MMA-GAF |OT5| Father Time Is Undefeated

damn @ gr1m being the top poster in OT4. And look at what happens when I'm not banned for half the thread's duration, lol. Would've taken the top spot if it wasn't for the couple bans I had.

I would love to see Jones destroy Cormier. Then again, it will probably take 8 more years for that fat fuck to finally make weight at LHW.

Has anyone gone to a UFC event alone before? Pettis is my favorite fighter, title fight in Milwaukee, and I have absolutely no one to go with. I wasn't going to go but as it gets closer I just can't stand knowing that I could see Pettis vs. Henderson live. I've been scrambling to find people but all my friends are out of town for Labor Day or cheap.

What should I do?

The other thing is I've considered bringing my dad. He just turned sixty and is casually into the UFC, but he does not drink at all and I'm not sure how dudebro the crowd would be.

Feel free to send me a ticket. I'd gladly fly out there.

But seriously, just take your dad. There's the occasional idiot in the crowd but I doubt they would bother you or your dad. Everyone does their own thing so its not really a big deal. I've only been to events in NJ, and Boston though so take it for what its worth.

Gone to a bunch of UFCs on my own because my friends never want to spend the money.

Alright. I ended up buying and am going to be going with my dad. This should be interesting! Can't wait, I don't see how the main event can disappoint!

Enjoy, it should be a good card.

If you don't mind me asking, where are your seats, did you get them from ticketmaster or somewhere else, and how much were they?

I got them from Craigslist, seemed to be the best deal I could find. 150 for the pair, dead center section, upper deck, row 5. It should be decent enough, I think. I know they're not the best, but ya gotta make due with what you can.

I'm a believer again in my boy Carlos Condit. After Hendricks gets laid on for 5 rounds I want him to get another crack at Gorgeous Georges.

Well when I went it was basically white trash central. I'm glad I got to see Brittney back when she was still hot but I'm not sure I would go again unless the oft-mentioned MMA-GAF meet up ever happens.

Ha, no offense, I just think it's kinda funny you mention it being mostly white trash and the only thing you mention was seeing one of the ring girls. But yeah, I can see that. Hopefully I sit by some classier folk.

MMA will be good again once more Mexicans start training. Once the Ginger dethrones PBF in a few weeks the Mexicans will set their targets to dethroning all of the chumps in the UFC...

Except GSP. Sorry Condit, I love you and all for being a halfie but GSP is here until he retires.

I'm just sayin, if you know all the lyrics to Face the Pain and enjoy the song in a non-ironic way, you're probably classified as white trash.

I just want NWO White to know that I truly want this sport to do well but I simply lack faith in the leadership which is why I'm part of NWO Red.

Also, War Canelo even though rationally I expect PBF to win decisively.

This is good because Dana isn't looking for people to become invested in any of the fighters or any kind of buildup or narrative, he just wants you to be able to drop in at anytime and look at those two joes in the octagon and feel nothing but indifference about what's happening.

That's whats important in this sport, just two guys that kind of don't really have anything against each other. They could just use the extra money and well, they just want to get out of the fight safely. God bless this sport.

Plywood is right.

Before each UFC Fight Night card, prelim card, and half of most pay-per-views, I will stick an AXS TV logo shield on the bottom right hand corner of my television screen and enjoy it for what it truly is: Bad MMA super fights. The best of the best from Tachi Palace, RFA, Titan Fighting, Strikeforce Challengers, Shooto, MFC, Jungle Fights, and BAMMA duking it out for my enjoyment on the biggest stage the sport has to offer...in 6 hour spans...3-4 times a week.

Thank you UFC, for giving over 500 fighters a chance. At the same time.

I just know that in their hearts and in their minds, when they're standing in the Budlight at the center of the octagon they're wondering if they left the stove on and really when it comes down to it, that's what's most important because it's not about being the best.

To some this is just a sport, but for Tony Lopez this is real life. Realest O.G. in the game.

Tonight at KOTC: Split Decision, Tony Lopez did the most reprehensible thing one could ever do in mixed martial arts. After securing a rear naked choke on his opponent, Lopez held on to the submission as the referee was trying to separate him. It's not as if he didn't feel the ref pushing his body off his opponent. Tony Lopez intentionally held on to the choke and after he felt like he was done punishing his opponent, Tony Lopez hit him in the face.

Tony Lopez post-fight interview

Apparently the dude was "mad dogging" Tony's wife and that got him mad. Then he started hugging Tony trying to win on points or some bullshit and that got him even more mad.

Tony Lopez said:
It's a fight first. Y'know, people say it's a sport; yeah it's a sport but it's a violent sport and I'm here to show the violent part of it for now on, y'know I'm gonna go out there and try to hurt somebody, and make them pay for stepping in the ring with me.

I wouldn't mind this transition to Bad UFC if they replaced Florian with a personality-haver.

Seriously if this had happened a couple days ago this OT would've been an ode to Tony Lopez with some shoutouts for the guys who paved the way for him like Mike Kyle, Gilbert Yvel, Babalu and Paul Daley.

You can still change the subtitle to "it's a fight first" and do that.

To be honest there Pauly, that's one of the best replies I've ever seen in my entire life. Legit lol.

I just want all the fighters to have a fair chance at doing this sport for a while, not for life, just a little bit, when they can, if it doesn't inconvenience them.

Sometime after they they do laundry and finish grocery shopping

UFC put Bendo v. Pettis 1 on stream for free on the website. Watching it yet again, I have it tied a 2 rounds going into the 5th. The 5th is pretty even, leaning slightly toward Pettis when the kick hits.

The biggest thing I'm thinking though while rewatching this fight is that it's going to be incredibly hard to match or beat the excitement created in the first one.
