Did crytek once say that Ryse would run at 1080p?
Not responding would be the better option.
We will never see 4K gaming in our lifetimes.
so what would be the benefit of 900p then
its not like the order in which they have it on a theatrical banner setting
crytek is not going to badmouth xbone.
and crytek will never say their xbone exclusive would have looked better on ps4.
does anyone really want to bash some developer because he "lied"? does anyone really expect crytek to be truthful and at the same time not tarnish their game and their exclusivity deal?
sometimes, people are just trying to find a way to hate something and someone. no one is going to buy that explanation anyway.
Spin it however you want. 1080p > 900p
1080p should be the standard next gen. Visual fidelity and detail should come second.
Compromising image quality in favor of visual fidelity via enhanced shaders is, in his view, a more efficient solution.
I really hope that that does not become some sort of internal mandate.
SSM humiliating Crytek at graphics would be rather amusing to watch.
why?
If they couldn't achieve 1080p while also having enhanced shaders, then surely that right there is a technical hurdle? They had to sacrifice one for another. Why would you simply chose to do that if there where no technical limitations, even if they are apparently unnoticeable? The dude makes no sense.
Of course not. He doesn't work for Sony...
The Wii U is able to do 1080p/60.
There is no excuse.
Is there a genuine reason 900p could be a more efficient design choice than 1080p if the hardware can handle 1080p ?
I really hope that that does not become some sort of internal mandate.
Probably wont happen, they would have probably announced a PC game by then,
So he's basically just saying that Crytek would always rather push more shaders and effects on consoles instead of resolution. Same as they did with Crysis 2 and 3 on consoles.
Well, considering that the average person wouldnt be able to tell the difference between 900p and 1080p, the extra power could be put towards better physics, better lighting, better shaders, more fluid frame rates, more AI, decreased controller input latency, etc.so what would be the benefit of 900p then
its not like the order in which they have it on a theatrical banner setting
...
or is it?
How is it not?A design choice? What a heap of garbage.
I'm talking about Ryse vs. a hypothetical GoW. Although PS4 is noticably more powerful, so it wouldn't really be a fair game.
Because it is inferior to the alternative... that's how.How is it not?
He'd be pretty stupid to not use the ~90% improvement on pixel fill rate to make it 1080p.
