Fei and Id redux.

That's what I was beginning to think. I mean, it'd help explain Shulk lookalike's abrupt appearance at the end of the first trailer. But then I think that it could be just a simple cosmetic change (like what formerly Silver-haired chick went through). I wouldn't put it past Takahashi to incorporate appearance-changing alter-ego dynamics, though.

The Mecha that Raven Hair is constantly around are the same too in both trailers.

Actually, they're different, I think. The one in the second trailer doesn't have the giant sword, dual-cannons, the same breastplates, or head as the one in the first.

Oh wait, Mr. Bulky is in the second trailer too. He's walking with the giant mecha at 1:20 along with Ms. Pigtails and Ms. Gunlance.

I thought that, too. However, take a look at heavy armor dude in the first trailer. His hair is very flat, with no visible layers. The guy with the heavy armor in the second trailer. His hair different. Actually, it's identical to Mr. Raven's Hair. Going to bed in a bit, but find a scene where you can see directly behind Mr Raven Hair; pause it; then go to the specific scene where you see Heavy Armor dude. Go at it frame by frame, look very closely, and you'll see he has the same hair volume as Mr Raven Hair as well as layers. Either he got a makeover too, or that's Mr Raven Hair in that armor.

Bleh, will have to come back to this some other time. Sorry for the lack of visual aids, but I'm really tired, lazy, and sleepy right now. :p

The one thing I don't like is that the game looks a bit too realistic and too grey.

The game isn't grey at all. The grounded tones work exceptionally well to deliver that primordial look it seems to be aiming for. And it's not lacking in color either; it's very colorful, it's just that it's not as vibrant as Xenoblade (a vibrancy that'd be totally out of place in this game seeing the direction it's headed in).

You'll at least know what "efficient" means, won't you? It means that it's the CPU which real world results are closest to it's theoretical performance.

Um that is a pretty shitty goal post fyi. Please lets not take into account metrics like performance per wattt per dollar, bandwidth, throughput or the fact that AMD CPU have a history of being very capable of having real world result come close to their theoretical potential.

But please continue.

I think all the characters just got some form of makeover. The armors are the same though, so I'm going to assume that he just got a hair makeover just like Raven Hair and Ms. Gunlance.

Also, considering how different Fiora looked in Monado vs Xenoblade, these changes aren't surprising at all.

Another thing is after watching that IGN Rewind video, you can have up to four characters in a party (which I'm ridiculously happy about): Ravenhair, Pigtails, Gunlance, Bulky.

Yeah, I'm not gonna read too much into it and chalk it up to being simple cosmetic changes for the time being.

holy cow!

one of the most beautiful thing everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I don't know how much i could give to see Matsuno join Takahashi san and making a jrpg together!

This title alone make wii u existance worth!

I don't know that it's going to be released simultaneously, but I can say that an NOE employee slipped to me that localization is occurring alongside development.

This is not a guarantee of anything (it could be halted or pulled or sat on for literally any reason), but there you go.

I actually think the player can choose to play as a male or female. There might even be some form of customisation beyond that, like classes, or just appearance.
It would explain why there are so many different player characters in the trailers.

OR it could just be like in xenoblade where you are free to choose between which party member you want to play.
(which is more likely)

Vote X.

Yeah it falls under "Other", while garbage stupid ass Halo CG teaser is listed.

Sadly, that's pretty much to be expected. This isn't the first time a great game is marginalized because it's on a nintendo console.

Ohhh, thanks for letting us know. Worldwide or not, it seems we won't have to wait for too long.

There is definitely that element in the trailer but it doesn't explain the straight black haired girl that wears the same sword as the protagonist. She appears in that night scene with the dinosaur and the moon.

There are for sure four characters of focus which I mentioned before.

You don't happen to know if the localization will be similar to Xenoblades(i.e British voices) or did that not come up?

Also I'm surprised that people don't consider the trailer to have been bullshots, it looks significantly better than any Wii U games shown & considering the scale of the game surely it can't look that good, right?

I can see that being the case as well. The black haired female character looks way too similar to the black haired male character though. It's like she's just a female version of a default character. We'll see though.

I hope NOE employee also implies localisation in Europe. We need the same team as last time.

Does this mean that NoE is again in charge of the localization or are you referring to the Ger/Fre/Spa/It translations?

Since Bravely Default seems to be worked on by NoE as well, it's kinda crazy to think that the European side of Nintendo seems to be the go-to adress for RPG localizations these days.

That is good to know or hope though. I don't mind a small delay as long as it's released in a reasonable time frame. A repeat of Xenoblade should not and can not happen again.

Given there's free flight and not limited boosting like Gundam VS I'm expecting it to work like a half-flight simulator + action RPG attacks. Maybe like ACE.

Compare the first Xenoblade trailer to the final game, or this trailer to the first trailer for X shown back in January - Monolith isn't exactly known for bullshots, so the final game will probably look even better than this trailer.

Man... How can a game of that huge a scope still have that much tiny, waving vegetation? And the beasts grazing across the lake... Absolutely incredible.
The vegetation does look good, and the draw distance is amazing, but those plants are definitely 2d sprites like Xenoblade. I'm not saying that's bad, just an observation.

I certainly feel like Nintendo is flicking more so to this model. More and more of their games are releasing within weeks of each other now, instead of months.

I'm pretty sure that is the protagonist. Although it does look like he has a bigger ass. But it's dark so his hair is darker too.

And the other two girls are confusing too. You have the one with the bigass sword/gun and another with a smaller but heavier looking gun (?), but they all have this dark short hair.

I guarantee the characters will be player made. They look way too boring as they are to be lead JRPG characters. The main guy looks like the male default character to me.

I REALLY hope Nintendo can find some way to make this one of their better performing series. The kind that is expected to be in planning/production almost constantly and appear every generation.

I'd rather them just let Monolith Soft keep making RPGs they want to and not be stuck with a series (unless they want to).

Provided the new game gets a big marketing push and is as well received as Xenoblade, I'd be surprised if it didn't do very well.

How the hell is the WiiU producing this sort of fidelity? Quit spending time on Mario Nintendo and fund beautiful looking games such as this.

In retrospect, I wish they showed more gameplay of how the RPG-ish parts work.

This is good, this is damn good.

Doubt this will be F2P. Looks way to singleplayer for me, with the standard character cast. Wouldn't even know how a F2P model works on this. Pay for doll fuel?

I still feel the opposite, we haven't seen a party that is clearly player + AI yet (the closest example was in the first trailer, but it was the same scene that had the chat box and "Player #" characters), and the big open fields with mechs laying around all over the place seem to lend themselves well to an online-focused co-op game. And thinking on it, the whole mech thing does seem like it would be awkward for AI characters, if there's just one and you get in, transform, fly away, what happens to your party?

Also considering we haven't really seen anything of a story, it leads me to think this might not really be story-driven, which would also make sense for an online-focused game. But who knows what we haven't seen yet. I know people are like "It's Takahashi! Of course it's going to be a story driven single player game!" But you never really know. All we can do at this point is speculate.

It's still a mystery, definitely. The only things we can safely assume are that 1) it is going to have some kind of online multiplayer and 2) that given the developer's pedigree it's unlikely to be an MMO without story.

I don't think the lack of story cutscenes implies a non-existing story, however. Given that Nintendo still is being very mysterious about the game, I'm sure that we won't get any story details for as long as they won't announce the game's title. The two trailers so far seem more like teasers with the big reveal yet to come. I expect a full unveal in September, honestly.

Another side note, I don't think that the mechs/people standing around in the field are indicative of an online game. If you pay attention, you see that the characters in the environment almost never actually move. Looks more like NPCs to me.
