Mouse pointer still? What year is this? It's like having a mouse pointer follow my finger on my iPhone.

It wasn't for God of War 2 when it came out for PS2 alone.

So it was good for the PS3 that one of the bigger system sellers didn´t hit before 2010 while they had basically jack shit in their first 12 month on the market? I don´t think so. It was laughable mismanagement then and it is laughable mismanagement now.

Nice, but I don't see:

"We've fixed the car-grind to where getting A/B-spec doesn't take three damn years and money isn't a chore."
"We have used the Top Gear license for more than a special event and a very narrow (can't go off track wide!) track!"
"We have made paved point-to-point tracks!"
"We have made weather look good."

So really, not really worth my time just yet unless they're holding those back for launch (hah, fat chance).

judging this one a press release that only talks about cars. way to get ahead of yourself.

PS3?

so it's gonna be GT5 with new menus and a couple hundred of new premium cars and tracks.

even worse, released at the same (rumoured) time as the PS4?

pass.

What if they partnered with google maps.

All of the world's roads are now racetracks.

One day we'll be able to just choose some itinerary on google maps and the computer will generate a complete 3d model thanks to the enhanced google streetview for us to drive on!

The GPS thing is that if you record your driving on it (at the real circuit) it'll replicate your driving on GT6.

Are you sure? Because that basically limits it's use to about 0.001% of GT6's players.

I've driven Silverstone myself a few times, but doing so is expensive.

Some of you are alarmists with no real interest in GT as a franchise, there are more pressing matters for this franchise.

Lots of unanswered questions -

1. Did they fix layout problems?

Getting to any one specific aspect of the game requires a delusional amount of menu sifting.

2. Have loading times improved?

Intro movie --> Loading --> Main Menu --> Loading --> B Spec --> Loading --> Choose Car? --> Loading --> Track? --> Loading

3. What is the ratio of standard TRACKS to PREMIUM tracks?

Forza fans forever hold this flag to the GT Faithful.

4. Will Premium cars outnumber standards?

PS2 models ain't cutting it in 2013.

5. How is Polyphony working on improving driving / physics model?

WAIT A GOD DAMN MINUTE...

Imagine your cell phone sending data to your PS3 as it creates a course through your driving of your own car...

You could make a race track of anything and anywhere, holy fucking shit balls. Race track to work omfg.

LOL, I wish.

That could be one of the things a racing-game developer could aim for waaaaay in the future. Imagine just going on google maps, selecting a route, and the game taking that route + google street view and makes a brand new track on the fly. Using certain images from googles maps for textures, but recognizing objects and using premade assets that match them the best (like traffic lights, road signs, trees etc).

Just imagine. LOL.

I think I missed something. What's up with these ONLY ON XBOX avatars?

Also if Sony has any franchise that could sell PS4s, it's Gran Turismo. Unbelievably stupid move.

1. Did they fix layout problems? Layout problems?
2. Have loading times improved? Even further? Probably not by much.
3. What is the ratio of standard TRACKS to PREMIUM tracks? no idea
4. Will Premium cars outnumber standards? Lol, no.
5. How is Polyphony working on improving driving / physics model? Wanna know this too

3. Shouldn't even exist now.

I think this is Sony dealing with what they have. They prefer to release a GT game this holiday even if it's on the PS3 than to wait for Polyphony to finish a PS4 release. They should still bank enough with that install base even if it's too late in the generation.

They're probably confident that cars enthusiasts will scratch their itch with DriveClub and Polyphony can release GT7 later on.

didn't GT5 already had that with the data logger? so they are used to have a feature the basically no one uses

IT was feature for few cars BRZ and IS-F but it looks like Data logger will be expanded. We still don't know details

I honestly couldn't give a damn what GAF thinks about PS3 --> PS4 versions of this game, I just want Gran Turismo fans to be happy. GT5 was a massive disappointment and Forza trumped it in many ways. Kaz needs to light a fire in the team and make something truly monumental. Here's to hoping in the next hour we find out.

I wish I was smart and could develop my own idea on iPhone... it could be a killer app.

:'(

Guys don't patent my idea without giving me credit.

I'd call it GPS Course Maker. Accompanied be a racing sim.

I'm of the opinion that standard content should be scrapped. It's 2103/2014, it has no place visually.
Obviously, Kaz disagrees..

nananan i can't hear you

Hahahaha, business wise I still don't get this. People are going to go for this on their PS3 over Drive Club and PS4 has no BC. Either they should have delayed Drive Club and put this also on PS4, or they should have delayed this into next year so Drive Club could shine at launch. This is as dumb as Nintendo releasing Pokemon Black the month the 3DS released

I really doubt Kaz perceived any issues with GT5. The fact damage has been in demand so long and they released what they released. The guy is just out of touch IMO

I'm excited about this, and putting it on PS3 is a smart move. Sony will be making the bulk of its money from PS3 for a few more years and they need to show they are committed to the platform.
