I just noticed that one of the guys in the top 10 (VTR_puzzle, pos #6, qualifying time trial) is using a controller, how the bloody hell did he manage to get into the top 10, a place were everyone is using a racing wheel.

Ok played a bit more and the physics actually do help the shitty chase camera.
The new suspension stuff really makes the car feel like its actually part of the world and not just like its a static part of the HUD like it does in 4 and 5. Would still love a more "free" chase camera with fill 360 camera control with the right stick.
Maybe with GT7 on PS4. They can move gas and break off the right stick and on to the triggers now they have proper triggers and free up that stick.

I played a bit last night, the first lap tutorial lap was boring and really convinced me that I just don't care about racing games anymore. But then the first cup race was with a Leaf, and since I drive a Versa I figured why not. Somehow having a slow electric car made it fun, and I really enjoyed that first race.

Yeah, you can just change your PS3's date to the 29th and you'll be able to do that event. I just took this photo:
Funnily enough, when you start GT Academy 2013 it says "The time/date is not correct" but it still lets you enter it anyway.

Give it a day or two. The top times will be in the 2:16's easy.
Set your date forward on your ps3 to the date the event unlocks.

The new suspension and physics makes me want a good in car solution, something like the rift. I want to be able to look around and out the windows as I'm driving. Like others have said the cars feel more apart of the world and not just some static box moving around. I want to look into the turns as the front end is dipping.

It's the same full track of silverstone with the GTR GT3 used by Kaz in the last 24hrs of Nurburgring, screenshot posted above.
Customize your controls, set your R3 Left/Right to Look Left/Look Right. Use cockpit view, press left or right on R3. Not the full thing, but it's something.
GT7 with an Occulus Rift would be the best thing to happen.

I did 20 laps yesterday to get down to a 2:20.229..
And like the other Academies, the fact you have to just pendulate towards the apex and it carries massive forward momentum makes it less rewarding, so I'm not sure how much more time I'll put into it..
Still, I can't wait for GT6, I need some racing 'fix' this year..

God damn you guys put me to shame....my best time is 2:22 for silverstone. Pfft wheel users. I like how the playlist for the demo are all daiki Kasho songs though, pushes me to go faster. Was that intentional? If so well played PD.
it was just a quick first attempt in order to get the GTR but I think I can reach 2.19 or 2.20
Had another hour at the first four trials for last night. I'm competitive in 2 to 4, but for some reason I can't figure out 1... I guess I'll have to download a ghost, although I don't like doing that if I can avoid it.
Oh and when I try the full lap I suck as I get totally confused as to what's coming up next, damn featureless Silverstone!

Well, not true, because I am not joking.
If I understood well, Claspan will offer them variety of services, from data of suspension modelling to aerodynamics and probably some tyre-flex data. But I think how Pirelli data from FM4 (which probably covers much more variables regarding tyre-physics on top of anything that can be offered by company as Calspan) will be used in FM5.
I mean, only complete lunatics would disregard data got straight from tyre-manufacturer. And even without joking regarding Silverstone race, the Pirelli test center has the best data in Europe and probably among the TOP3 in the world.

Great job with pics Wax (as always, God bless CFW) - could you do some Silverstone grabs, especially with unlocked GT3? Is it possible to grab the same spots on track under different lightning (time of day) conditions?

I know, my main problem is 100 friend limit, because of my community.
