Did you play Reach? It was visually outstanding. Halo 3 was harshly criticised, too, because people didn't take the scale of environments and the sandbox into account.

i own reach. best looking bungie halo sure but it's not a great looking game.

Garry from Gamebreaker, who has more ties to the PC MMO industry than IGN etc.. does, still thinks it may come to PC. A friend of his as Blizzard doesn't think they are dumb enough to release a game like this and ignore the millions of sales they could get on PC. Not to mention it can be a test bed on improving graphics/ai/engine for upcoming console releases.

Interesting art. I'm hoping the timing of the introduction of this new IP doesn't negatively impact it's overall quality. Releasing during the transition of a new generation has me a little concerned. I hope they are given the resources to handle it well.

Bungie have awakened The Blue Ninja.

Fair enough, I thought it was in the top three most visually impressive console shooters I've played this generation, when I consider the whole package.

Okay I've updated the title.

I'll be gone for an hour or two, and I'll be going through the posts after mine to see if people can follow the title.

Surprised to see it has no subscription. I don't really follow the news so maybe that was always known but I thought it was going to be Activision's new WoW.

I'll just repeat what I've said elsewhere.

Bungie this is my money. *Holds up wad of cash* TAKE IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That concept art is amazing. Bungie always has just insanely awesome concept art. I really can't wait to see the game in action now.

I'm not. It's Bungie. They tend to like for as many to play their games as can and a subscription kind of stops many from playing them.

Man, the art all looks so great. Love the visual style.

I'm very rarely into anything multiplayer, but I do enjoy MMO's (or at least I enjoy WoW) and I got super addicted to Planetside back in the day. Can see myself getting really into this if it's anything like that.

edit: hmm, sounds like this might not really be like Planbetside. Either way, I'm hyped.

Sounds great, and it definitely feels like a natural progression for Bungie. Can't wait for the reveal in a few hours. Hopefully we see something close to gameplay.

I am excited by the prospect of Dark Souls being an influence on more games, certainly in asymmetrical multiplayer crossing over with single-player modes. Its my ideal combination of experiences. Solo if I wish, seamless multi and co-op if I wish.

I never liked a single Halo game, but I've had grudging respect for the flow of the games. I would be very interested if this has any such multi elements.

Looks amazing! Don't know if it was posted, but from the ARG a mp3 clip was found. Not sure if a teaser for Marty's work on the soundtrack?

Just noticed they're playing songs from the Halo 4 soundtrack during the video lol

Concept art looks great. I'm ready for more.

Even if it's MMOish, you would be crazy to charge subs for anything these days. Especially a mulitplayer game that requires a healthy population.

You could charge for parts of it. Maybe that's what they'll do? I thinking something like CoD Elite.

I agree that a sub is pretty much a non-starter nowadays.

I thinking something like CoD Elite.

I seriously hope that region locks aren't placed for certain areas of the world. I understand DLC expansions will need it, but for the actual game itself, not a fan.

I wonder if it'll have space battles. Reach had space battles. Aren't there a few guys from FASA at Bungie? (Sage was I think) Crimson Skies was the shit on OG Xbox.

Oh boy, imagine if you were fighting on the ground for some city and you could see people in spaceships having dogfights miles above.

Wouldn't be surprised.

Bungie were very proud of that set piece in Reach, and rightly so, and they've reiterated that there are many things that they learnt from ODST and Reach that we don't realise yet. I'd imagine the hub world from ODST will make it into Destiny's core, and considering the space rhetoric, and the mention of interplanetary travel, space battles make complete sense.

Oh I have no doubt we'll have space battles. I really do think the Saber sections in Reach were a test bed for Bungie. I expect to see them back in this game and expanded upon. That would be perfect for traveling between planets in the game.

Its one of my favorite parts of Reach. In fact Reach is my favorite Halo game ( Havent played 4 yet) because of its variety of gameplay. Large scale batle/snipermission/space mission ect

Reach is absolutely my favourite Halo campaign, too. In fact if Reach launched with a substantial map pack for Halo 3, rather than an unsavoury multiplayer mode I'd probably regard it as my favourite Halo full stop.
