Oh wow. Hahaha!

So, /v/ posted a theory.

Joakim is 100% CGI in that interview. This is an elaborate tech demo for the Fox Engine.
- It explains why the two are never in the same frame together
- It explains the bandages
- It explains why the game being on the Fox Engine was the big reveal.

If you look at his cheek during the interview, the shading seems suspicious. And the closer you look at it, I have a hard time believing he is actually there.

Swear to God, when I saw the gif of his eyes at the end I thought they moved a little "suspiciously", but still this is too insane.

That'd be amazing. The static image from earlier could easily just be a face model.

But didnt Geoff take a photo of him? How can he do such a thing if the guy is CG?

Of course. I've been replaying the whole thing on YouTube...in the 'interview,' the guy just doesn't look real. It looks like really well-done CGI with the bandages to hide the imperfections in the model.

It's entirely possible that they could've had that prepared beforehand. Think about it - that tweeted photo of the face probably boosted hype for this interview through the roof. It got GAF buzzing. That was the point.

Or as mentioned above, it could have been a face model.

Hmm maybe its because of the youtube compression, but i really cant see him beeing CGI. On the other hand Kojima released many pictures last year showing how "real" Fox Engine characters can look.

would be funny.. but I think this a wrong theory.. keep looking at "mogrens" neck in the interview.. it moves way to realisticly fo it to be CGI.. but again I´m old with a very bad Eyesight.. so it could have been Kojima on a fucking unicorn that was shitting the Phantom Pain name in stars..

Come on, honestly people think Mogren is cgi?
It's obviously a real person, just the way he moves gives it away, compare that to the phantom pain trailer.
People really can see everything if they look hard enough.
This reminds me of the people that saw cgi all over Indy 4 even though there was not actually that much of it in the movie.

This is really getting fucking stupid. I have zero interest in any of this dumb trolling viral crap, so I'm pretty glad that it's probably all going to end at GDC and they'll be announcing the actual game with some details pre-E3. Kojima needs a new hobby.

I'll need to see the HD stream from GameTrailers before I decide for sure. But yeah, this fits with the whole message they want to send with the Fox Engine - that it's possible to mistake it for reality. What better way to convey that message than with something like this?
And why else would they bring up the Fox Engine? If they wanted to have a "subtle" connection to this project & Kojima, Geoff could've pointed out one of the dozens of connections that have already been made so far.

The joyless few talking about how dumb it is and why can't they just announce the game properly - you're the reason why we don't hear about Half Life 3.

Wat? My mind would be blown if true.

I think all this Moby Dick studio stuff is great. Kojima is brilliant.

Been a fan of MGS since back on the NES days and the series has gotten more insane over time. I love it.

This is probably more likely than it sounds. Between the Fox Engine reality comparisons that already exist and Kojima's obsession with how digital information can't be trusted since MGS2...

The success of others absolutely infuriates me.

It reminded me a lot of this. It would be impressive if true, I feel.

Interesting, if you look at the shadow on his neck under the jaw on the right side, it looks very strange, also he does seem to have that Fox Engine smoothness. If this is CG OMG.....

It is interesting that the whole video felt like Geoff was talking as if nobody was really there, even the room the guy is in seems different, maybe they sent him the video and he made up questions?

Ah, good spot. The shadow seems to appear and disappear, /v/ may be onto something.
