Ni No Kuni Collector's Edition for EU/NA [failure level well beyond critical mass]

Was able to track mine by reference on the UPS site (I forget sometimes that you can do that... I did that for some Apple stuff at one time, too). Anyway, I'm at "Order Processed: Ready for UPS" according to UPS, and it actually also gave me a scheduled delivery date (Monday, since I did 3-day shipping). Here's hoping...
 
Got the email, but it didn't have a tracking number. Got the reference number trick to work, shows it coming this Friday.

Hopefully the box is in good shape when it comes in.

EDIT: Also getting the $2 or so in rebates from Amazon due to the guide price drop before release.

This thing has been such a mess. Lack of communication, confusion everywhere and now I have to brace myself for a ridiculous import fee.

I just called the number provided and talked to Ed. I asked when my order is supposed to ship since I paid for next day service and was charged yesterday. He said it usually takes 24-48hrs for "processing" but it looked like my order should actually still ship today. I asked where this shipment is coming from and if they are still working since it's 9:30 eastern he said it ships from Indiana but was sure I would get it tomorrow. I don't see how I get no reference to work on UPS and my order in their system still says in process. Maybe DR is out on the tarmac holding the plan for one last load of Wizard Editions for all of us!!!

Ironic that I did 2-day, but you'll probably be getting it before me :p

They seem to be sending out the emails very slowly. Some people got it earlier this afternoon... others got it very recently like just now.

(I ordered back in July btw and only got my email about an hour ago)

If you tried to flip your WE via your Amazon seller account (if you have one) you can't sell any copy of Ni No Kuni on Amazon right now.. the error message appears

Furthermore, It looks like Amazon has run out of copies of the standard edition of the game, if you order a copy it won't be shipped out until 1 to 3 weeks (and this is just the normal edition)

Not much of a profit, and certainly not worth the effort of reselling it.

Still, it's a hassle I'd rather not go through, and I don't want to get screwed over buy a buyer on eBay.

I think the Wizard Edition might be as valuable as that one MGS collector's edition. I think it was the second game with an extremely rare edition that is sold second-hand for an extremely high price. Anyway, if it's like that, then the WE could get even more valuable sealed over time.

I wouldn't want to deal with the hassle of selling and shipping a 3lb box around. I don't really care about reselling or keeping things sealed for collector purposes or whatever.

$55 (for me based on thefinalcost.com) isn't a huge amount of money. It feels really bad that I am basically paying $100 more than regular for a CE that will come way late. But I'll just take this as a harsh $55 lesson on trusting American merchants to care about international customers.

Namco Bandai/Digital River were asked about who they were shipping with (with no response) and were advised to please not use UPS. But they did it anyway. So... they obviously just don't care.

Other people in Canada may want to look at trying to clear the package with customs themselves.

My English isn't very good (don't let my NeoGAF posting fool you) and I don't have a way to get to the closest CBSA office so it's not an option for me. But maybe others can save themselves from being robbed by UPS this way. Good luck Canadians.

Guess there's some varying speeds of shipping going on...

Where can I go to check the order status? Preordered back in August. 'Check Invoice' page gives me an error.

Understandable I was about to sell my iphone 5 on there but nervous as hell with something over $100. Ebay buyers can be assholes.

Well just got off the phone with Namco, they said they are still processing orders and I have yet to receive a charge on my CC or an e-mail, so hoping to get something tomorrow.

edit: Can't even buy the game, the standard edition is sold out on the namco store..

I shipped something via UPS about a month ago to a location in the same state as me (CA)... it arrived the next morning and I shipped it Ground. In most cases though, Ground isn't really next day.

Uh, ok? No shit ground can be the next day, the post office works the same way... It's not the fastest nor is it expected to be next day like that poster assumed.

I just got the cancellation myself. I ordered 5mins after this went up. Fuck Digital Rivers they are a complete piece of shit company.

Some of you guys are getting worked up over nothing. UPS also doesn't update their tracking for packages shipped today until late tonight or early tomorrow. Digital River sucks but some of the stuff in this thread is ridiculous.

Wait why are you attacking me? I'm just talking with you guys ;__; I'm waiting just as much as everyone else

For those of you who got cancelled orders: what form of payment did you use?

Credit card. Paypal wouldn't work. There's still a pending charge on my card though. And I seriously ordered within a couple of minutes of it going up.

Maybe this restock was just a lie/publicity stunt?

My first order has been shipped (ordered 1/9/2012), my second order which I made when they had the restock a couple of days ago has been cancelled even if I ordered during the first 5 minutes of the sale.

Well, I just received my cancellation email from Namco. They oversold.

How did they oversell that fast...? You could order for like 2-3 hours before it was taken down...

I guess it must have been limited as in "there are only 5 copies" limited?

Well I just got the cancellation e-mail after talking to a rep and her saying that it would ship soon. Well fuck that, I'm calling these fuckers up again.
 
Just got an email saying it was cancelled. Fucking through with Namco. They put a hold on my account for that order so I better see that hold taken off other wise They better do something for me, and real good. Too too done. Never again. worst customer experience I've ever had.
 
Just got the email as well and ordered at 1:03 EST when the restock happened. I bought the regular edition with steelcase and guide book from Gamestop on release day, but wanted to have this special edition as a collectors item. Not happy at all.

Mine got cancelled too, I ordered about 20 minutes after they reopened orders. I wonder how many they really had if people who ordered 5 minutes afterwards got cancelled as well...

I cancelled my Amazon preorder for this and now Amazon is out of stock. I'm kinda pissed right now...
