Give up on third party, mang. It's probably not happening. Be happy we're getting these Atlus and Sega collaborations, 'cause it's all we're getting till the Wii U starts selling.

I don't mean third party ports or anything of the like. I meant more collab projects and more surprises like Sonic being exclusive. It's not like I'd buy the ports for the Wii U when the next consoles come out :p

I wonder what Namco is up to besides SSB.

I think there'll be at least one other "third party" surprise like the Sonic one.

I have no idea what it would be but Nintendo isn't just going to make all the same first party games and call it a day.

Is this an indication of what Mario Kart will look like? It's Mushroom Bridge from Double Dash.

Hehe nice find but really this game is maybe ugliest looking Wii u game ever made....might be a wrong... I really tought that this was a Wii game .... I didn't see much graphic upgrade .. only those models looked nice.

It would be nice for a surprise Namco exclusive. A Tales game seems likely to happen at some point, but I don't think E3 would be the proper place to announce it. I'm pretty sure Capcom canceled what they had planned for the Wii U at this point so I don't see any surprises coming from them. Square Enix is in shambles so I don't see anything from their end either. I don't know how Konami's relationship is with Nintendo at the moment but I'm guessing nothing from their end either. It would be nice to see something from Grasshopper or Atlus.

Also, Sega said they have 7 games that will be released by the end of the year (fiscal year?) which include Yakuza 1+2 HD, Sonic Platformer, Sochi, and one more other Sonic game. Do they have anything else announced that I'm missing?

The Namco guess is a decent bet.

If they are so chummy with them as to have them help on such a huge franchise as Smash, I can see them working with Nintendo on other things.

Im not sure about Konami Nintendo relationship.. but I know that Metal Gear creator and Miyamoto are good friends.

For sure. Soul Calibur with Link as guest character would definitely work to their benefit. Tales would be decent as well.

True, but he isn't known for releasing much on Nintendo platforms. I can't remember the last time he was directly involved on a game that came out for a Nintendo console. I think he only oversaw Twin Snakes.

People would shit themselves if Nintendo picked up the localization of Yakuza 5 for Wii U.

Rising getting a PC port but skipping Wii U should tell you enough about that.

Smash Bros. is literally the only reason I am keeping my Wii U, so it better be good! Full Xbox Live - like online for the title or I'm out Nintendo!

I was actually thinking about this today, but since Yakuza 1+2 HD weren't announced for NA and EU (yet?) I'm guessing it would only come out in Japan if they were to do this.

NINTENDO DIRECT SEQUENCE OF EVENTS

1) Open with Super Mario WiiU, much like how they opened with Skyward Sword one E3
2) On the topic of Mario, transition to Mario Kart WiiU
3) Still on a Mario-related note, transition to Yarn Yoshi for WiiU
4) On the topic of Yoshi, transition to Yoshi's Island for 3DS
5) Continuing the 3DS, transition to The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past 2
6) Still on the topic of Zelda, proceed to The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD
7) Proceed to another fall WiiU title, namely The Wonderful 101
8) Still on the topic of Platinum Games, transition to Bayonetta 2
9) On the note of third-party collaboration, go to SMT x Fire Emblem (unlikely, but still)
10) On the note of epic RPGs, transition to Monolith Soft's X (and 3DS title, why not)
11) Touch on story-driven games for NA: Bravely Default, Layton vs. AA, MonHun 4
12) Highlight major RPGs Pokémon X and Pokémon Y (first simultaneous global launch)
13) Focus on expanded audience: Wii Fit U, Wii Party U, Wii Sports U
14) Return to "core" and drop the Treasure 3DS project Bob-omb
15) Then drop the Retro Studios WiiU project Bob-omb
16) Reggie: "One more thing" -- SUPER SMASH BROS. 4

Damn, I would be perfectly fine with this.

Please Iwata make worldwide partnership with Capcom.. give some money and let Capcom make Mega Man Legends 3 exclusive for Wii u... Capcom have nothing to lose if they fails with it.

I would kill for Little King's Story U.

What? When people say 3D Mario, they mean full on platformers like Galaxy and 3D Land, not spinoffs like sport games or RPGs.
There have been way more 3D Mario's and Mario platformers in general the last generation than there were previous ones. While I'm sure EAD Tokyo will hit it out of the park with their Wii U installment, it doesn't really feel like the rare treat SSB does since it's become so frequent.

NSMB and 3D Mario are not even close to the same thing to me honestly.

Weren't there just 2 3D Marios? I mean I guess that's double than there usually is but Mario Galaxy is just that good.

i can understand why you'd like to forget it exists, but ead tokyo also made 3d land

Damn...even though everyone is looking forward to Sony/Microsoft, Nintendo just has to drop Super Smash Bros to steal the show.

I could see Nintendo trying to reign in many older franchises such as Sonic. Creating a support system for them to thrive and ensure they are quality titles. Some potentials would be Megaman, Castlevania, Contra, Pac-Man, and more that I can't really think of. Not sure how marketable this would be in the modern era, but it could be an interesting path to take.

That's why it can't be this "disappointment" like many are saying.

It's already better than last year's without even seeing any of the games.

If ONLY those games confirmed are there, it'd be a very good E3 if the games are excellent.

We can guess there will be more.

Thats the problem. 5 years ago I could have told you those games were coming. Mario Kart is fun but thats it, not an extremely exciting thing. 3D Mario can be cool but galaxy was a bit of a let down as I prefer exploratory hubs. I dislike Smash a lot.

Given the situation, Nintendo need MUCH more than the regulars. They need to prove the worth of the machine. They need truly new and exciting stuff to be taken seriously but they are still trotting out the same games, slowly, treating the eShop and VC like they are hobbies and continuously making excuses. Their arrogance is supreme even in the face of a failing console. They are stubbornly or arrogantly refusing to 'bring it'. In fact I'm wondering if they are actually capable of really caring about their consumers and loyal fans and actually giving us a little more than the very bare minimum. They have shown that they don't give a shit about maintaining our custom. I bet they're just trying to figure out a new market they can exploit.

Maybe if you care about third party support. The "regulars" are why I bought my Wii U. And on top of that we're getting such irregulars as Bayonetta 2, The Wonderful 101, X, and Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem.

Truth be told, if no other game is ever announced for Wii U, and they just release what they've already mentioned, I'd be satisfied. :)

Also you are a bad person for not liking Galaxy, and you should feel bad.

5 years ago, could you have predicted Namco Smash? Bayonetta 2? Nintendo Land? TW101? Luigi's Mansion 2? Kid Icarus Uprising? Kirby's Epic Yarn, let alone Yoshi's? Donkey Kong Country Returns?

They are stubbornly or arrogantly refusing to 'bring it'.

In what way? Maybe their definition of 'bringing it' includes bringing some of their biggest and most loved franchises? I'm not sure what you mean at all.

Excite fans? Yes. Steal the show? Hell no.

To some people this will be the highlight of the show.

Believe it or not, there are a lot of casuals that love Smash. Just some days ago on the college bus some dudes were talking about how they prefer Smash over FIFA, and that's kind of a big deal over here. There's also some guys playing Smash on their laptops all day on the cafeteria.

These people will learn about the new consoles and say "cool can't wait to see how FIFA will look like" and learn about Smash, look at screenshots, and probably look on more info about that Wii peripheral they have been hearing about.

I think that's it. I've flipped, been pushed over the edge, had a gutsful. It means that even though I typically love Mario Kart I can't get excited because the whole Wii U experience feels like broken promise after broken promise with Nintendo saying 'oops, here's a few morsels for ya. Hope ya satisfied'. I feel they owe us much more than that after this catastrophic series of blunders and outright lies.

I think that rather than pulling out the stops they're crossing their fingers that their fans will put up with it until they can get a couple of games out, and forget about it.

Yeah Smash is huge, especially for a fighter. Like, it's not the kind of game your grandmother could get into, so it doesn't do Mario Kart numbers, but I think almost any gamer can at least appreciate it. For many it's going to sell consoles.

Okay, those people will be doing that, meanwhile most people will be worried about PS4 and Nextbox. I'm not saying people won't be interested in Smash, but compared to two new systems with all these new games coming out... Nintendo can't really hope to "steal the show" unless they do something insane and #gamechanging.

I'm sure it will, but during E3 PS4 and Nextbox will be the big stories by a sizable margin.

Will definitely help, but I doubt it'll be nearly enough. Nintendo need new IPs of the same quality and brand power of Mario or Zelda. Though HD Mario and Zelda should be awesome.

Which lies are you talking about?

Release dates, core gamer support, third party support and Nintendo TVii for you US folks to name a few. Reggie spouted rhetoric about how Wii U was for everyone, including us core gamers. We were told of several early 2013 titles like Pikmin. Please understand is all we got. Given the time needed to make games and other software, no way Nintendo didn't know Wii U was going to be like this yet they still marched on and didn't fix it before launch nor early post launch. It was nearly 6 months before Nintendo started participating in their own console with VC and the first update. They still have not released a first party game and by the time they do it will be 8 months old.

Yes, but they still have to be good. You bet your money that there'll be many people (myself included) calling for blood if/when the words 'Always online' are uttered.

They still have not released a first party game and by the time they do it will be 8 months old.

False X2. Game & Wario in Japan and Lego City in the West.

Well they did say they will port Rising to Wii U if people ask for it, but I think people want MGSV more and I am one of those people.

You're going in circles.
Actually you're just proving my point.
What's the point of being friends if "your friend's audience" has to ask
beg, actually
for a game? It's not he's like... Ohh I'll port my game because he's my friend even tho I know it'll bomb hard.

If that was the case then just slap his face with a few million and get the job done.

Didn't Shiggy say he was working on a new IP like 2 years ago???

I think you're spending a disproportionate amount of your emotional energy on this.

If you think you've been lied to maliciously, sell off your Wii U and be done with it. I wouldn't invest another second thinking about it. Video game companies are not so important that they should bring stress upon you. Pocket whatever you get for your Wii U and use it to get on board with another option that makes you happy.

Or, wait it out for long enough for the game announcements, and then you might change your mind. At the very least you can get a few extra bucks for it once some games are coming.

Stuff do get delayed, which sucks but at least we are not waiting years to get Pikmin 3 like say Final Fantasy Versus XIII.

The Wii U is more core orientated than the Wii was that's for sure, third party support is easier said than done, I think if the Wii U starts selling better and grows in user base than hopefully more third party support comes, will it be as good as PS4/720? I really doubt it, but will it be at least decent? If Nintendo pulls off the right moves than hopefully yes.

There are definitely problems with the Wii U but I think Nintendo is slowly fixing them, hopefully we get a better/good image of the Wii U at E3 2013.

You're going in circles.

It's not just Nintendo fans, remember PC fans are now just getting the game and they also had to beg and do a petition to get Dark Souls.

I think that was Sticker Star.

How is that a new IP?
