inFAMOUS Second Son 'Fetch' Trailer

This game will come out just in time in Q1 next year when I'm through with the launch games and only have multiplayer games to play.

Delsin and his brother seem far more interesting than Cole and Zeke. Lol at people judging him early on saying he looked like a douche.

The game looks nice but the main character seems like a total douche designed to all appeal to teenagers, the whole character design is very unappealing to me. Worse than DMC Dante.

Lol, I swear I didn't read that post, I only watched the trailer and commented. ;-)

I played the first Infamous and that main character wasn't exactly interesting and likable either, so maybe I'm biased from that. But this one just screams annoying rebellious teenager to me.

He's 24 and has lived in the shadow of his older brother's success all his life...

To be fair, it seems deliberate. Based on the trailers we've seen, Delsin is the douchey black-sheep of the family, with his soft-rebellion spray-painting antics looking pretty childish in contrast to his serious cop brother.

Not really. I mean, he does seem like a bit of a rebel (when does that make one automatically a douche?), but he sounds like a person who suddenly finds out he has superpowers, enjoys the fact that he has them (instead of sulking around like superheroes too often do) and plans to do something to the seemingly Nazi-ish shit that is going on in the world. He's a bit cocky, but in a good way. Confident and not a wuzz.

He's pretty much early Magneto then....which is awesome.

Anyone know if it's playable at Gamescom? I don't want to have to wait until the next trailer to see what the new power actually does :p

I'm really looking forward to seeing how they integrate all these powers into the control scheme. The thing I've always loved about Infamous is Sucker Punch's commitment to having all your powers available at the touch of a button, with no need to switch weapons or modes. You essentially had a pistol, shotgun, rocket launcher, sniper rifle and grenades right there at your fingertips, as well as melee and hovering and all the other stuff. I've always thought it was bloody brilliant of them, but I feel like the pop up menu in Infamous 2 was a bit of a misstep. They put four of the most useful powers on the same button, which was really inelegant. Ice Launch is far too useful a power to be hidden away in a menu, for example - it should always have been activated by holding the jump button down. I hope they come up with a better idea this time around.

I suppose I don't really know how the powers are going to function, though. I've been imagining a linear sort of progression, same as the other two games, only instead of filling out your repertoire with all electricity abilities, you'll get the same sort of grenades/rocket launcher/shotgun stuff but spread across a few different powers. I've always pictured it as Smoke being your peashooter, melee and hover power, then the next power might be the shotgun and the rocket launcher, and so on. You'd be using all your different powers without having to switch modes or anything.

I could be totally off-base with that, though. It might be that every new power has a full suite of abilities that you'll switch between with the D-pad. I just don't know if the game really needs a Smoke peashooter, a Neon peashooter, a Rock peashooter, etc, y'know? But, then, I'm just speculating, and at this point I trust Sucker Punch to deliver something way better than what I can think up :p

That's what I meant. He seems like a deliberate design to appeal to teenagers who listen to Avril Lavigne and call themselves "punk". Guess I just don't fit the target audience.

Game looks great graphically though.

I think what Paullo means by that is it's unlikely that Sucker Punch will play Delsin completely straight. At the very least, there will probably be some acknowledgement of his attitude by a character in the game. His brother, most likely.

I imagine this is what 50+ age people think of Spider-Man. This teenage punk cracks too many wise jokes, what happened to good old likable superheroes, like Superman?

Pretty much. I don't think Sucker Punch have any interest in appealing to the Avril Lavigne fan community, I think they were interested in creating a character who begins his story as a bit of a wannabe hipster rebel. I feel like we'll see an exploration of that as the story progresses.

Visually really good and yes, fun. KZ Shadowfall looks great and fun as well. Probably one of the launch games alongside a few others that I may get on PSN.

Exactly, I think Sucker Punch has proven with inFamous 2 and Festival of Blood that they know what they're doing in the open-world game space.

Additionally, the guy writing that article is just another person who can't seem to get past Delsin's outfit. Yes, we get it, he dresses like a hipster douche. Do we not think that maybe that's part of his character and the story that Sucker Punch are telling? Yeesh.

I can wait for it, I mean there is GTA 5, Watch Dogs, Battlefield 4, Assassins Creed 4, Black Light: Retribution, Planteside 2, DC Universe, and Cod too

Thats not even including all 15 titles sony announced yesterday!

This will probably be the first game I play on PlayStation 4. It looks incredible. I would have liked to be more invested in the story, though. I didn't care for the story in Infamous at all, but I do agree that these two characters seem more interesting than Cole and Zeke.

Should be fairly separate from the first two inFamous games. It's seven years later, and I doubt we'll hear much of the original story outside of a legacy nod or mention.

It would be cool to see Cole make an appearance in this game as a helper or even a boss. Preferably both.

Something about Second Son just looks infinitely more interesting to me than the previous Infamous games. Will be keeping my eyes on this one.

I wanna know that too. If he steals it then I wonder if it kills the person.

They way they played it up,

"When it comes to conduits, it's my call. Not yours, not 'ours', mine."

and the struggle between Delsin and Fetch, then her face melting into comic book effects... I'm thinking probably.
