I heard about it within the last week. It "makes sense" to me, I can see why the original source of the rumour might know (due to relatable, believable reasons), but I also can't entirely vouch for them and can see why they'd be mistaken. If it's true, I can understand it and believe it because it's not outrageous. But if it's not I wouldn't be overly surprised, simply because it's not a usual channel.

Is a port of Bayonetta, a game that didn't sell a lot and has a sequel coming exclusively to Wii U, really a megaton? I mean, if it's done it shouldn't be a huge surprise, considering Bayo wasn't on a Nintendo console.

Porting a 3.5 year old game to a system where the first party is funding and publishing the sequel is not a megaton as far as I'm concerned, no matter how much I love my Bayo. Nor would be something like porting a significant 3DS release that was popular and would scrub up well on Wii U. Same goes for a Wii game, another GCN game, that is well known and popular.

As much as people are looking forward to this, if rather Nintendo spend time (or the developers they're paying to make this) to create some new games.

It's lazy as shit. It's not like Nintendo doesn't have the resources to make LM from the ground up. Not only they would be reusing an old ip, it's based off a game they released 8 months ago. Sometimes having an hardcore dedicated fan base that will practically buy anything isn't always a good thing

It could have very well started as a 3DS game, not that Nintendo will ever confirm. But that doesn't change the fact that a game like 3D world has a massively increased scope than it would have on the 3DS and looks incredible.

That said I still believe that 3D World was going to be a 3DS game.

According to the producer Koichi Hayashida, they started thinking about Wii U Mario game when they were working on 3D Land. So i really don't think 3D World was a 3DS game at any point in development.

You needn't worry about that, the hardcore base you speak of that will buy anything is clearly a tiny number for the home console side of things, going by how shit Wii U is performing. Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon Wii U has a UPC number of 045496680145, and the model code CTRNAGGE. Googling either brings up results, as others have mentioned. Issue is that CTRNAGGE is not a Wii U registry code. It's a 3DS code. It is different to the 3DS version by one letter, the latter reading CTRPAGGE. 045496680145, however, does not show up as a registered UPC code.

I guess someone could have hit the wrong database numbers. After all, CTRNAGGE isn't being drawn by the main Best Buy site, but instead their business subsidiary. If an issue did occur somewhere in a database, it wouldn't be just one site getting the wrong readings. It would be multiple. And that's what gives you multiple incorrect listings from different retailers. A lot of this stuff is automated.

Indeed. CTR is the codename for 3DS stuff (it's actually how people discovered that the battery inside the Pro Controller was the same as the OG 3DS). For the Wii U, it's WUP. Actually, I have an awfully wild theory, but it's not worth posting imo.

Strangely Makna Forest is what made me decide that if I were going to continue Xenoblade, it had to be on Dolphin. I was ready to drop the game if any other area was going to look remotely as bad as that does at 480p.
