There are still at least two rewards they haven't revealed yet.
They better be offering like an unlockable Juggernaut perk only available to those of us who were crazy enough to do that shit. Looking back, I have no idea why I went for the full 20. Guess I had a bored couple of months.

Call of Duty: Ghosts |OT| Yo Dog, I Heard You Like Dedicated Servers
Like that's gonna matter with the netcode they're using...

Poor netcode + dedicated server is better than poor netcode + host in Africa. At least you won't constantly rubberband.

Treyarch CoDs have been the only ones I have had connection issues on. IW have been pretty good to me connection wise so far.

The current game even cleared up for me a few months in.

All of the games since BO1 have the same netcode, but they've managed to make it worse with each iteration. In BO1, map knowledge and controlled engagements were enough to counter the lag. In MW3, you could still die if you were on a headglitch with your sights at the door where the dude showed up. In BO2, the dude would fly into the room at lightspeed, run around the room and shoot you in the back before you could fire one shot at the door.

It looks like IW did better because BO2 was worse but it's definitely a scale, and considering that scale, I'm expecting to be killed in the future in Ghosts. Getting shot before I even enter houses and shit.

I see whitesox still hasn't accepted anybody into the clan now and it's been a month. Now, early clan registration has closed. I'm getting my copy of the game in just over 12 hours and clans now cannot be created again until the 5th, so I'll probably just set one up for us and enlist in all the clan battles, since whitesox continues to prove that he is very inactive with these clans.

He's not kidding.

I personally liked playing with it like this

(That's a video of a guy I used to play MW3 with, he's not modding, he just has a good trigger finger)

Part of my point is that every game that has the Dragunov also has a spammable sniper rifle with better damage multipliers (i.e. higher damage over a larger body area). There's no reason to use it over the Barrett, M21, PSG1 or XPR.

And your friend is totally using a turbo controller, btw.

I'd argue that the Barrett, PSG1 and XPR aren't intended for the same role as the Dragunov/SVU. The Dragunovs are intended to be low-recoil battle rifles whereas the PSG1, XPR and Barrett have much more recoil and while you can spam them, good luck hitting anything reliably. I think the SVU Dragunov is in the new 'Marksman Rifle' category for Ghosts which is a much more apt description of it than 'Sniper Rifle', which is what I'd use to describe the more powerful, higher-recoil rifles like the Barrett.

Marksman Rifles are like the MK14 from MW2 and MW3.

I can't believe they actually listened to the few fools who kept demanding lean be put back in the franchise. It was never a good idea and never had a place in this game. It's just flat-out stupid. I guess I should start dampening my hope that IW has learned from the terrible MW3...

I can agree with that, but my point is that the others generally don't need to be spammed, since they have a far larger one hit kill area, but have the option to if you miss or get caught off guard.

Another thing I forgot to note is that the FAL and its various clones fill the role the Dragunov does, but with fewer penalties (aim/draw/switch/movement speed). I just don't see a single argument for using it.

Dragunovs tend to have a power advantage over the semi-auto ARs. Dragunovs have always been able to one-hit with a headshot whereas none of the FAL/SMR/M14 (Mk. 14 in MW3 was capable at a close range IIRC). Also the Dragunovs are a guaranteed two-hit even when suppressed, whereas the FAL, etc. can drop to a three-hit. Plus you get a free scope, saving an attachment slot. (Or, alternatively, you're locked into an optic choice unless you want to spend a point/slot on ACOG, and you can't have no optic at all)

It's all preference of course, and I'm not trying to say the Dragunov is objectively better than either the more powerful semi-auto snipers or the more mobile semi-auto ARs, but I definitely don't think they're objectively worse either. They're a nice middle-ground option with pros as well as cons.

Does anyone know if the COD Ghosts multiplayer is up and running on the 360? I can buy a copy today but don't want to waste my time if MP won't work.

I think it's coming up on the 3rd.

And man, almost nobody is playing Blops2 now it seems. Think they're all saving their energy.

I always take a big break from CoD before the next one, it allows me to keep playing year after year without getting burned out.

Twitter is saying otherwise. Lots of people being banned for playing early.

Then lots of people have pirated copies and/or modded xboxs. Nobody cares if you play early with a legitimate retail copy. Occasionally the devs will even claim that they'll reset our stats on launch date, but that never happens either. What's the point of getting it early if you're not going to play online?

I was planning to on another account after I played the campaign.

For PC players, is the $50 deal on GMG the best deal around?

I wasn't going to pick it up so soon but if I do, it'll be my first time picking up a CoD game on release day and I think it'll be more fun to start on an even playing field with others.
