Dead Souls/Of The End was actually localized, it's a pretty great game outside of the absolutely awful control scheme.

Yeah, just corrected my mistake. Completely forgot about the localization. I only played the japanese demo and thought it was pretty boring so I completely deleted it from my mind. @_@

The PS3 version did like ~100k in Japan, I think. Wii U version would be lucky to get 20K (about where Zombi U is at in Japan). At the same time, it's the first time a Yakuza title has appeared on a non-Sony console.

I don't know about that. . .Zombie U wasnt exactly JP catered as Ryu ga Gotoku is.

If this game sells 50k on Wii U in Japan, I'd consider it an amazing success.

Well, the thing is, this is a late HD collection - few are going to buy the system for it, and with the games being so deeply associated with the Sony consoles, it's hard to imagine that a significant portion of the fanbase is on Wii U and willing to buy this.

It's probably going to bomba, but it must have been super cheap to port.

Only played a demo of one of them (can't remember which one), but it felt pretty mediocre and lacked refinement. The whole narrative didn't do much for me either. Still, I think the screens look really nice and I hope it's localized for the ones that want it. I find it hard to believe that Fist of the North Star would come over here, but this one wouldn't.

Still, Nintendo etc.

I just want to reiterate how awkward the talk between Iwata and the Sega guy was in the Japanese ND when they were talking about this. It was so awkward watching Iwata trying to interact with him, I guess he's not used to have guests. It kinda looked like the Mac VS PC guy, too.

Playing with the second Wii U screen looks like a trippy experience. I wonder how different the mechanics of the first two games are from 3?

Playing through Yakuza 2 in PCSX 2 right now, the animation is a little bit rough in some places but overall the game has aged quite well in terms of aesthetics.
