Have we seen reactions from devs about the XB1 reveal?

Lots of reactions on boards and Twitter/Facebook, but that's mostly gamers. I browsed the big gaming sites and blogs, and didn't see anything from people within the industry.

I'd love to hear what Gabe, Cliffy, Rein, CDProjekt, etc. think. Not that it would influence my opinion in any way, but hearing from the people who make the games would be interesting.

Well, a bunch of them talked at the beginning of MS's video, totally without bias of course. ;) There's also a bunch of indie developers who commented on the conference on Twitter. I haven't heard anything from developers of bigger studios -- but I think these are mostly too smart to talk about the reveal on public channels. No one wants to risk bad blood between their studios and MS.

Also, as always, forum goer are always too quick to call the doomsday. We've barely seen anything yet; E3 is around the corner and could completely change the perception again.

I mean, this is what was announced on Polygon the day or two prior to the actual event. I don't know why people are blowing it out of proportion and crying that Microsoft have lost because at an event designed to show off the console and it's functionality, they showed off the console and it's functionality.

I will gladly eat crow if E3 has more emphasis on stuff that was in the reveal than games though.

"The Xbox One is a total disaster on so many levels, I think It's really clear that Microsoft lost track of what customers and what developers wanted. I'd say, even at this late date, they should just cancel it and do a do over. Just say, 'This was a horrible disaster and we're sorry and we're going to stop marketing this and stop trying to convince people to develop for it'."

quite interesting that there aren't any developers praising x1 and MS for their hardware and direction. There were many when PS4 was announced.

The last two tweets pretty much nail it.

I think MS chose to do a lot of their non-gaming stuff yesterday as it was the lesser of two evils. Sony still have a lot of their non-gaming features up in the air.

I just hope they keep their promise of E3 being all games.

Some devs have been more outspoken than most in the past. CDProjekt doesn't really seem to care about all this stuff for example, and we heard from a lot of people after the PS4 reveal. Granted, most were praising the promises of Sony, hoping they would deliver.

Alan Kertz, lead gameplay designer on BF4, posted this on Twitter this morning:
"I think Gen 4 is now Sony's game."

Not a direct quite on the hardware but he's a dude that's very hardware focused and has been working extensively with both consoles so I'm sure that factors into the quote.

Yeah I'm really stoked to hear about all the games I'll be playing on my dystopian, anti-consumer tape player with mandatory camera.

E3 would have handled more in depth game reveals, but they could have teased more than COD and thrown a bone for the Internet to pick over with a few quick flashes of different games.

Showing a new console and banging on about watching TV and waft was a bit.
