You can still be very good at the game with a controller
I'm crazy good with fighting fames on a 360 controller for example
But it will save you a bit especially with anything that needs the bumpers... and combo breakers will be annoying to pull off with the bumpers...
And you will probably need to get used to them so you might suck a bit at first if you've been used to a controller for a long time (especially with the stick itself) but you will likely be better with your button inputs thanks to the accessibility

I'd suggest trying it out with a controller first and see if you like that before investing a good amount of money into a fight stick. Double Helix seems to be taken care of controller players too, so hopefully it'll play great on the Xbox One controller.

When I got a PS3 last year, I played all the exclusive fighters on it on a DS3, and got used to it well enough. Then around it's year anniversary, I happened to get my 360 stick dual mod'd... And while it's been great for many things, it's not like Night and Day. More like a normal day and a great morning, ha.
The new D-Pad has Microswitches inside, correct? It's basically built on the inside similar to a Joystick, or a Neo Geo Pocket stick, anyway. That's a great thing for a console-standard stick; should feel very good, once one gets used to it.
The R-stick for breaks and combo-buttons sounds like a great assistance, and the buttons seem easily remappable, and combo-binds could be used, if one really wants to. Sounds like pad is a viable option for all preferences, if one gives it a bit of time.

We should probably make a new thread on Thursday since there will be at least one new character reveal (Spinal) and maybe two. That along with Orchid gameplay, accessories, and alternate costumes should make it one hell of a stream. Can't wait.

Personally I like the "tech" design. I'm a big fan of minimalism, which is probably why I'm so turned off by the stock artwork.

They all look really good, I think I like the first one the best. Can't wait to see the final products.
For someone who's never owned a fightstick, is there a website that would do a HQ print of these? Or would I just use computer paper?

Thankfully we don't have to wait so long for the full reveal and character 8 tease this time as there is only 3 weeks until launch

Yup, as i said i plan on making something similar to that Hyper Light Drifter Poster i created a few weeks ago.
It will be a full composition, kinda like this other one here ( http://mdk7.deviantart.com/art/Juventus-Heroes-370201748 ), dedicated to the first 6 KI characters.
Sabrewulf is my favorite, so i started with him... i just need some time to do the others now!
Oh and thanks everybody for the positive feedback guys.
It the whole design comes out nice, i'll try to create something for the arcade stick as well, to have it printed in case someone wants it.
