New GTA V Trailers "MICHAEL. FRANKLIN. TREVOR."

I have a feeling that they are going to be borrowing some similar mechanics from Max Payne 3. Re-watching the Franklin video and the weapon melee takedowns scream out Max Payne 3. Also good to see they put more detail in the weapons. The slides on the guns kick back when they are fired. Nice touch.

They already had close quarters firearm animations in Red Dead, so it's only natural that they'd bring the updated ones from MP3 into GTAV as well.

Also, the ending shot of Franklin's trailer looks like it's right about to blend into gameplay as he exits the house.

Why are they hyping us up so much with ~5 months left till release? It's such a tease

Keep us excited about this gen I guess. GTA 5 is one of the VERY few franchises that I think can still keep peoples' attention with new consoles coming out.

Also I hope the storyline is not quite so "serious and adult", it really clashes with the game play.

I'll just leave "Bullshark Testosterone"...

...and "Doesn't Follow Football"...

...right here :p

Yes, but I hope that there is a little more to it like in MP3 where it just isn't the canned animation, but also gives you the option to fire and execute or not.

Also just noticed from the video that police now fire their weapons while in the car as well. Pretty neat.

All three characters seem interesting, but Michael is the most fascinating to me because of the family aspects. I think Franklin might have some family too, but they didn't really focus on that in the trailer.

I have to ask this since I'm a bit confused here. Is that Michael's wife? Or Daughter? Or is he the guy running away in a speedo? lol Can someone help me out here?

Other than that loved the trailers..looks like a lot of fun

Wife, and the guy in the speedo is somebody else.

I really hope chasing that guy down is part of a mission.

Lol what do you think? As soon as I saw that I was pike Yup chase mission. I'm willing to bet that just like in Max Payne 3 there will be seamless cutscenes into gameplay.

As it stands right now, Watch Dogs is a far more exciting prospect than GTA V. I guess being a new IP fresh on the scene helps.

It does look good... but Ubisoft have a way of making stuff seem great on paper, but a chore on the controller (*cough* ACIII *cough* Far Cry 3 *cough*), whereas Rockstar rarely put a foot wrong.

Judging from the trailers, trevor seems to be the one causing or initating the ruckus in the story. The trio do meet up together correct? Think it was from a previous trailer.

Michael trailer is best. Queen song (Radio Gaga) is perfect, and his character seems the most interesting so far.

Did i just see a juggalo in the trevor trailer?

Sometimes these guys just seem to have a stick up their ass.

Nah, they just dislike the way Rockstar advertises. They don't show the actual gameplay, and to many people the cutscenes and stuff they always show off isn't enough to actually get them excited.

You better be able to date/fuck Michael's daughter with Trevor. I hope there's a substory where you date her while trying to hide it from Michael. At the end of the game Michael finds out and shoots Trevor in the head out of rage. Trevor doesn't die from this however, because he's too coked out, and shoots Michael, leaving Franklin to be the remaining protagonist. He steals their crime money and escapes the ghetto with his girlfriend and cool-ass dog we keep seeing.
The dating stuff was removed from V according to past previews and interviews. Unless it's story based I guess.

The audio mix on the tennis scene is so accurate...

Seriously, Michael and Trevor could make for something special. I'm not seeing that from the Franklin character.

Just think of what you do in GTA games. It's pure insanity, all the killing and hell raising. And then you put it up against someone like Nico who keeps wanting to escape his past of crime and violence, it is just silly. I am not saying they can't write a good story that is somewhat based in reality, but it's important to strike a balance in a game like this. I think vice city is still their best work using the GTA formula, and the series has not advanced much past that point when it comes to characters and story. I also dont like that they limit their story telling to the scope of movies. Games are not movies, and if you are really trying to push the medium, they should not resemble them as heavily as GTA games do.

I think they best thing they could do for the series is to advance the cities into something that is much more organic. Something that I could have days of fun in without missions and storyline. Obviously this trailer does not show the improved environment and city details very much so we will have to wait till the game is released to see what they have done.

Why show gameplay? Do they not know how a GTA game is going to play like?
Technically I think some of that was gameplay. Just shown in a cinematic fashion. I can't imagine all those shooting sequences are cutscenes. They probably played parts of the game and used whatever techniques to make it cinematic mixing it with some cutscenes.

You don't HAVE TO buy the game day 1, why not just wait for reviews or gameplay videos.

Yes it would be nice to see gameplay videos but that is not how R* do it, so just DEAL WITH IT. It's like you guys are forced to either buy the game day 1 or not at all.

Wonder if he made that because it won't be coming to PC? (at least for a few months after launch) Seems like a lot of conjecture for a Rockstar trailer. All of their trailers are made to look like movies with action, because that's what makes a good trailer.

...and that's exactly the kind of games they make, too. They are very upfront about their movie influences, it's one of the reasons I like them so much.

Reminded me of Max Payne 3.

Yea boi!

I like what I've seen of Franklin, but I'm not too big on the story he's a part of. It seems very "been there, done that" ish, and maybe that's the whole point, to call back to San Andreas. Still, doesn't seem very exciting.
