(If you are) Why are you getting a PS4?

So why are you picking up Sony's next console?

Two caveats:

1. Don't mention price.
2. Don't mention negatives about any other platform.

Just give me the positives of the PS4.

Full disclosure: I am getting an Xbox One day 1 and have no interest in the PS4 but want to hear the positives about it from those who are getting it.

The Playstation platform gets all the games I want and it offers services I find superior to other platforms. It's a no brainer really.

I've always gotten at least one next gen console at launch and the PS4 was the no brainer for me. I would be breaking your rule 2 if I said why, I suppose, but it's more powerful than the XB1, and no Kinect. Plus I love Sony's first party studios.

I started this gen with a 360. I got my PS3 back around 2009. My 360 has barely been turned on since 2010. So sticking to PS seems like the no brainer move to me.

This year, I want next-gen versions of certain multiplat games, Hohokum, Resogun and a box for playing PlanetSide 2 (my current PC being a Mac). And a PAL Blu-ray player (my PS3 is JPN). There's a couple of other games I'll probably get (KZ, Drive Club) but those other things are the primary drivers.

For the generation? Third party games and Sony's games.

I'm ready for next gen and something new.

I'm keeping my PS3 because there's still plenty come out for it, but it between I'll also have a brand new console to entertain me that is going to serve me very well over the next 5/6 years.

Because the price being cheaper does not speak to the qualities of the PS4 you would like.

If one wants to play multiplatform games, price would be important, no? Since all other things equal, we might as well pay less to play the same games.

- Next gen get
- Remoteplay
- Infamous
- eventual Naughty Dog blockbusters
- Had a $500 Visa gift card that I sat on after Xmas last year specifically for this. That gift card's true potential has now been realized

Because I know it'll have plenty of games that I want to play over it's lifetime. I could easily say the same about every other platform.

Xbox One won't get all the JRPG like the PS4 will. Sony also goes hard with exclusives, and they support their consoles even after a new generation arrives. Look at the end of the PS3's generation, they are still killing it with exclusives while Xbox 360 just stopped.

I won't get getting one at launch, but maybe early next year.

It will have the best games. Sony have always had the best variety of games since ps1 soo this is going to be no different.

1. Price point
2. Prefer exclusives
3. After I started to play PC games I fell in love with many indie games and what Sony is doing with indie devs it made me happy.
4. Sounds like it'll be the definitive platform for multis.
5. GDDR5
