Whatever Microsoft is cooking, Kinect is not the end of "gimmicks" coming to the Xbox One.
Those leaked slides last year mentioned an Occulus Rift type device named Fortaleza.
Yep.

Neither Conker or Banjo would probably end up selling well unfortunately. That train has sailed.

I think Banjo has a better chance at selling.
The Xbox doesn't have any exclusive platformers for quite a number of years.
There's plenty of hype in the thread, it's just hard to see when there's only like.... 20 different regular posters who post here. Other Xbox fans have gone and got themselves banned, and everyone else is just more hyped for the PS4.
But who knows, come E3 that might change.
I wonder if that means Xbox 360 backwards compatibility through the cloud in 2015.
Hm.

Did they all get perma or temped banned?
Microsoft is going to have to have blow my mind at e3 if they want to justify my purchase!
As others have said, just give us better games. I know Microsoft isn't making them directly but I sometimes wonder if they are spending so much time on non-game things that I have little to no interest in. I am sure others do care about Kinect and others....I just prefer games.
Does anyone else think they should have a pack-in game? Maybe directly on the HDD since they're going to be mandatory this time?
I know, I know, obviously as consumers we want the most bang for our buck as possible, but I think a pack in game immediately sweetens the value proposition for almost all people, not to mention it introduces an IP to as many people (who buy the console) as possible.
Maybe it's just a Nintendo thing, but games like Super Mario World and Kinect Sports were HUGE reasons as to why people bought those systems. Hell, I think that's one of the savviest moves Nintendo made during the cut-throat Genesis/SNES era. I think a great game packed in immediately makes people a little more keen on that large price-tag. I know it's bad for short-term revenue, as it removes the sales of one possible game, but Microsoft is obviously thinking long-term, and this is going to be one of, if not the longest generation ever. Hell, maybe they do it with a big name F2P game instead of a traditional 60$ title.

What do you mean by that? If you mean 1st party games, then they definitely are making them directly.
I think Kinect sports should be packed in
Of course, they will, even if it's something as bland as Hexic HD (which was crazy amazing at the time actually).
I think what would be awesome, would be a choice of 1 of 3 unscaled versions of XBLA games. Like Castle Crashers, Splosion Man and Peggle.
Well, if the rumours are true about a console exclusive version of League of Legends, why not just automatically install it on every X1 that's sold. It's free to play, so why not.
Unless I'm missing something that would make that a terrible idea.

Both are great ideas. Kinect Sports HD (or whatever) to showoff the new Kinect capabilities and the other to bring people to the online goodies.

OMG DID YOU GUYS HEAR ABOUT LOST ODYSSEY 2?!?!?! I haven't ;_;
GUYS!!
Guys
guys...
How about a Panzer Dragoon with a control scheme like Child of Eden?
Yeah, all listed above sound good. But, if smart (and by smart I mean, what I want) what would be awesome is a nintendoland like game. To really show off the the kinect but not with sports. I've had my fill with sports, between nintendo/sony/and MS I'm done with casual sports. I liked nintendoland. So, I would love a mini game-athon.
A horror game to take advantage of recognizing heartbeat. Some other kind of arcadey racing game with head movement. Maybe an arcadey mech game (since the kinect one was fucking broken). I'd love a cheesy, fishing that could capture how much your 'pulling' back on your rod and make sure you're not breaking your line... etc. I think they need a series of games that actually shows Kinect 2 actually works.
Problem is I don't think they're touting full kinect games anymore. I'd say 60% of their focus is for Apps and the OS,30% for subtly enhancing controller games, and 10% for kinect only games, which will come from their 4 Kinect studios and Just Dance/Dance Central.

Oh shit. That got me hyped. Once again it's on.
In case you forgot or don't know who Victor Lucas is.
Lucas and Tommy Talerico co-hosted Electric Playground, a great review/preview show on G4.
Wow, the dislike count on any Xbox One video that is even slightly positive is ridiculous. Not that it really matters, but still..
Anyway, it seems that everyone at Microsoft is very confident for their E3 reveal, so it should be interesting to see what sort of announcements are to be made.
Those guys were great, really miss them not working together anymore. Almost met Victor Lucas last year here in Toronto last year but I was too late.
Platformer would be awesome. New Crackdown would be amzing. I would love to see crackdown where you can kick someone through a building and see the building be destroyed from doing this. New gears would be awesome but I'm thinking that open world minecraft game they showed off? I forget what it was called? Killer Instict 3 Halo Spin off would be a nice fresh breath of air into the series. I would really like Halo wars though. I wonder if Black Tush will show since Don Said he wanted to but Phil said no.
Totally, their chemistry on EP was always fantastic.
Until Tommy walked off the set because Victor was trying to give a terrible baseball game a decent score.
That 3KB video is a very good take on the actual situation here. I admit, I was extremely hyped before the reveal, and then that hype very quickly deflated and turned almost into a sort of bias towards Microsoft, because of the gaming worlds mantra against the system at the time. I mean, just hearing so much negatively switched some sort of logic meter in my mind and I turned a bit biased and wrote off the system, but not completely. It was easy to join the shouting side with so many people with that opinion already. I've always enjoyed PS more as I grew up with it, but I've also had a regular 360 and a slim, on which I very much enjoyed Gears for long periods of time. After seeing this video and having all the hate die down a bit more, I feel different, because there is so much more to be said, so many more games to be shown and things to be clarified, such as exactly how the used game thing and all that will work. In the end, I hope they do what they say and show mostly games if not all games, and the title I most look forward to is from Black Tusk Studios, partly because the studio name is so beefy and badass. The hype is back in business baby!
As far as the negativity I want to at least want to let them explain the negatives and benefits of there systems before raising pitchforks. It may not be as draconian as we think....
