It's great to finally be here guys, long time lurker, but glad to be apart of the discussion finally.

On Topic how great is the new volume 2 soundtrack! I rocked that bad boy all day long at my job today.

Now that there are acceptable settings to be found in Halo 4 custom games, do you guys think another HaloGAF tourney in the summer could be possible?

I'm gonna be bored as fuck this summer lol.

Made a quick super fast cut and dry CSR checker on my school's server (since I don't have one...):

Bam

Currently, it only shows your highest CSR rating, but I'll finish it up here soon to have all playlists.

I think it'll stay as ONLY CSR to keep it fast and lightweight.

This is great, and bookmarked. You're awesome.

Didn't get the memo regarding the 14th Amendment
First time playing the Castle map packs (which, by the way, I pretty much like all the maps for once) and I just got all but the disintegration achievement in one playthrough. They are much more reasonable than the Majestic achievements.

"Hey man, those are some sick headphones!"

"Oh really, cool, I don't even know anything about headphones."

#YOLOSWAG

I know a good sounding headphone when I put one on. Dishing out $200+ on a nice amp is not something I would like to do. I personally think they sound fine as is, but hey, what do I know.

You have an awesome uncle!

As for the headphones, as long as they sound fine to you :D But if you want to use those cans to their full potential then a ~$100 amp will do the job.

I bought the Astro Mixamp because of college so I wouldn't bug my roommate. Haven't been using them much lately though. I am wondering how much the sound would improve with an actual amp.

Great now that I am looking into this I feel like these headphones are being wasted by my use.

It'll be like a new headphone once properly powered. I'm currently using the FiiO E9 that I bought on ebay for $60-70, which can push 600ohm headphones (HD600 are 300ohm).

Hey guys, I'm buying a custom controller.

I'm seeing an option to get it "modded", so... modded controller are ban-able on Xbox right? I probably won't go with it anyways because all the mods are for Call of Duty and they wouldn't help me at all for Halo, and to get it modded cost $27 lol, but still I'm wondering if it's ban-able.

In case your wondering, the mods are:

The Rapid Fire options below will be added:
Mode 1: Quick Scope sniper rifle with user adjustable timing between scope in and shoot.
Mode 2: Call of Duty: Black Ops Akimbo Mimic. Uses right trigger to fire both weapons. Only right trigger rapid fire if LT is pressed to aim first.
Mode 3: Call of Duty: MW2 Akimbo Mimic. Uses right trigger to fire both weapons. Only right trigger rapid fire if LT is pressed to aim first.
Mode 4: Right trigger rapid fire for Black Ops
Mode 5: COD auto aim down the sight for full auto weapons.
Mode 6. COD auto aim down the sight with rapid fire for Black Ops.
Mode 7. COD auto aim down the sight with rapid fire for MW2.
Mode 8: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 rapid fire
Mode 9: Call of Duty: World at War rapid fire
Mode 10: Auto aim zombies with rapid fire WaW and Black Ops
Mode 11. Auto aim zombies without rapid fire Waw and Black Ops
Mode 12: Burst mode for COD
Mode 13: Drop shot for full auto weapons.
Mode 14: Drop shot with rapid fire for Black Ops.
Mode 15: Drop shot with rapid fire for MW2.
Mode 16: GOW2 and GOW3 Hammerburst rapid fire.
Mode 17: User re-programmable mode!

Like I said, useless for Halo so I most likely won't get it, but I'm still curious.

343i should definetely remove custom loadouts for the Castle playlist ASAP.

It feels awkward to play in 1/4 portion of the map because the vehicles are easily destroyed by plasma grenades and you just get a DMR Team Deathmatch instead.

I just think it's the changing nature of the industry, try and fit as many players together.

It seems outlandish to us, but I can easily see BTB in Halo 5 increase to 10v10 or 12v12 play. So many people already wish it was more like Battlefield.

I just wish 1v1 and 2v2 and 4v4 aren't left behind sort of like they have with Halo 4.

Any reason why multi team is teams of 2 instead of 3?

Cuz parties of 3 aren't allowed to have fun.

I'm fine with the max party size increasing to 12 for select gametypes (not default BTB) so long as the core 4v4 is still the premier experience. A heavy emphasis on "large maps with vehicular combat" - especially with anti-vehicle weapons in loadouts and random power weapons - is going to turn away many players. And even as a BTB guy, I feel this way. Sometimes I just want some tight, fast-paced action
(get your mind out of the gutter)
, but I can't have that when all of the maps are designed for 6v6 and above.

Even right now as I'm forging, I'm having trouble building a good 4v4 map because of default Sprint. Something that would be a prime fighting space for any other Halo suddenly feels 30% smaller with Sprint.

I'm staring at the dashboard right now and I can't help but see "Castle Map Pack Intensifies Vehicular Combat", RIP in peace Halo

Oh for sure. That's what I mean, it seems this game is really only focused on 6v6 or 8v8 play. 4v4 is really the bread and butter of Halo, it's what I love most.

I'm hoping that half the stuff that was introduced in this game is gone from the next. While I liked Josh and his writeup during last week's bulletin, one thing I noticed was he considered the individual CSR playlists the mainstream ones. He considers infinity and flood and other gametypes mainstream, whereas throwdown, doubles are not mainstream.

It means they consider the normal Halo gameplay of the past decade to be a niche or pro/hardcover gameplay, and that infinity is the mainstream.

I mean I guess I do post about it a lot and I will not lie or try to hide that but I do post about it here because it is basically a Halo game, might not have it in the title but the gameplay is very similar. With the work they put in I honestly think its a better game than reach and perhaps even 4

I will try to limit posting about it in this thread I guess but will mention bigger updates that happen to the game like when the BR DLC hits which probably would be a better option lol

Don't let people put you off posting about it -murder miners is a pretty good game I think a bunch of us and probably a bunch of lurkers rely on your posts to know when to try stuff out.

People don't really stay on topic in here anyway.

Eh, the auto-aim on the DMR is still too good, and still too bad on the BR.

Well actually on the topic of Murder Miners I was just reminded in the OT for it that I want to get some 4v4 CTF and TDM going on with some classic Halo maps with weapon spawns placed.

Yep. Auto aim, aim assist over distance paired with a 3x scope a good ROF and being a five shot is just too good on open sight maps.
But IMO the autoaim on almost all weapons is too high.

I still think remove the DMR, less spread and recoil for the BR, but also less auto aim and aim assist would have been the better alternative.
