Glad to see that I won't have to deal with input lag whining.

Since two weeks actually. And it's the only German console mag left that's worth reading, at least from time to time. So I'll assume that the parts they wrote are right. Damn, had it in my hands earlier today but there was not enough stuff that interested me to warrant a purchase.

High FOV works much better when you're sitting closer to a smaller screen. When you have 45"+ screen which you have to sit farther away from, high FOV looks terrible and is confusing for the mind. There's a very nice video that explains this with drawings.

HA! I knew this was suspect the moment "input lag" was mentioned. What I'm most astonished is that this the hands-on previews beforehand did nothing to quell the doubt in this thread. It is as if there is some strange hostility towards TLOU (probably sour after that whole AI is scripted debate). Again, try not to disregard OFFICIAL hands-on previews and then write them off because some vague preview on some rough translated magazine said so.

The magazine is in its 20th year. It isn't "no name" in Germany at least.
I have the issue and I hadn't read the preview because I'm on a bit of a blackout concerning the game. I've quickly checked the preview now, and I didn't find the quote about the input lag.
The issue in question has been out for almost three weeks and the preview is pretty big and exhaustive and it has a pretty good interview with Mr. Druckmann as well. It seems to have been "outsourced" though, meaning it wasn't done by the core editorial team.

the input lag thing come from the other 'source' not from magazine. the magazine mainly inform the location based damage on Joel, about how you can't use heavy weapon effectively immediately after your arm got hit.
Thats been this board more and more every day. The only OT I've posted in for like 4 months has been Ni No Kuni. I knew to stay the fuck away from the TR OT, I won't be reading Bioshock or this one either. Both games will have like one too many firefights and it'll be a bunch of whining and crying about broken promises that were never actually made.
I can understand being disappointed if the game you got isn't what you envisioned or wanted. I can't stand the constant bitching about it though. Either adjust or find something else to play.

The stuff about the wounds is in the preview, but most of it doesn't strike me as a part of the "game system" if that makes sense. To me it sounds like those are "flavor animations" that add to the atmosphere and short term visual realism.

Anyone else feel like this game is going to be mediocre? That E3 demo was awesome as fuck but it's been like almost a year and we haven't seen anything that compares to that.
IMO Naughty Dog is to medicore to pull of a game that focus on gameplay mechanics. So far this generation that doesn't seem to be their strong suit so it will be very interesting to see how this game turns out.

He probably would have been okay if it wasn't for the crazy thread title. That was pretty unnecessary, even if the info was true.
