Dunno about the lambo but i remember a comparative made by fifth gear between a Ferrari FF ( only 4x4 Ferrari, full of dedicated electronics for driving on slippery roads ) and some similar Aston Martin. They were driving fast but struggling A LOT for sure.

Supercars have by definition every possible bad caracteristic for snow driving... huge tires, low ride height, hard suspensions, you name it.
Oh I know that. But people like to break games, and more power to them. :)

I'm not saying I want the arcade feel (I really don't) and I agree with you on how a car would handle with such weather. But I still want more weather choices. And I would be more than fine using a rally car on ice tires in Drive Club!

I would like to too, having the choice to use the right tool for the work :)

The problem for me is that it looks like we're only having supercars in this game, that's why i was thinking that snow could have been a bad choice.

Lord Error

Insane For Sony
Textures are fine, your ability to account for variable lighting conditions and depth of field are the only things that need fixing.
Also those things around the grass on the side are pretty clearly some water or icy puddles.
There's been some screens that show the road in-focus and it looked sharp as hell.

Best goddamn racer of the generation. A next-gen sequel to apocalypse needs to happen.

DriveClub blow out in OPM, released this Friday:

To usher in the new era, we secured exclusives for a quartet of PS4′s biggest games: Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Call Of Duty: Ghosts, Driveclub, and Watch Dogs.

That just looks like a plain cockpit view to me. It's somewhat small, but it really doesn't look much different than the quick glimpses that we saw in the unveil trailer.

Mmmm.. hopefully so. We soon shall see. Can't wait to see this being played at E3.

Man, I really hope it's just not a more realistic Motorstorm. I really disliked Motorstorm but am hoping this is the driving savior until we see a proper GT.

Getting Porsche is big news, I can't wait to get my hands on this game.
I'm surprised the news doesn't have its own thread.

Eh? Why would you have RUF and Porsche? RUF seems to be where you go when you can't license Porsche.

Forza 4 had both RUF and Porsche, I had no single problem with it.

However, the picture they are referring to in Twitter conversation is the premiere image with black RUF - at least it was consensus it was RUF.

Interesting nonetheless but now with realistic expectations (read as :none).

Hate to burst your bubble but that could easily just be a RUF.

Forza Motorsport 4 didn't get Porsche until a expansion pack was released, this was ultimately caused by EA.

But wasn't that because they originally didn't have Porsche? That came through DLC after the game was released. I'll wait for Rushy to confirm that it's Porsche since I don't think we've heard anything about their contract expiring with EA.

Then it is 90% confirmed for GT6 too. Licenses like that - especially Porsche - are granted on platform bases and held by publishers usually as history teaches us.

Well, count me impressed. This could be the real megaton here.
Well, holy shit. Consider me (almost) sold on it.

Although while it may be per "platform", PS3's GT6 might not make the cut for it. Maybe. Or maybe it will, I dunno!

Maybe no Porsche in FM5?

Edit: Interesting that pic was ultimately deduced (somewhat) to be a RUF. Pulse back to normal now.

As I have learned it was all a deliberate ploy in order to capitalise on DLC packs and popularity of particular brand.

They had agreement with EA to use the Porsches but they apparently decided to leave them for later DLC in order to get extra profits once announced and released. RUF were used for initial release and Porsches were held-back to be released later as they were. Of course, official story was different.

I can't provide any faithful source on this (no links, etc.), so it is maybe just a gossip. But it sounded very reasonable and plausible backthen.

Give me a break this wasn't a ploy at all, EA picked up the license and was holding the brand as a selling point for their NFS games. Turn 10 had to make a deal in order to get Porsche from them and ended up having to pay for it.

Honestly how are you guys making this stuff up?

They use the same chassis and body but apart from that they're a different manufacturer (as recognised by the German government) so no they are not.

Are you honestly going to sit here and try to say that a RUF is not a Porsche?

I don't care what the German Government says about it.

Looks like a RUF RT12S, actually I'm going to go as far as confirming it as a RUF.

That front bumper seems to be a unique RUF design.

Well, yes, RUF is not a Porsche.

Where is the problem?

When you register a RUF, it says RUF as manufacturer and model on car documents.

It is not a Porsche. Same as BRABUS for example. Brabus is not Mercedes.

Semantics, it is still a Porsche to 99% of the people that see them.

Ruf Automobile GmbH is a German automobile manufacturer. Rufs are built from unmarked Porsche bodies and chassis. When a chassis arrives, Ruf builds their own independent work into the car. Because Ruf installs many of their own-made parts instead of simply badge engineering, the company is recognised as a manufacturer by the German government. Ruf is mostly known for their CTR Yellowbird, and is the biggest and most renowned company to make Porsche performance enhancements. Ruf has also made a name for itself as an automobile refiner, specialist in vintage restoration and rebuilds of classic Ruf and Porsche automobiles. Ruf also carries out service and crash repair.

Every RUF starts it's life as a unmarked Porsche body/chassis...

BRABUS is a aftermarket tuner company that specializes in Mercedes-Benz vehicles.

Wow, what an argument. What is this, GameFAQ?

I am perfectly aware of RUF to every extent imaginable, but bottom line is that RUF is not a Porsche. Porsche is Porsche, RUF is RUF. I really see no debate here mate.

No it's called reality, welcome. Every RUF starts as a Porsche built body and chassis that isn't marked so it isn't beyond any stretch of the imagination to call it a Porsche.

I hate to break your feelings but the developer is wrong, that car is indeed a RUF.

You certainly have some issues man. I do not discuss what is "common conception" or "common perspective" or whatever. When you bring in discussion, than do not discuss in approximations or conceptions but in finites and facts.

RUF is RUF, Porsche is Porsche. When you register your RUF it says RUF on the licence.

Same as for BRABUS.

Of course everyone knows what are the *bases* for building them, but authorities and companies have basis to claim the originality of the brand and it is both officially recognised and officially registered as standalone manufacturer with appropriate status.

RUF is RUF, Porsche is Porsche.

I really can't understand why are you so stubborn.

I hate to break your feelings but the developer is wrong, that car is indeed a RUF.

What feelings? What is this above? Oh, I see. You probably missed my own post above. Whatever. You are really a strange person.

That is correct.

Even RUF themselves describes their cars as "enhanced Porsches".
Every single page on their website mentions Porsche.

Dude we all know RUF's looks like Porsche's lmao anyone with eyes can see that.
However RUF differentiates itself with enough of its own parts to be classified as a separate manufacturer.

Therefore calling a RUF a porsche is nothing more than a sign of ignorance.

Better complain to RUF themselves then...

3800s
With the 3800 S RUF marries the 911 drivetrain to the mid-engined chassis of the Porsche Boxster 981

RGT 8
The current Porsche 911 forms the basis for the RGT-8 chassis which is then further optimized with bodywork components from RUF.

CTR3
The chassis is essentially composed of two segments. The front end of the car is based on the Porsche 911, the 997 series, in order to benefit from the crash structure, which the 911 provides. The cockpit and rear-end of the car were designed in-house.

future
RUF Automobile GmbH is developing various electric-powered sports vehicles based on the Porsche 911 for the purpose of running field tests of electric vehicles in real life situations.

etc.
