New Hunter x Hunter Anime |OT| of Hunters and adventure and NO MANGA SPOILERS

The last two chapters in the manga make that even more clear.

Yeah, that was when I was like "okay Kurapika, you totally deserve your revenge". I really want to see that happen, too. Togashi needs to get off his ass and resolve the plot thread already. The series can end after that for all I care.

I didn't know there was a movie last January called : HXH Phantom Rouge

Goddamnit where can I watch this ?

The last two chapters in the manga make that even more clear.

More like the very last page of the very last chapter.

I got ignored ;_;

Anyway I'm at the Kastro vs. Hisoka fight now. I had completely forgotten to use this as an example which makes the fact that the average person in that universe can't tell there is a power system setup in the world that is attainable? Not to mention according to the show at least, the announcer and audience can hear them talking and they are mentioning nen left and right.

I was in complete (if silent) agreement, for what it's worth!

Thanks!

I also forgot or didn't remember it mentioned in the old show that Ten slows aging. If you learned Ten at Gon, Killua, or Zushi's age you might be able to be 100 years old while looking like 20 year olds. I do wonder exactly how much Ten restricts aging and whether a kid at there age would still age to what is considered the prime male body age and then stop aging

Seems fitting for what you were talking about: No one cares about dogs that can talk!

For those that didn't watch the original anime, I implore you to watch the beginning of this video. The cooking competition at the beginning of the new anime was different in the original. It's fucking hilarious. Killua makes this chef level dish and he gets rejected, and then you see Hisoka get out of line because he made the same exact thing

Then Kurapica's response to what dish needs to be made is hilarious.

Man, the original anime was so good.

Episode 66:

Hisoka vs Chrollo fight basically confirmed for a future time.

oh yeah

BTW I'm also reading through the manga to see what the anime skipped out on. It's pretty fast paced. I'll only read to the part I am in the anime though. Not going forward just yet.

Now I'm really curious about
whom the Chimera Ant King will get his genes from. It would probably be a fairly powerful person, and in that case, I wonder if it would be someone semi-important.

ep 77

Damn, they're already not pulling any punches with this arc. I figured certain things would be partially censored, but I think
what happened to Kurt and Reina
was even MORE disturbing here than in the manga, which is only
made all the more heart-breaking with the extra fleshing out.

Why won't they change the intro...at least to something appropriate for the arc. Instead we have the same happy go lucky song regardless of what's going on

So nice to see this shit animated. I remember this portion in the manga made up of pure scribbles, ha!

Love that they're not holding back on the violence.

I was actually kind of disappointed that I didn't get to see any limbs or a silhouette of the Queen devouring the children... :(
I'm a horrible person.

So I'm all caught up now. And very excited fit the Chimera Ant arc. I've only heard good things about it. My favorite arcs so far are as follows:

1. Phantom troupe
2. Hunter Exam
3. Heavens Arena
4. Greed island

I enjoyed GI but it was definitely the weakest to me.
I thought the bomber as a villain was a complete joke. Bisky could've probably beat him. No matter how many people he killed I just couldn't accept this dude was the antagonist. The whole card thing I didn't like either.I enjoyed just about everything else in that arc. DAT dodge ball game.

I think we all wanted that, although it was never going to happen.

So I'm almost finished with a re-read of this arc, so many great things happening, I can't wait to see it all animated rather than scribbled. :D

Kurt is pretty awesome onii-chan and so great and funny. Snake part was so awesome and intense. Though I did quit the episode for a few hours, cant believe someone would even pen this story and then even animate it, awful, awkward, and just not good.
Why give us so many good scenes with Kurt and Reina and family and all happy fishing, only to depressingly off him like that and then show him being all devoured with just his clothes and blood remaining. I was hoping the crew would have swooped in to save, them but to be devoured, devouring kids even, thats just not right and so bad and sad. This series is supposed to be happy, the op even.

Can nen users really be caught up in this?

I heard this was going to be a dark arc but jeez. Togashi slowly descends into darker and darker tones.

Did the beach panel get fixed in the volumes? Togashi really can't draw despite taking a 8 year break.

This arc has very few, if any, 'happy' moments.

Even though they're adding some filler I like how they're handling this so far. Speaking of filler, am I the only one thinking that they're adding it/will add it because Togashi just won't come out of hiatus?

You have no idea how hard I'm trying to resist laughing right now.

Oh man that part
where the ant killed the kid.
They played it up from miles away, but it still caught me off guard because it was suddenly BAM and it'd done, not messing around.

It's worth mentioning regarding the scribbles that not only are they really overplayed considering they were fixed in the volumes, they're also like, at most, 15 chapters at the end of GI and beginning of Ant arcs. It's ridiculous yeah, but it's not a big deal at all.

The art quality is not that great in later chapters, but yeah, it never gets THAT horrible again after he returned from the first hiatus.

It's just one of those things that will haunt him forever.

Eh he returned from the first big hiatus in 261. Maybe you could make a case up until 200 (really pushing it), but that's it. And the content was so good anyway!

About what you said in the other post, I'm seriously considering Togashi just waiting until the anime ends before continuing (either way he just dumps all the chapters he wrote during the break, so it doesn't matter to him). Manga spoilers
the anime can pretty much end in 339 and none would be the wiser that the story continues, similarly to how GI ended in the old anime
.

If he does wait until then, he better have at least 60-70 chapters done. I mean, dude.

Is it confirmed that during the hiatuses that Togashi slowly works on HxH and "comes back from hiatus" when he has a bunch of chapters to dump for Shonen Jump?

I take the fact he recently broke his record for most chapters back to back as a "confirmation". It's a bit hard to believe that he just does nothing for a year and then works in a normal schedule when he's serialized until the next hiatus.

Ever since the first big hiatus in 2006, his average is suspiciously close to a monthly pace, so I'm willing to bet that he just works monthly regardless of when/whether the chapters are actually published.

Episode 75.

DAWWWWW. GON AND KILLUA SO CYOOOOT.

No, but seriously, that ending scene with Gon and Killua was just too much. In a good way.

I have been watching the new HxH every week as it comes out on Crunchyroll, but I have never seen the original series.

Any suggestions on where I could find them all in decent quality?

What? What series have you been watching?

Hated the extra padding. This is what happens when adaptations start to think for themselves. Is there a reason they didn't animate the talking ants mouth? Lazy?

The one that gave us scenes like this and this. I guess thus far assessing the anime on happy or not, it largely has been I thought certainly nothing as completely distressing as we saw here.
I dont even think Greed Island had any depressing scenes, beyond just the bombers initial attack. These were poor helpless kids. I guess having his scene saying he would protect him forever, the smiling mother, and onii-chan moments, just makes it even more saddening
