Hopefully they target PC first, then dial down certain settings for consoles. PS4 gets the "high" settings, Xbone the "medium." etc.

Xbone apparently has black crushing effects. Battlefield 4 has the same problem.

I'd hate to play a new Doom game on a system that has a habit of crushing blacks. The silly trend of ultra dark shooters will make some games downright unplayable unless you tweak your TV settings quite a bit. Personally, I'm for brighter, more colorful games in general - especially in the FPS/TPS genre's.

Anyways, do you guys think we will see parity (and by that I mean Xbox improvements) as time goes on? Is this just launch problems/issues with cross gen/Sony being easier to develop for?

the xbone versions will certainly get better, that does not mean it will close the gap because the ps4 version will also get better.

it all comes down to apis, middleware, and devs. both have their own proprietary apis.

middleware, though, can be the difference. ps4 devs can focus on making their engines work for ps4. devs like respawn or any rented devs out there can't (because they're not owned by ms). they have to think about their future so they can't solely make their engine optimized only for the xbone.

So pushing to 60FPS killed the 1080p on Xbox? Crazy to see how good Ryse and NBA2K look (Ryse at 30FPS/900p, NBA at 1080p/60FPS) yet CoD looks ugly and has a lower resolution (even with the 60fps). Battlefield looks better on XBO than CoD, i don't get what CoD and IW are doing with the Xbox version...

Cod is designed for 6v6. Ground war always seemed too chaotic to me. I certainly don't want more players.

I think it would be hard to see in some sections of the game simply because the blacks are cranked up to a million in the Xbox One version.
