Doesn't mean they can't show us anything Versus-related. I don't understand this unwritten rule of only hyping one game at a time. Promote the hell outta the games that are releasing first, sure, but don't neglect everything else.
SE said they wanted to keep us updated with their games and with Versus going all out at this years E3, I can't imagine why they'd put the game back into hiding like that. There's NO reason why they can't scrape together some footage for another trailer. They shoulda had one at TGS and they should have one at Jump.

Uh... so now not even 1,5 minute trailer is not enough? I mean, people were debating whether we'd get more than 5-10 seconds of footage prior to this even. 1:36 is a decent length trailer for a game that is probably still at least 2 years away.
And no, it's not a tech demo. Nomura said that's from what they have playable at the moment.

I'm actually kind of glad they aren't showing Sora's new outfit yet. I don't think I'd be ready to handle all those zippers, belts, chain goodness.

Considering Square Enix really doesn't have anything else majorly big announced for the year after Thief 4, there's a fair chance that they will do whatever it takes to get FFXV out if not during the next calendar year by December 31st, 2014, then by the end of the next fiscal year (March 31st, 2015). And KHIII is very likely releasing during the fiscal year after that (so could be late 2015, could be early 2016). I mean, do take note that FFXV & KHIII are SQEX Japan's next two big games and all priority is put on them + there's the fact that both have been worked on (to some capacity) quite a long time by now (for KHIII it seems to have been mostly pre-development stuff before this year, but on the other hand it's the epic finale that they've been working towards for years now, so they probably know exactly where they are going with the game so they can jump straight into development easier than with a game like FFXV which is a whole new game with lots to figure out on how they want things to work and all).
Not to even mention it would fit Nomura's/Square Enix's "one KH product a year" schedule, which technically hasn't been broken since 2009. KH358/2 Days in 2009. KH BBS in 2010. ReCoded in 2011 (in the west). KHDDD in 2012. KH1.5 in 2013. KH2.5 in 2014 and KH3 in 2015. There should be no other KH games after 2.5 but before 3 anymore.

I'm pretty sure they're getting Thief 4 out before the end of the fiscal year because they're basically writing off fiscal 2014. We really shouldn't expect XV to come out until 2015.

The thing is... Birth by Sleep was a great game. It also added new characters that were sort of cool and the storytelling was different too. The problem is that SE dillydallied way too long between KHII and BbS. It doesn't end there which is the hilarious bad part.
Well, Birth by Sleep was probably the best entry in the series...

Agreed. In a perfect world I think BBS would've been out a year or two earlier and KHIII would've been a year or two after that. Things went waaaay off the rails.
I haven't played BBS though. Always thought it looked great though, so here's looking forward to the remaster.

Don't worry, I can already envision the interviews where Nomura is saying "Well, you know, it is very special for us that Kingdom Hearts III will be coming out on the 10th anniversary year of Kingdom Hearts II."
