Lol, it would not be a waste at all to give us gameplay walkthroughs of Infamous, Knack, and DriveClub. same with Destiny, we "saw" it at the reveal but this time they're giving us a legit look at it, and I'm curious to see it :)

I think it would be a waste to show all of them on stage during the presser. They can show gameplay of all of those games at E3 without burning press conference time on them. Call me selfish, but the only one I want to see on stage is inFamous. Destiny is going to be there, and I'm guessing that'll be a substantial walkthrough, so that's at least 20 minutes of a 90-minute presentation chewed up. Considering Sony's love of NUMBERS NUMBERS NUMBERS, they need to save as much time as possible for new shit.

DriveClub and Knack can be demoed to the press at Sony's booth.

I really hope this multiple SKU stuff goes away next gen. The only thing I liked about the X1 reveal was that it seemed to point to a single SKU.

why don't you like multiple SKUs? it doesn't fundamentally change anything about the system. For example, what would be wrong with a premium SKU whose only difference is a larger hard-drive?

Wild arms will forever now become a handheld game. Legend of Dragoon. who are the original devs. Are they even around.

Level 5 should consider bringing back dark cloud. actually they should consider making a game akin to Rogue Galaxy. This is a really good opportunity to make a game like WKC target render happen with the power of Cell8 GDDR5 of ram and the infinite power of the clouds to back them up. and lol.

I wouldn't be against Wild ARMs being on the Vita, considering how powerful the Vita is. They could make another games in the XF style or make something more traditional, and it would probably still be a step up graphically from the PS2 games. Plus it would probably sell better.

Forgot about Level 5. I wouldn't mind them making a new game similar to Rogue Galaxy. They could probably push the PS4 pretty well, too!

Yeah i should have put waste time in quote " ".

Is White Knight Chronicles first party? Wasn't that an exclusive JRPG? I recall it wasn't well received. Wasn't there a sequel as well?

Yep. WKC 2. Wasn't it only released in Europe?

Got so hyped for the first game from those target render trailers with the great music shown for the PS3 and got so disappointed by the end result. Sigh.

no, WKC2 was released here. by different publisher. i think the psp version (White Knight Chronicles Origin) was only released there.

yeah I'm gonna have to disagree with you lol. Seeing Infamous and Destiny, or any of the other titles isn't 'chewing up' or 'burning' press conference time. The only one I don't want to see is Killzone because they've done a proper walkthrough for that and I already know I'm buying it. That can be for the floor.

Also, i don't think Sony has done 'numbers' in quite a while.

Well, Sony's gotta have an unprecedented partnership with someone..

MS has EA
Nintendo has Sega
Sony has ???

Activision (partially? for Destiny exclusive DLC)
Ubisoft (there's exclusive Watch dogs DLC isn't there? or am I thinking of something else?)

This is Sony's chance to wow the media, especially since MS is going to be dropping exclusives left and right. If they focus solely on gameplay demos of games that were already announced six months before E3...it's not going to go well for them. They have to counter MS' very clearly telegraphed aggressive stance. People want the new shit.

That's not to say they shouldn't show those games, but they have to balance entirely new reveals (especially big ones) with what they already have. Especially since they're also going to waste time talking about multimedia features, whereas MS is saying they're ALL about the games at E3.

Sony has to be aggressive. They have to fight fire with fire. They may have the higher ground right now, but they can't get lazy.

MS only revealed 3 games. If you're judging each conference on new shit we haven't seen before, it's going to be hard for Sony to top them based on that fact alone.

Internet pissing contests aside, I just want to see good games. Infamous, Drive Club and Knack seem like good games.

if all the GAF insiders' teases are anything to go by, like Sony having an "avalanche of games", Sony's E3 being "one to remember", and Sony's first parties being "ready for war", I'm not worried :)

I don't think anything is ever going to come of that. Rockstar got lazy, and they're hoping nobody remembers.

It doesn't have to be an entire game, it could just be exclusive DLC on certain Take-two products.

A megaton would be GTAV next gen version exclusive only to PS4. I think that takes care of any prior IOUs lol.

The hype is beyond measure.

I've been thinking a lot about The Witness. I think besides Gran Turismo's future, that's what I want to play the most right now. The trailer shown at the PS4 reveal was endearing, I just adore that music.

And yet no RPGs. Sony is the only console manufacturer with no first-party RPG franchise (WRPG or JRPG), and it's a massive hole in their lineup. Currently, the only presently-announced PS4 games I'm interested in are inFamous 3 and The Witcher 3.

Wait, what? compared to the 360 PS3 was awash in JRPGs at least far and beyond what MS had. I don't see any reason to believe this next gen is going to be any different...

Pretty much all of those were third-party. Demon's Souls is the only first-party RPG they released this gen (aside from WKC), and now they don't even have that. They need an RPG franchise they can be proud of - and keep HOLD of.

They can really only fuck up by announcing DRM or a $500 price. There's zero reason to doubt the software we'll see.

There's no way (imo) we don't see some form of used game DRM. It just doesn't seem possible. I could see a lighter one than Microsoft but no DRM for games? That's a pipe dream in my book.

Poor Folklore. Its existence is totally forgotten now. One of the biggest tragedies of this generation :(

I agree though they really need a staple RPG. Its a shame they're seemingly giving on Japan rather than expanding there, personally I feel like Japan Studio has released a lot of neat games and have plenty on the slate this year but yeah.

There was someone asking if Guerrilla was really making an RPG or if it was just a far out rumor. Well we know they're making a new IP, but no confirmation on the genre. Their job postings lead some people to believe it is an RPG/adventure though. I've heard other things (rumors) like it having a fantasy setting.

Housemarque

I think thatgamecompany is going multiplatform moving forward. Insomniac could be back in the fold following the disappointing reception of Fuse.

I loved Folklore. It was the game that prompted me to buy my PS3 in the first place instead of waiting for Versus. I don't consider it an RPG, though...it's an action game, really.

Japan Studio should make a PS4 RPG, but I'd also like to see one of SCEA or SCEE's studios take a crack at it too. Cover both bases.

I'm expecting publisher freedom to do what they please but nothing system wide.

So, Sony gets there press conference in a day before Nintendo drops the bombs in their Direct. This shall be interesting.

I am now convinced that The Last Guardian will be there on ps4 for a re-reveal.

I feel like you've just confessed your certitude for fairy tales. I would love to see it but I think a post-lawsuit Kevin Butler is more likely to be there than the The Last Guardian (and that ain't likely).
