That fox engine comparison keeps popping up. It's not as good as it first seems. The complete difference in shape of the chair's backs, lack of reflection on the flatscreen and other objects, as well as the darks not being quite as dark in picture B are all fairly obvious tells.

NO! I REFUSE TO BELIEVE JOAKIM MOGREN IS FOX. #TeamReal

Dammit, you're probably right.

Michelangelo painted the Sistine Chapel. Yabuki turned off voice chat in Mario Kart races. True artists of their time.

But those are inanimate objects.

I THINK I FIGURED OUT PHANTOM PAIN

IT'S SET AFTER METAL GEAR SOLID 2

Big Boss's body is getting repaired from being destroyed by Snake. This is the same time after they've used Solidus's body to repair him, but he's not done yet - he still has an arm to go. Big Boss is hooked up to a VR machine while in a comatose state that forces him to prepare for battle and rehabilitation while in it. Ground Zeroes takes place after the Phantom Pain trailer, because it's more advanced in the program. The REAL game is going to be in two parts - Big Boss, who you play through his VR in, and eventually escape the hospital once he's unhooked from it - and part two, in which you play as Solid Snake and Otacon in Philanthropy, travelling the world and destroying Metal Gears, which fits much better into the open world theory. It would also make sense to the advanced technology we see Big Boss using in the Ground Zeroes trailer... Because it's modern times, but the VR puts him in the situation shortly after Peace Walker. It also explains why he looks so fucking old in the trailer, with the grey hair even though it's supposedly right after Peace Walker. Maybe the burnt man, and the reverse XOC thing is a representation of Big Boss's burnt body and subconscious?

I'M NOT CRAZY I SWEAR

If there was also an interview of the chairs with Geoff Keighley that was put on GametrailersTV, I think that would legitimize their authenticity for people, as long as the chairs were placed in a separate frame from Geoff.

I'm having trouble following that.

Considering we're discussing MGS plots, that makes it a flawless theory.

tl;dr/pointform:
- big boss is in hospital because he's being fixed up from Snake burning him to near death
- he's hooked up to VR when he's comatose
- Phantom Pain is his first VR experience rehabilitating him, his body isn't finished being rebuilt with Solidus's parts yet hence the missing arm
- the fire represents Snake burning him, and Volgin, etc are just haunting memories
- Ground Zeroes is one of the final levels of VR for Big Boss
- the "new tech" that didn't make sense in the trailer (I.E. the holographic PDA thing) are real world things from current times Big Boss is using in VR
- he looks old in the Ground Zeroes trailer because he is old, just in VR (not the lighting thing like Kojima claimed)
- the burned man is a subconcious projection of how he looked once Snake fucked him up
- Doyle will play Big Boss because it's old Big Boss, hence Hayter's tweet

so snark aside, what's your point?

my issue is they literally spend seconds on mogren's face compared to geoff keighly's. they're hiding something if they want to do closeups but cut away so fast.

it's so obvious they aren't in the studio together like they claimed because if they were they would be seated across each other. closeups are reserved for movie stars. there would be panned out shots with both of them. shots from the waist up. the interview is constructed in a very awkward way for a reason.

It's not really strange to shoot them that way. Anyway, I don't know if anyone has said they have to be in the same studio. It's a pretty far leap from that to the best CG human ever.

You're crazy. That would mean Chico never aged (GZ trailer) and has been captive with Paz for 30 years.

Obviously, GZ is the prologue taking place in 1975-1976. Phantom Pain probably takes place in 1972 (Big Boss in a coma having his DNA taken by Zero)... or a year after Metal Gear in 1995 (Big Boss minus an arm and in recovery after Snake kicks his ass the first time). Or it could take place in 2038 when he is found by Policenaughts in a dupster minus one arm after a fight with Metal Gear Snatcher MK3.

Edit: Oh, GZ is a VR sim... Ah, it all makes sense!

The only part where he looked old in the GZ trailer was during the zoom into his face, because the lighting made his hair look grey. Otherwise, he looked like he did in Peace Walker, just without the bandana. And if Phantom Pain takes place after MGS2, wouldn't he look way older? He looks about the same age as he does in the GZ trailer, and he still has the mullet, which he didn't have in MG2.

I remember that Sonic fan (forgot his name >.<) who ended up going crazy with Sonic in Sonic 4 and the colour of his eyes. Posted a picture with the eyedropper from photoshop and a screenshot from Sonic 4 and it being green and he ended up getting banned.

Why hasn't this happened with TeamCG yet? They are equally crazy and mentaly unstable and an obvious danger to themselves and us.

Why was obsessed with eye color and why did that result in his banning?

Because they know.

Most of us in Team CG is just trolling with it, and hoping it is CG because that's a much cooler reveal.

But yeah, even if it isn't CG the thread has been fun. No one has actually gone out of their way to be an asshole (yet).

It's absurd to ban someone for making an effort, why do people want to build upon that precedent? At any rate I'd advise those people never to step into a laboratory, they're full of insane people making measurements.
