Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director's Cut [Up: Off-Screen play confirmed]

Sounds better than expected, but I'd still be amazed if it shifted units in more than tens of thousands. For me personally, there might be some extremely minor temptation if there were Wiimote controls, but zero without.

I'm of two minds when it comes to the modified content.

Redone boss fights are something I never dared to hope they would get around to implementing, so that's a major plus.

On the other hand, integrating The Missing Link into the story is sure to drastically mess up the pacing.

I want games for my WiiU. But not trash releases like this, full price for a two year old game that anyone who cares for it has played already, ridiculous.

It doesn't hurt me to know that it's still not as good as the PC version. To suggest a game still stuck on modern hardware will be better than a game you can play in 3D, 1080p or higher and 60fps is, like I said, being silly.

It's not really objective now is it? Some players might value dev commentary, touched up gameplay, Miiverse etc. over better framerate and fps. The number of improvements certainly make it possible to claim that this is the definite version for you.

At the end of the day, no matter the tweaks and some added content, it's still a two years old port at $50.

I don't think anyone has criticised Eidos quite as hard as you insinuate, but I've seen a lot of puzzlement expressed about the viability. And rightfully so, I think this will sell terribly.

Announcing the price at PAX to be $29.99 would go a looooong way.

Some people might value those things over a better looking and running version of the same game, but those people are not meant to be taken seriously anyway.

Not at that price and when they said it could appear in another platforms. And this comes from someone that buy it the game twice (PC and PS3)

The boss fights were a very minor part o the game and besides for that one guy, just improving them does not make this definitive until we see how the gamee runs

If you say so. It was without a DOUBT, the most common and mainstream complaint about the game. There were articles about it, and a huge stink surrounding the fact that the boss fights were outsourced to a different dev.

Sure, but the. game also ran like crap at places on the 360 which was my biggest complaint

Butthurt implies that I'm jealous which would be a laughable notion here. Oh no what will I do without my tablet minimap and dev commentary! Miiverse implementation? Where can I trade in my Steam copy.

Well you're blatantly ignoring the non-Wii U specific adjustments to reassure yourself. So I'd say its quite a feasible notion.

Watch it being a beta test for Deus Ex: Uber Edition on PS3/360/PC.

What gameplay and AI improvements were listed? All I saw was a generic response that most people will probably not even notice. Are they going to fix the completely broken skill system? If not then nothing else matters.

Really they try to make it look like they're doing all of this work on it and they don't bother fixing the level design in the game, the single biggest flaw stopping this from being a great deus ex game.

edit: Holy shit they're making the game even easier?? :lol
You were amusing at first, then funny, then lame, then irritating. Man you should change your hobby or something, whenver you pop in a discussion it turns to shit. And we roll our eyes.

20 - 40$ max at a retail release

So that's the price you would be ready to pay? I haven't seen definite price for this release yet. You could also look at Most Wanted U which few days before release become available for $30 which I understand is half the RRP.

Some people might value a witty conversationalist over a supermodel, but those people are not meant to be taken seriously anyway.

But the complaints were just as much about the concept of the boss fights rather than the execution. The execution was pretty bad of course, but no matter what they do to improve them, you're always going to arbitrarily break away from the open-ended gameplay and find yourself locked in a closed arena where you're forced to kill a particular enemy.

They could very much be a roadblock. I don't call that minor at all. I remember having to alter what skills I took after reading about them from those that were further in the game then I was just so I was prepared. Had I continued on my original path I wouldn't have gotten through the fights as they currently are and would have likely had to restart and make sure my character was prepared (time waster) or just got frustrated and not played anymore. The problem is that they're such a huge difference between normal enemies and the bosses. The game leading up to them doesn't prepare you I feel for the experience those fights provide. Other games do but not this game itself.

The overhauled boss fights make me cautiously optimistic. There was no roundabout way about it: in vanilla DXHR boss fights were broke for anyone who didn't have an action/killing-based spec. I want to see what they've actually done before I'm convinced, but that they've made moves to accommodate hackers and so on is promising. Besides that, nothing that stands out to me as exceptional, but it shows they've put a degree of consideration into this port, and that's better than most developers are giving Wii U.

I'm not saying I'll buy it straight off, but I'll keep an eye on it and see how it measures up. As I said in the other thread, I want a boxed copy of DXHR (I have it on Steam and PS+ right now), and maybe this'll be the version I get.

I already said the boss fights were not a big deal. They were not the best part of the game to be sure but they were relatively easy to get through. Other than that I'm not seeing improvements other than a generic "AI will be better" which is something that is really hard for most people to pick out, unless there is a drastic improvement.

The game provides many weapons and ammo if you're good at exploring. I didn't have to change my character or use that typhoon skill (which I never picked anyway) at all.

I should mention that I also need to buy the system (waiting for SMTxFE and X )

Yeah, just ignore the improved boss fights, AI, visuals and refined game balance and combat and focus on the things you don't care about.

Unless I can get specifics on most of that then yeah I will ignore it. Vague, generic responses in PR reports like that don't tell me anything.

My ears perked up at mention of developer commentary. If there's a good amount of it I'm quite interested, because Deus Ex: HR seems like a game where that would be very interesting to listen to.

They could've at least given us a killphrase.
