yes it is true

actually i refuted that comment first but the poster is claiming 1.5g for graphics which is very true
Guerilla convinced SONY for the 8gig RAM which was changed like 2.5 months ago

EDIT: i clarified a few of my claims with Kagari about the nextbox/ps4 and upcoming betrayaltons at e3

KZ is the only game that blew people away at e3. did you see how many things were happening on screen . It looked familiar but you havent senn all of KZ. Evolution also blew people away and the realtime Capcom demo too

GG, single-handedly changed Sony's mind?

there wasn't many gifs when I made the thread, there still is very little. I'll pop some on later tonight just for you. If people can post the KNACK gifs here, I'll edit them in later

DieH@rd posted these in the AMD thread earlier today

Not much in the form of gameplay but this is all in engine stuff I believe.

The latest Patch Attack had a a block with all the gameplay videos of knack [those OS videos for chat and bigass window on the gameplay]. Somebody should create gif of all that gameplay.

8GB of GDDR FUCKING FIVE. That amount of that particular memory type allows for this level of visual quality in real time. Do I even have to mention that the console uses an architecture of the cpu that won't be seen in "real" pc's until 2014 at the earliest besides this?

Massive leap from current gen. Time to stop being so damn ignorant of what it's capable of achieving.

I will leave this here :)
Just to knitpick. How detailed are the weapons when they're not in the hands of the player?
Also the only models that have that amount of texture detail in the game. The environment for example does not. Neither does the characters. Not that I'm saying Crysis 3 doesn't look breathtakingly good. It does. But! If this was an attempt to say that what we've seen on PS4 so far is not in the same league that's just ridiculous.

Weapons look exactly the same on the ground and in Your hands, You can throw and pick up every weapon on the level.

Characters are insanely detailed

Please read Durante's thread, and look up some comparisons of Bobcat vs Sandy/ivy bridge.

Son of a bitch, KZSF doesn't look as good as C3.

Depends. Looks like Crysis has up close bested (though character body textures are a bit hit and miss, faces are spectacular), but KZ SF has the scale and geometry, and I'd argue lighting too (but that might be down to art).

The skyline KZ4 gif is impressive, but not mindblowing. A good looking skyline is not necessarily complex graphically, and not doesn't require as much rendering power as you might think.

Take Superman Returns for the PS2:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAuP4GbEFr8

That's a full, dense skyline run on hardware 50-100 times slower than the PS4. I'm not trying to compare the PS4 to the PS2, mind you, I'm just saying that there are tricks to make a skyline/background look good without breaking the polygon bank.

Yep. The hi-res PR shots show that the background buildings are very low poly.

KZSF could claim scale if the buildings weren't so low poly and the city was actually traversable in non-scripted events, kinda like AC. As it stands now, C3 actually has a bigger scale.

Out of curiosity, why are you posting these here? Also, what settings are the screenshots on? Could a 400-600 dollar PC do these settings?

I'm not interrogating or anything. I'm curious, though, as somebody who does not very closely follow gaming PC components or prices.

I know many people say that DD was the most impressive, but, imo, knack was especially when looking at all the tiny details like the smoke, fire, and all the animations. Not bad for an early title.

Are there download links to any 720p or 1080p direct feed trailers for any of these games yet?

And someone mentioned a Digital Foundry analysis of the Killzone trailer, anyone got a link to that? Google failed me.

Reminds me of GOW3 being called GOW2.5 visually before the final release. There will be a lot of crow eaten when KZ SF ships.

The amazing IQ is what wows me the most. I really hope the actual gameplay can keep that up, because it's insanely impressive.

It's pretty certain. But I doubt KZ4 will reach the insanity of Crysis 3 on max settings.

That would require a meatier GPU.

But it will look very, very good.

In time, be it at the cost of resolution (from 1080p) games will surpass C3 in visuals. For me, as detailed as faces in C3 are (and they are amazingly detailed), Deep Down and Second Son caught my eye in terms of skin shader. Crysis 3 is already a true next gen game if the PC version was to be counted alone.

No it wouldn't. Insert age old closed platform console development argument. I didn't think a launch title for the PS4 or Nextbox would ever match Crysis 3, but after seeing KZ SF, I've changed my mind. I fully expect KZ SF to surprise at launch. Then again, 8 months or so to polish up an entire game whilst swapping from 1.5gb ram usage to 8gb for added bells and whistles might be a tall order.

Guess we'll see.

The stuff at Max Settings can eat at the framerate. Which is why it's Max Settings.

Crysis 3 still looks phenomenal at medium settings though.

Not to mention Second Son and Deep Down has excellent facial animation. It's probably the biggest change I've seen from current gen (ps3) to next gen (ps4). I found them much better than Crysis 3, which I own.

You are confusing screen size with resolution. The VITA won't be taking a 1080p image and downsampling it. It is not that powerful. It will just be running it at it's own native resolution.

The PS4 will downsample it to the native Vita res before streaming it. DF covers this in one of their recent bits.

Like I wrote. The characters doesn't have anywhere near as detailed textures as those on the weapons. Neither does the environments. The characters faces might be in the same league, but that's it. Wonder what kind of GPU you'd need to run it @ 4k with a good framerate though. That as a standard is kind of hard imagining I think.

A 500-600 follar PC gets you an AMD Quad, 8GB RAM and a 7850 (same card as in ps4) and would run C3 at low-med. High with some dips. Still looks great.

So You though that rest of game have same texture as weapons? That wont happen even in next-gen. Even CG movies doesnt have that quality textures on most assets.

That quoted, not [img'ed] shots are from my PC that cost around 700$ when BF 3 released, so 1.5 year ago.

Man knack looks like a low budget tv show. Jimmy Neutron maybe. Can't wait to play it.

It does have that mario and banjo feel to it when i look at the footage.
Should be fresh after playing so many shooters.

This is what was consider casual gaming in the far past and it was awesome :'(

But to produce the screenshots you posted, moving smoothly, you probably need much more $$ and a few of those too:
