Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed |OT| Everybody's Super Sonic Racing

What are they changing exactly? Just the AI?

With traffic attack specifically I think some challenges have less cars now. I played one recently that gives you tank ammo to shoot at traffic, and I don't think that was there in the unpatched version.

They're all still pretty hard, though, so don't get all bent out of shape that they're too easy now or anything. They just aren't nearly impossible anymore.

I just updated the game on steam and I don't know what is supposed to fix this patch but I just lost all the time attacks records on the process...

Got the PC version with the Sonic bundle on gamefly. Holy hell this game is amazing. It looks phenomenal on PC and the gameplay is so much fun. LOVE the way the tracks change mid race. Great sense of speed, balanced items and great online. So good.

Does anyone else have problems getting into online games on the Wii U version? My brother says he doesn't have problems, but every time I try I can never connect to anything.

Sumo Digital are running a programming workshop where you can go and ask the developers questions and have a go at working with their engine for the day!

http://www.steelminions.com/gamesbritannia/?q=node/5

"This workshop will reveal secrets of the gameplay programming behind Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing Transformed and provide you with access to Sumo Digital's own in-house engine to have a go at creating your own version of the game's "Boost Challenge" mode running on the PlayStation 3. This incredible hands-on workshop will be designed to give a glimpse of the game coding process, explore creative implementations to problems and give students pointers to best working practices in the industry."

Really cool of them to do this, would have dropped by if I was any closer. Ah you have to apply of course, 20 spots.

so i got this game on the wii u to race with some friends, but, when I try to join an online game with them it doesn't even give me an option even when it shows them as being online.

so i don't know what's going on, but it's frustrating, never had this problem with the PS3 version. Help! what am i doing wrong.

Sorry to bump but can this be played two players with a gamepad and a single wii mote??

Wii U version of course

according to the manual you can use the wiimote by itself.. but i don't know why you'd want to do such a thing, at the very least get a nun-chuck! this isn't the kind of game you want to be controlling with motion control. It's too fast for it.

Grabbed a nunchuck. Thanks Shadi! Did you ever figure out your connection issues?

Glad a nun-chuck works for you, i personally wouldn't be able to use it, but I've noticed most people don't seem to mind it, so i figured it would work for you, I need two hands on a controller when im playing an intense racing game.

as for the online issues, its not a connection issue, its just an issue of not being able to join friends in online games. Im guessing i have to create a custom game or join a custom game in order to play online with friends, unless we randomly end up in a match making game. I don't think I ever tried to join anyone without an invite on the PS3 version, so that might of been the same way, just might be the way the game is and i never knew it.

I just played the demo on a Wii U and had a blast! Which console version is considered to be the best and why? Definitely wanna pick this up.

Question regarding Wii U version: what controller does the second player use?

Wii U is actually the best console version. It has exclusive multiplayer modes + Off TV Play

The game works with all Wii U compatible controllers, which means that all Wii controllers work fine with it. So the second player can use whatever they want.

Wii remote, Wii remote + Nunchuk, Wii Classic Controller, Wii Classic Controller Pro, Wii U Game Pad, Wii U Pro Controller...they all work.

I just bought this game on 360 and it's a lot of fun. However, I don't feel like putting in all of the work to unlock all of the characters, I'd rather just jump into multiplayer. Is it possible to download a save file and play online with all of the characters unlocked somehow? I'd rather not get banned, so if it puts my account at risk, then forget it..

also, which console has the biggest playerbase? did I goof by picking the game up on 360 rather than PS3?

I really need to try this online. I love the fact that one can play on the gamepad while the other plays on the TV. The game completely caught me off guard with the awesome nostalgic levels. It pretty much had every game I played as a kid. Shinobi music, totally recognizable.

sorry this was kinda late but yes you can download a save and play it with everything unlocked. It won't really put your account at risk doing that at all and as for player base I can't really say.

i couldn't really remember how because i just mod my own gamesaves when i want something but this was just copied from another website
Download Modio,it has a search function to look for saves, it's useful as you use Modio to rehash and resign as well, what you do is search for the save you want, download it , save any game save from your own saves to a USB , then open that save (you can use midi for that as well) then copy your ids to the downloaded save, rehash and resign then inject that save to your USB , that's it
i haven't used modio in a really long time so if this doesn't make too much sense I'm sure there's plenty of tutorial vids on youtube explaining the process of doing it.

So Vectorman wasn't in the game largely for the same reason as Ristar, S0L just revealed today:

http://www.edge-online.com/features/the-art-of-sonic-all-stars-racing-transformed/

What kinds of reasons are there for certain fan favourite characters being left out?

SL: [...] A lot of fans out there say we don’t do enough Mega Drive games. It’s almost like a compliment that they think we can take just about anything and make it work in 3D. But the fact is that when you look at those games, there aren’t always a lot of points of reference. There’s not always guidance as to what’s iconic or what stands out. Vectorman, for example. In its time, it was a fantastic character, a really nice-looking game, and obviously it was emulated in Donkey Kong Country. But as soon as you try to make that work as a 3D model and see it from behind, it’s a lot of disconnected spheres. We’ve got to make this game bearing in mind that anyone can pick it up and empathise with the characters, and that’s actually quite difficult to do.
