I can live with that, not much different from steam. But having to be online once every 24 hours, that's the deal breaker for me.

LOL. This is looking to be even worse than the Wii U.

Eh...MS will have better account systems, but yeah it's shit. If PS4 does this kind of stuff, I may go PC only. I pretty much am already but I was looking forward to exclusives. But an Adbox with all sorts of DRM. Sounds like work. I'll just put an HTPC in my living room and do it better.

Wow. Today has been a crazy day.

Indeed it has.

It's only really sinking in now. What a horrible day for console gaming. On the plus side, I only have a PS4 and WiiU to buy this gen.

Why would anyone choose the least powerful of the next gen twins that comes combined with (assumedly) a heavier DRM implementation? Gamers aren't stupid enough to let a couple of upgraded Kinect TV gestures pull the wool over their eyes and see what the Xbox One really is.

If Sony announces something similar for the PS4, I be hoping that Mario U is going to be really fucking awesome as the WiiU will be the only next gen console I'll be putting in my TV cabinet.

I deal with this on steam so I don't know why it bothers me so much in the console space.

Steam doesn't require you to reconnect every 24 hours

Basically Xbox One is an always online console, but they set the server timeout to 24 hours

Games better be cheaper next gen on the back of this.

Only consumer advantage I can see right now is not having to reach around for your discs to play each game.

What good is an account system if it's just there to restrict fair use?

I absolutely agree with you. Just directly comparing to Wii U...at least with Xbox One you'll probably still be able to access your games if your system bricks.

I hope it will be hacked soon & pirates will destroy it , so no one will ever pay a cent for this overpriced peace of shit company.

MS reaching new levels of absurdity. Sony sent Harrison to sabotage their efforts. I see no other explanation.

Aye, I'm quite shock. Harrison's response like normal, nothing trick PR to hide the bad news. At least he made lot classify from confusion.

CD keys, really? Kinect is required for the Xbox One to function so why not use QR codes? Seems so obvious.

Fully expecting the same thing from PS4.

Already confirmed not to be the case.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2...gamer-playstation-4-will-not-block-used-games

I sat down with Yoshida a few hours after the PS4 reveal tonight and one of the first things I asked was whether used games would be blocked.

"Do you want us to do that?" he asked.

No, I said. I think, if you buy something on a disc, that you have a kind of moral contract with the person you've bought it from that you retain some of that value and you can pass it on.

Do you agree, I asked?

"Yes. That's the general expectation by consumers," said Yoshida. "They purchase physical form, they want to use it everywhere, right? So that's my expectation."

Unless, you know, you really want them to do that.

LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL this has got to be wrong. Will there be a fee if i'm not on those 24 hours?

DIARRHEA that's all I can think about.

What I fear a bit are developers who support MS just because of this DRM stuff. I can see PS4 supporting this too, just to keep the developers on their side also. This might be the last generation of consoles or one of the big three leave.

I'm going to give hackers permission to mess with my Xbox One.

If you pay another fee probably. I expect Microsoft customer service will be equally lacking going forward as they have been to date.

why was poor Adam Orth fired???? that guy was speaking the truth about most of the shit MS has revealed today

I don't see Sony not allowing some kind of shit like this to publishers. I hope it doesn't happen on PS4 but I am very skeptical :(
