Hit the Home button whenever you want, click Miiverse, and when you make a post, there's an option to add a screenshot to go along with it.

Whenever you're playing a game just hit the home button and go to Miiverse and make a post and you'll have the option of adding a few screenshots from the last bit of gameplay.

Yeah but if they don't mind upscaling lower res games when you play them surely the screenshot function shouldn't mind doing the same, especially when it downsizes the image anyway...
