FATEs need to either get less boring or give less xp(except for the bigger ones), for what they're worth.
Or maybe both.

Just did the Sunken Temple of Qarn 3 times in a row with FC mates. The boss design in that dungeon is much better than what's in previous dungeons. Really, really like it.
What did you expect? Dungeon running really isn't appealing. It's slow, all the gear is basically worthless (I imagine) and you don't get seals.

It's interesting because in the latest FF11 expansion, there are events that are kinda like FATEs called reives and they do give multiple objectives to meet that increase the rewards. You'd think that'd transfer over to FF14. It makes healing actually worthwhile. There is so much they can do make it both meaningful content and open to players. Just one of many ideas: Give each role a specific objective and lock higher medals unless it is achieved. More mandatory is the fact they need to make enemies durable to a bunch of players spamming AoEs. Again, a lot of ways to do that. A straight up resistance to AoE aside, they could have more "puzzle" enemies, e.g. enemies are immune to damage until a condition is met.
Seems like they are running into the same problem Guild Wars II did, though I wouldn't know from personal experience.
Aero, stone, stone, aero, stone, stone.. till you get to 15.
The game changes drastically from that dungeon onwards.

Once you've chosen a server, you're always on that server. My friend on PS3 is unable to select any server, he just gets thrown into Rammuh
anyone else had a similar issue?
I haven't been following this game, can someone explain the subtitle of this thread and the original? Are the errors due to unexpected traffic or just crappy servers?
And ultimately: how does it play?

If you're logged in and playing this game is fantastic. It's so much fun and reminds me what I loved about Final Fantasy in the first place. So I've heard of a trial extension? What are we getting?

Unfortunately, most of the time you're sitting back and playing the "I wanna log in" game. It's very frustrating.
Which I assume is due to unexpected traffic.
So, I just got in after getting 90k'ed for a couple hours and can't use the free company chat anymore. Game is just telling me: The command "/fc What I wrote" was used incorrectly. What gives D:?
We *might* be getting 7 days free, according to Yoshi-P
Ehhhh. Maybe inside dungeons. Quests are still pretty easy and boring. Even then, Cutter's Cry isn't anything special (outside the first boss, maybe). My highlight so far has been Garuda. That fight is going to be one hell of a wake up call for a lot of players and it is "mandatory". Love it. Makes me imagine what this game would have been like if they didn't nerf all the main scenario quests.
Had that earlier, to fix it, well, you wont like it, but, you'll need to re-login, lol.

Ah, I love the smell of a new fresh thread.
The best Final Fantasy since XII that was released in the west.
Wow is it that bad?FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS TO SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASE YOUR CHANCE OF LOGGING INTO THE SERVER ON PC.
Man, at the end of the last OT, someone gave the advice of running to the tank if you manage to pull hate/aggro.
THIS THIS THIS THIS. I have no clue why people always freak out and run around like a headless chicken when they get hit. Leaves me stuck spamming shield lob and missed flashes hoping to pull it off you. God forbid there are lots of mobs up and i have to deal with targeting as well. It's the worst.
Also DPS who keep dealing damage. If it doesn't need to be burned down, take a chill pill for a second. There are enmity bars on the UI for a reason.

Although unless it's a boss fight, I tend to not lose hate to adds. Boss fights can be tough as I have to often spend time stunning the boss or adds and dealing with the awful GCD timer in between. All the while the DPS need to burn down the same adds so shit can get hectic.
There is a tiny bar to the left of each PT member that gives an estimate to where every member stands on the hate table. This is standard MMO ettiquette. I guess some people are new to MMOs still, but yeah, they really need to either stand still or run toward the tank.
EDIT: There are enmity bars? Where's that?
From what I've seen so far about that game, it reminds me somehow of Final Fantasy XII. Shame that it seems to be online-only, as I would love that one to play single player, just like XII.
