My first endeavour into the MS thread, hello everybody.

Has there been any info as to the role of the XBL Silver tier for Xbox One?

I'm thinking that given that single player games are now becoming designed such that they are 'alive worlds' where you have a other players in your game (Watch_Dogs) and we will have heavy reliance on the cloud - using it as a resource to improve games - would the free XBL Silver still be a viable option for MS, or if more games like Watch Dogs put other players into your single player experience does that give a nod to the only option being XBL Gold?

A GAF insider says gold is going to be mandatory for everyone. Now that... would be a tough pill to swallow.

Hello, I am curious about this myself, but this is the E3 conference thread mate, probably not the best place to ask this.

1 hour to go right? I.am.ready.

I'd not be surprised to see some games with a "Requires XBL Gold account" banner on it, sort of like "Requires Expansion Pack" appeared on some N64 games back in the day. I bet this requirement, as you're speculating, could even hit single-player games.

So yeah I'm assuming Microsoft is bring Killer Instinct to the table. Doesn't mean much to me personally, but anybody hype to the possibility?

Wouldn't be surprised if any game that made extensive use of the 'cloud' would be behind a paywall. We'll have to see.

I remember when GameTrailers was just game trailers.

It's the MTV kind of situation. People can watch any video game trailer as soon as they come out, in HD, on their consoles, on their phones, through YouTube or DD or whatever. To stay relevant, they have to create original shows and content exclusive to their channel/website.
