Well, people are kinda asking for it when graphical fidelity is such a hot topic around here all the time. PC is like the 800 pound gorilla in the room when these types of discussions go on..
It's the tip of the iceberg for both consoles though. Especially if you believe the rumors about XB1 drivers and development problems.
How would that work though? If something is obvious we shouldn't talk about it.

Why? It's a cross-gen game, 1080p60 should be effortless for the PS4.
Edit: If they're capping it at 30 FPS then I'm amazed it's not 1080p on both. Cross gen game, come on.

Well, here's hoping the PS4 version runs at 1080p, my eyes definitely would love it. Otherwise, why the hell is my big screen plasma 1080p for?

That's pretty much what I got from it as well. 1080p60 for PS4, and 60fps with dips for XBone, and they don't know what resolution they'll be able to hit. Based on the original comments, they may be willing to accept frame rates as low as 30fps, which would allow them to get closer to 1080p on XBone.

It should be 1080p 60fps on everything. There's no way Xbox can't run that shizz at 1080p.
There's a fourth group, people who own all available consoles and a PC. I understand that you've never owned an Xbox product and have said that you aren't buying a 180. That's fine. But if the PS4 has the definitive version of games by default I'm willing to bet that you wouldn't mind faceoff threads. I'm willing to bet that you'd even post in them with much jubilation
I'm not hiding that I prefer Playstation to Xbox, but to be frank with you, if X1 and PS4 switched places powerwise. I would have admitted that back in May, I will never doubt clear specs advantages laid in front of me, I will never believe PR and buzz words. I might still end up buying PS4 in such scenario due to games only BUT I will never question maths and numbers at all.
It was clear from the beginning that PS4 is tighter system with better memory and much beefier GPU, it's not necessary to doubt clear paper specs and drag conversations at all.
Xbone version is Balanced.

Whatever the case, the thing I love about console wars on GAF is the twists and turns. I love how any given thread could be so much more valuable later on, like time capsules that contain rather common or mundane things that become treasure. Will be fun to see comments revisited later in the grand scheme of things given how automatic, energetic, and self-assured posts can be.
Unless one platform bombs or takes a better than 70% share of the market, I'd think that, if this were true to a significant degree with a first title in what is obviously an expensive and planned franchise, a lower reputation for it on one platform could hurt sales enough to force the developer/publisher to commit more resources and seek or be offered more assistance in achieving parity from the platform holder so as to ensure that the successive titles don't suffer and end up being coasters in a bargain bin within a year or so of release. They need good sales across the main platforms to make money so parity will be achieved by bringing the most important versions close together as the generation wears on. Nothing political about that, just smart business sense.

I'd say it's far more common on GAF for PC players to enter a thread about Consoles with the sole idea to shit all over it, than it is for a console gamer to do the reverse.

I REALLY hope this isn't true, doesn't seem to be true.
But, if it is true, I'm canceling my Watch Dog purchase and won't be supporting Ubisoft, just because I refuse to believe the Xbox One can't run a cross gen game at 1080p, at only 30 frames. I just can't.
