Nothing I know of is out soon, all gone a bit quiet, hoping for news / release on:

Drifter
Hearthstone (way off I guess)
Wayward Saga
Out There

In fact, checking my TA wishlist, there are a ton of games that seem to have vanished, such as Wizards and Warp Drives, Pylon, Albion Saga (looked amazing), The Day I Tried...

So yeah, grab Terraria, it's great.

Infinity Blade 3 is out tomorrow I believe. Then there's Shadowrun Returns next week.

Wayward Saga! Completely forgot about this one. What holds me back from buying Terraria is that I just don't own iPad and I am pretty happy with the amount of things to do in JJX... maybe waiting for a sale will be a better idea. Infinity Blade 3 would be an amazing game to show off what's iPhone capable of, but since I didn't bother with finishing 2 I may pass. More of the same.

I have a huge backlog, it's just my addiction to buying games I guess!

Will be buying Worms 3 on sale for 99 cents. Anyone want to risk a pack of gum to try the online multiplayer? We should get a GAF game going!

It's a-sync, right? If so I'd join in (just bought it, yay). I rarely have time to sit down and play some real time multiplayer, so I'm always looking for some a-sync action to get my fix.

Yeah, says it's async, though I don't know if the online actually works or not haha. Reviews seem pretty good.

[SLADE] on Game Center if you guys want to get a game going.

There was some news on Out There recently! There are now two persons working of the game and the gameplay will not have any combat. It will be about surviving, researching, understanding new languages and trading.

Out There is coming along very nicely, they were at Gamescom. They're aiming for a late 2013 release (they mentioned Oct-Dec timeframes).

Yep, got it. Hope this game works after the iOS 7 update, haha.

It does work on iOS7 no problem. igor_mango - Add me guys, maybe in multiplayer it will be a little bit more fun... I am just as stupid as the AI though haha

Looks like Worms 3 has its own login system and doesn't use Game Center for adding friends. I'm "Heel" on there.

Went through the tutorials. Seems fine so far. Virtual d-pad or touch control options.

Anyone else playing First Touch Soccer 2014?

I'm terrible and lose all the time, but there is still something fun about it. The touch controls work surprisingly well and the matches are very fast.

I haven't really delved into the team management side of it, but there seems to be a lot of meat there (for a mobile game) and it would appear you can improve your team. I'm kind of curious to see how the game stands up once your players are properly leveled up.

https://itunes.apple.com/sg/app/first-touch-soccer-2014/id472344174?mt=8

Played about six matches in team management mode. Won all bar one so far. Admittedly only 1-0, but I never look like conceding. As you say, touch controls are surprisingly good, but I find the swipe to shoot control lacking in sensitivity. Many times I've been clear through 1-on-1 and I swipe, only for nothing to happen.

This is cool. Apple now lets you download the 'last compatible' version of apps for your device.

Hmmm this seems like it could be problematic from the developer side. A lot of unspoken changes we make in updates are things that prevent cheating or fixing broken logic.

That being said, it is very, very rare that we obsolete devices or move to a new minimum OS requirement within an update anyway.

I also reviewed Infinity Blade, but found it needlessly repetitive and really easy to fall out of sync with the game's balance. Combat is fun and its super pretty, though

The problem with reviewing a game like this is losing to a boss suuuuucks because you now need to plow another 30-40 minutes or however long in before you can progress. It's fucking frustrating as hell to lose to a difficulty-spiked boss and have to loop around again. for the 5th time that day

But the thing is outside of a condensed review session, this isn't really a problem. That's not a normal play pattern. In a "real world" setting there's no pressure. Just start over and grind some gold. Sure you still want to win but it's broken up by the shorter play sessions stretched out over days/weeks.

Wait! That game was real!? I saw you guys talking about it a few days ago but people seemed to brush it off.

Is it any good?
It's a knockoff but it's real. It isn't 1:1 feature wise to PSP Patapon. I posted a video earlier in the thread from the 1.0 version which wasn't updated.

2.1GB Installed fact fans, not for me, I still think the first is the better mobile game, I also much prefer the fact they don't speak English in IB1, sounds so boss.

When you die in a game and you feel like it is fair, and that death is always your fault and not due to artificial difficulty spikes or just simply not being able to afford the appropriate weaponry by that point, then it's never a frustrating prospect to start again.

Spelunky, for example, is punishing and difficult and sends you back to the start, but there's no grind and my failure was completely based on me sucking, so I'm happy to play again and get better.

Dying in IB3 is almost always frustrating simply because its designed that way.

In the previous IB games you could quit to homescreen and close the application to avoid starting all over after a lost boss battle. It only makes sense if you lost the battle because you played terribly or some bug messed you up...otherwise you're just going to be even more underleveled for the next boss.

Not a fan of pseudo-latin in games, shit's corny...thought the 2nd one had really good voice acting besides Siris, who sounded too much like a typical American for a sword game.

Infinity Blade is the Elder Scrolls of iOS gaming to me, in the sense of the amount of hours I end up playing each instalment. IB3 get!
Also, to date some of the only games I'm ranked higher in than iOS octopus Wario64. There.

Nimble Quest updated with controller support?

IT'S HAPPENING!!!!

Any word on when someone will actually release a controller?

If you've already played an Infinity Blade game ... then you'll know the drill with Infinity Blade III.

Thanks, all I needed to hear. I'm not a fan of the series at all.

Looks...scary. But also something I'd like to try.

I noticed that this morning, maybe we will hear something on an actual controller soon. I can only imagine stuff like Terraria on iPad with controller support (hell, the possibility's are endless).

I would get a 128GB iPad 4 if they started to get console ports with controller support.

Played hours of Infinity Blade 3. Closed the app, came back to it later and was kicked to an intro movie and right back at the start again.

Probably a bug, but you've been warned :/

In the meantime, I'm done with this game. I refuse to play until I have some kind of guarantee my save is working. What a waste of $8.

I felt this way with the second one. I loved the first one and always had enough money to by one new thing from time to time so I can keep leveling up. With the second one, I keep running out of money and a lot of times I'll have only one piece of equipment not mastered so I barely leveling up. It felt more like a grind for money...them grind for exp...then grind for money and repeat. I'm not sure what I'm doing differently compared to the first game.

It sounds like your review for the third one is how I feel about the second one... It does sound like fun for those who hasn't burned out on this formula though.

Going on a longhaul flight in a couple weeks not a big handheld gamer. I need something to help me pass the time and take my mind off things as I have terrible anxiety when I am in a airplane. I'll have the latest iPad with me. Any suggestions?

Did either of you guys run it on an iPad 3? I am looking for performance. I don't mind spending 7 bucks on a game, but not if it is unplayable.

Difficult to say without knowing your gaming preferences, but I've personally found that time flies when I play strategy games. And more recently, I've been into card games like Ascension, Solforge and (to a lesser degree) Magic 2014. Bonus: all of which can be obtained for free, though with the option to spend more money on expansions, decks or card packs if so inclined.

Some other more traditional strategy games I've really enjoyed, but that cost money, have been XCOM, Final Fantasy Tactics and the Kingdom Rush tower defense games.

Bring some Xanax and podcasts instead.

Check your save slots, buried a few menus deep in the options/settings menu? You might have been defaulted to a new save for some reason.

My saves from the preview/press build actually carried over into the final game, which VERY rarely happens... so I'd imagine that the save system is pretty buttoned up.

No luck... There's two saves one with Siris on level 1 that won't load at all and one with The God King which is the new one :/

hey buddy-I downloaded it and played it on my commute this morning on iPad 3. Worked just fine-perfomance was flawless.

That being said I am on iOS 6. I've read that iOS 7 on iPad has some issues.

Also....I fucking love this game. I'm a real sucker for Infinity Blade-leveling up everything, forging, etc

Awesome thanks! That's a shame about iOS7 on the iPad. I was going to update when I got home from work
