Looks like JP3D may actually get some toys!

Engadget article said it was only gonna be in theaters for a week.

After picking up that Sony 3D monitor on black friday, I think I'm legally obligated to buy this :lol

I'm getting a Panasonic 3D TV today. Now I can watch it all the time when the Blu Ray comes out in 3D. Good too, since It's only out for a week, I am hoping to see it at least 2-3 times in theaters.

Fav movie ever made.

Fuck yes, JP toys made up the majority of my toy collection as a kid, might pick some up.

Good news, seems a TRU exclusive line is on its way soon. This is in the Toys R Us item search system, and is part of the upcoming March 10 planogram/floorplan:

Dino battler 297221 $7.99
Dino tracker 272188 $10.99
Growler 295277 $19.99
Battle pack 295334 $29.99

Now the bad news- The first 3 are most likely repaints or flat out releases of the JP2009 line which consisted of repaints from JP3. The Battle Pack is a new sku and pricepoint though, so that can be anything.

Gary Rydstrom is remastering the sound for the 3D re-release.

You collaborate with Spielberg on one project after another, and they're all so different, it must be like working with a lot of different directors, stylistically, with the benefit of not having to get to know so many new ones.

In the last few weeks, I also was working on a remastering of "Jurassic Park," because they're re-releasing that in 3D. And I worked on that 20 years ago, so the fact that Steven Spielberg will make both "Jurassic Park" and "Lincoln" in his career is pretty amazing.
So he's a good guy for someone like me to work with, because he doesn't make the same movie over and over again.

Are you doing a different mix for "Jurassic Park"?

No. My philosophy with old sound work is, we can update it, make it a little bit bigger, more dynamic, do a little more panning. But the content of the sound mix is the same.
We did update for today's technology, using somewhat the excuse that 3D pushes that movie into a different territory. Maybe it's a little more spatial and intense, but it's not a different mix at all, just enhanced.
But boy, it was fun to go back and revisit. And it was fun to be doing that around the same time we were thinking about "Lincoln." So, I got to do my clock ticks for Lincoln, and as long as I got to do a T. rex roar for "Jurassic," too, I was happy.

Hasbro confirmed a limited release line for JP3D exclusively at Toys R Us starting in March. No further details, but its likely to consist mostly of details or even be a rehash of JP2009.

Not sure if this has been asked but is the new Jurassic Park 2D blu-ray gonna be an improvement on the one they already released, or just the same?

Holy shit that's bad. They already have the T-Rex in that exact pose and direction from prior material. Was it that hard to just cut and paste?

Oh great, at least we get two new Hasbro figures that were intended for another line.
Why must JP-Fandom always get the tail-end of all successful Spielberg films.

So who can I email to tell them how disappointed I am in the JP3D IMAX poster not even using a real, official SWS or ILM JP Rex?

They were likely already manufactured items that were left over after they canned the last line. They are using JP3D as an opportunity to clear em out. I expect the TRU line to be incredibly limited and rare, which worries me since I want at least doubles of the Pachyrhinosaurus and Allosaurus. Don't fret though, if Hasbro is talking JP4 already then they have big plans for it.

fuck computer graphics. Bring on the jurrasic park type model building. Nothing compares even today. Everything looks so plastic and fake compared to JP.

Why are they not doing this more :(
