mention of GCN titles but no information yet
[*]A promise by Iwata for "a more robust BC service" this time around
  • Google Maps Street View release date
  • Panoramic View release date
  • Details on first major Wii U firmware update
  • One somewhat-major game revealed, something like Monolith or the rumored Yoshi game, not Retro/Mario U/Smash 4
[*]One major game reveal to satiate Nintendo investors, like Wii Sports U
  • A quick reminder of previously announced games coming in Q2

I'm thinking something a "little" more substantial. It's hard for me to just completely write off the impending Nintendo investor catastrophe.

I'm expecting a doofy announcement of Resident Evil: Revelaitons.

And then afterwards, they'll announce Resident Evil 5 is coming to 360.

Eeeh....not in favor of Zelda just being handed around. Either Retro exclusively or let Nintendo continue

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
Vigil lost most of their experienced, talented, senior staff during the Darksiders II/THQ dramas. There wouldn't be much value in buying them, especially since whatever remains does nothing Nintendo is already able to do well enough.

Retro during a Zelda spin-off could be neat if Nintendo doesn't think it'd work out giving them a mainline title. Something like playing as Ganondorf as a young adult before OoT's events or that rumored Sheik idea they may have had could both be a breath of fresh air for the franchise and a chance to get them to spread their wings more.

I would be just happy if I could transfer my console VC games to the 3DS

I hope they announce WarioWare U and Rhythm Heaven

Of course. But he literally did say “The possibility of Retro Studios making a new Zelda with a good proposal isn’t a farfetched idea at all and could be possible.” Even if he then goes on to say that Zelda would have to be a collaboration...it's interesting that he considers Retro Studios worthy of making an in-house title.

All I'm saying is that Miyamoto is thinking about this kind of stuff.

Wii U VC is actually an add-on that connects to the mysterious yellow port.

You mean the power port? Lol

I still would like to see a Zelda side game starring Ganon and maybe his lineage throughout the multiple timelines lol

I just feel since Wind Waker made him surprisingly 'deep' for a Nintendo game you could make an interesting game starring him as the lone male Gerudo in a barren and shitty desert region set before OoT. Those Hyrulians are fucking dicks man.

As much as I'd love to play through Uprising again, I think I'll stick to fusing a new weapon and playing through the original.
