Watching this thing on Netflix Redbull Rampage, which is these bikes on top this big ass hill ride down it doing stunts and what not. Some are crashing, all fucking obviously concussed. The staff doctors are like if they can walk away I'll let them continue. Its funny how concussions are treated, hell i remember watching this segment where a bullrider said he had at the very least 40 concussion. Do hockey players get a lot of concussions that are ignored as well? /endramblingpostsequence

There was sort of a crisis during last season with all the violent collisions that left players unconscious.

Nfl turning point is great. Flacco seems pretty laid back and a good teammate. Same for John Harbaugh, seems like the complete opposite of Jim in terms of temperament.

Weather was nice so I fired up the grill! Steak kabobs on the left gulf shrimp kabobs on the right. Marinated the meat and veggies overnight in a honey teriyaki sauce.

So the weather is nice in Houston.....in January. Not looking forward to the start of summer in early March.

I'm not opposed to trading Revis, our secondary was fine without him and our salary cap situation is fucking awful, not to mention Revis could possibly walk away for nothing after next season (also barring another Revis holdout).

Trading Revis would clear up cap room, give us some value and sign some players that we do need.

The thing is hockey also has fist fighting. Read some of these. All of the names mentioned below went back in after suffering their concussions. Many had countless concussion that went undiagnosed throughout their entire career beginning in youth hockey. Boogaard OD'd on pain killers in alcohol.

Derek Boogaard: Died at the Age of 28. I recommend you read this article.

Quarterback Alex Smith came one play or so away from directing the 49ers to the Super Bowl last season. This season, they reached the big game with Smith playing a complementary role.

“I would be lying if I said it wasn’t a little bittersweet,” Smith said Wednesday. “Yeah, I want to be out there. It’s what you work for coming into the season. That was the mindset. That was the goal for me.”

Smith fell short of his goal as a result of a concussion he suffered against the St. Louis Rams in the ninth regular-season game. Coach Jim Harbaugh opted to stick with second-year player Colin Kaepernick once Smith recovered well enough to resume playing.

If Smith is bitter about how things played out, he isn’t letting on. In keeping with his professional approach, he is going about his business as the backup and supporting Kaepernick and his teammates.

“It’s the nature of sports,” Smith said. “He got an opportunity, stepped up and made the most of it. That’s the deal. That’s how I got my start in college. It was no different. The guy in front of me got hurt. That’s how I got my first start. It’s just the nature of team sports.”

Smith keeps things in perspective by viewing things through the lens of overall perspective.

“It is a team sport and these are my teammates,” Smith said. “You go through so much together, especially these guys who have been here for a chunk of time. If you can’t be happy, there’s something wrong with you.”

As for Kaepernick, Smith said he isn’t surprised by how well he has played since he took the reins. He is impressed by just about everything Kaepernick does.

“No question, out there you see the playmaking ability on the practice field,” Smith said. “For sure. You saw it in preseason. The thing I’m shocked by is the consistency. He hasn’t done the thing that a lot of quarterbacks do, which is lose the game for a team. He’s done a great job of preparing.”

That's still not a flag. At least it shouldn't be. It's Blady, though, so it'd probably result in a $1,000,000 fine and the Bills moving to Toronto.

"Shouldn't be" doesn't matter anymore. There was a play a few years ago when Antonio Pierce shoved Michael Vick as he was heading out of bounds. Vick was still in play when he got pushed, but Pierce still got a late hit on the QB penalty flag. The NFL then reviewed the tape, which showed Vick wasn't out of bounds yet when he got pushed, and fined Pierce however many thousands of dollars on top of the penalty.

I don't see how there can be hard feelings over that. It would have been a shame if Nantz got stood up on his wedding day. Plus, somebody had to give the bride away.
