We have more info on the website here for Episode 2 (and Episode 1) if you haven't explored yet: http://www.bioshockinfinite.com/burial-at-sea-ep2/

Thanks.

This DLC brings gamers something they have been asking for since they first met the character of Elizabeth: The chance to see the world through her eyes. You become Elizabeth as she seeks to bring closure to her story, and to BioShock Infinite’s. Like Episode 1, this DLC features Rapture as you’ve never seen it before—a shining jewel at the bottom of the ocean, built almost entirely from scratch in the BioShock Infinite engine. Gameplay has been modified to give the player an original BioShock combat experience that merges the best parts of BioShock and BioShock Infinite: new weapons, new Plasmids/Vigors, Tears, Sky-Lines, and Big Daddies. This pack is included in the BioShock Infinite Season Pass and will retail for $14.99 (1200 MS Points)

Hmm, so is this canon?

So is there going to be a thread for clash? Is here where we should post our thoughts on it? Because there are some things in it that we should talk about.
the spliced at the end who after he attacks you and the screen cuts to black I swore I heard Liz scream like maybe he was taking her through a tare into rapture maybe? Just a Easter egg I'm sure but is there anything else I'm missing here? I think I found all the audiologs, does anything happen if you get all the ribbons?

Anywho love CitC, played for a few hours yesterday and had a blast. Loved the combat in infinite so am having a lot of fun with this.

So I just went over to Amazon to buy the season pass and was momentarily surprised when it came out to $0. I had totally forgotten that I purchased Bioshock Infinite during a special deal where you get the Season Pass for free when it comes out.

So yeah, if you bought the game through Amazon prior to release, might want to look into that :p

Also: fuck yes.

I actually like the CITC DLC - you can play it in short bursts to make some money or play longer sessions for ribbons. The museum looks cool as well and the gunplay is fine I think (PC).

The best thing is the amount of hidden background information that confirms many of the posts I read back in the huge ass spoiler thread - pretty cool and I hope to dig out some more

I'm playing Bioshock Infinite for the first time atm.
I've just saved Elizabeth.
The game has been linear as fuck and, strangely, the combat has felt worse than the first game's due to the encounter design and lack of Big Daddy's (so far?). Does it open up / get considerably better?

That's the main thing that makes me skeptical about this DLC now. Rapture is not meant to host a hallway shooter.

Thanks so much for posting this, just checked mine and I got it for free as well.

Kind of, but not by much, the level design in infinite definitely pales in comparison to BS1 and 2.

Which brings me on topic to Burial at Sea, during the Destructoid interview Ken mentions...

I look at levels like the medical level in BioShock and Fort Frolick as sort of the right structural layout of things because they’re less linear, they’re more sort of the center. They feel organic to me, [but] buildings are designed in a hierarchical fashion […] where the more big action stuff tends to push you down a single corridor. It is a constant struggle to get the team around that non-linearity. We’ve definitely done a better job I think in this DLC than we did in Infinite.

That really is exciting news.

Most excellent. The sprawling level design is what I missed most from Infinite. And to bring more exciting news, Ken had this to say on Twitter:

Which makes me feel better about the combat. After reading the Eurogamer interview, I was beginning to worry if the combat in the DLC was going to be clumsy like BioShock's.

The way I understood Levine's original comments is that it would mimic Bioshock 1 more when it comes to planning out attacks. I enjoyed Infinite's combat but there wasn't as much of the sort of strategic planning you found in Bio 1/2, where you could often set things up before you trigger enemy attacks. In Infinite the enemies tend to attack and rush you as soon as they see you, so it definitely had a different overall feel.

Yeah it was a pre-order. Checked my e-mail and I had placed the order on March 25 (the day before release).

I didn't have to add any promotional code. It just subtracted the entire $19.99 instantly.

Kind of sad we won't be getting some crazy shit dealing with the other founders. I'm still disapointed you never really interact with Salton Stall like that early BI demo. Maybe timeline fuckery will lead to some of the new characters being in rapture.

Hey you. Not to toot my own horn, but I don't know if you saw this thread. :)

I did, and was greatly disappointed you didn't mention the glorious Minerva's Den. :D

I'll give it another go eventually. I didn't give it another proper shake after Infinite, and by time I was done with BioShock 2 I was knee-deep in schoolwork that needed to be done.

:( I pre-ordered the same day... never mind I remember now for some reason at the time of release or a few weeks after or whatever it wouldn't let you use it on the season pass just any 2k game so I got the Borderlands 2 season pass with it .. lol

So I only have one question outside of being extremely excited. Are both of these supposed to be part of the Season Pass. I got Clash of the Clouds for free because of Season Pass, but what about Burial at Sea?

I don't have a season pass, but I'm super hyped for Burial at Sea. Infinite is still my GOTY so far, but how is Clash in the Clouds? I know it's only $5, but I've never been a fan of of horde modes. Is there actual cool bonues or unlockables or anything related to the story of Infinite? I know there's like more voxophones and stuff, but the main reason I loved Infinite was because of the story, not really the combat per se. A horde mode sounds so infinitely boring to me and by the numbers, but if there's cool extra content I might be willing to bite.

Ok yeah, not doing the blue ribbon challenges. Fight 2 handymen and kill them both when they're hanging from a skyline? Nope.gif

Yeah some of the blue ribbon challenges are just plain mean. I got one that demands I kill 5 guys with one Devil's Kiss. Fuck you too CitC...

People shouldn't be so quick to dismiss this.
They built a nice museum with a lot of stuff to unlock with the money you get from fights which can be pretty addicting.
Each wave has an optional unique challenge like only using certain vigors or weapons, etc. I don't get why so many people have issues with the combat, skylines are so much fun.

A bit disappointed the DLC is set in Rapture.

Was hoping the see more unique areas in Columbia like the Ferris Wheel and other locations you see from a distance in the game.

That one is really not that hard. Use Charge to get up there and shoot them with the machine gun a bit to damage them and then throw a Devil's Kiss. Make sure you have the gear equipped that does chain damage and then just watch the world burn.

This must be a typo, but still going to point it out. West Studio is a pretty well known art outsourcing company and on their news page this popped up:

Insomniac Games? Huh? I think it's a typo.

The rest of the recent news listings have correct names though:
