I wonder if double tweeting it is a good idea?
Triple? ... or would that be going overboard?

No. Don't needlessly do that. Just tweet once. It's more impactful if every tweet represents a different individual.

The code in the disc isn't your property, even if they do end up allowing you to sell the disc with no DRM.

It's all semantics by that point, though. It's like arguing you can't resell a book because you didn't write it, or you don't own the text the book was written with.

Ultimately, this used game thing should be up to the publisher. My problem with XBONE is the requirement of HDD installation and account locked verification to the console. PS4 shouldn't be this draconian if they want to pick up any fleeing XBONE deserters.

Don't forget #PS4RegionFree.

Good point - markets should be global.

I wouldn't in one night. But after some time passes, sure.

In fact it would make sense to just shoot another one off in a week or so. Just a gentle reminder that we're still here and we still know what we do and don't want.

Another Tweet examples :

@yosp Please avoid anti-2nd hand policies, always online DRM, paid online multiplayer and region lock for #PS4,#Sony!#PS4NoDRM #PS4USEDGAMES

@yosp Please skip @Microsoft's anti-2nd hand policies,online DRM,paid online multiplayer and region lock in #PS4! Don't be like #XboxOne!

The idea is to get more exposure with your tweets by mentioning both related people (see the OP to get some examples), the hastags of this topic (#PS4NoDRM #PS4USEDGAMES PS4RegionFree), related popular hastags (#PS4 #Playstation #Sony #Xbox #XboxOne) and corporation accounts (@Playstation @Sony @Microsoft @Xbox). Also please try to don't repeat always exactly the same tweets if possible.

thnx for the tip :)

Man, this is beautiful. So used to just seeing people sit back and do nothing. Or worse, defend companies to the death or stuff like this. I cringe everytime I think of the people who defended Nintendo's lack of an account system, region locking, and online passes.

Alright GAF, you win. Off to make a Twitter account.

I understand people's disbelief on whether sending a tweet will make any sort of change. So much of our world outside of gaming suggests that no one cares about the consumer/citizen outside the majority. It also seems that the people/consumers could care less as well.

But just as there are folks who are unswayed by what the people want, there are those who are. A board room of directors who don't have public twitter accounts may not think about the effects of DRM, but that one guy at the table (in this case Yoshida) very well may have a different view, since he's facing the public. Maybe he succeds/fails in swaying the group, but at least the public got the opinion at the table.

Furthermore, Sony has been clawing its way back from the depths of red ink hell. The playstation division has instituted PS Share website, PS Blog, put out corporate twitter accounts in an effort to gather feedback from their customers. We know alot of this feedback has directly affected the design of the Vita/PS3/PS4. I'm not saying this means we directly impact all business decisions, but seeing as they've provided an avenue, we should at least take advantage of it.

we shall overcome someday

tyranny will end
DRM will bend
used games shall be on our disc trays one day

So we're finally admitting that we need Kotaku? It's like Kotaku is batman and neogaf is Joker.

As I mentioned on the previous page, Kotaku has an article up, but doesn't mention the GAF part of the story.

http://kotaku.com/rumor-the-ps4-has-used-games-drm-509969406

Kotaku got up a story, but I don't think Plunkett's visited GAF today, as it only cover's Keighley's Bonus Round mention.

I've also posted a story on my site. Hopefully it'll attract some more attention.

Edit: VG247, too: http://www.vg247.com/2013/05/27/sony-reconsidering-used-games-drm-following-xbox-one-reveal-rumour/

did my part, which by definition is about the least i could do - wasn't enough room for both hashtags & the other 2 demands, so i opted for #RegionFree instead of #FreeOnline...i feel i made the right call here, GAF!
