Yes it is, if Sony don't implement it console wide but allows the option for devs to do it on a game by game basis, then it is out of their hands.
Why not outrage over a clear answer from Sony for months now?

Actually it is. Because I can openly avoid games by publishers that pull this shit and buy other games by non cunty developers.

Steam is always online, so is Origin and I doubt you will find used PC games anywhere (hint once a CD key is used, you can't resell it)
