Did none of the reviewers play the MP?
If pessimist Jeff Gerstmann likes the game, it cannot be that bad.
How can you label them bullshitters when you havent played the bloody game yet?
So you are saying it isn't a good game? What, because of the Polygon Score? All the rest are around a 7/10 or higher, which is good.
Gimme a break dude!!
5 is an absolutely insane score dripping in agenda.
6 was already a fairly absurd score for Mercenaries earlier this year, but well what can you do.
It weird to me that people complain about this when the last two big shooters scored higher when the story is "Latinamerica invades USA" and "Protect Chinese from the Chinese"
I'm glad that reviewers are being critical for once, especially on story elements. I just wish they'd do it across the board on all games.
No, because you know deep down that Gies wanted to rate it a shit score and he didn't hold back. Gies's score also makes me wanna go buy it now.
Thanks Gies.
What are the obvious reasons? He has an Agenda, just like the entire site does for obvious reasons. It's why no one here or who is a reasonable person takes them seriously.
Eurogamer said:Nine years ago, the first Killzone game offered us an unforgettable, iconic image: a gas-masked space Nazi, eyes glowing a malevolent ochre, standing under a cherry blossom tree. A strong start - and yet since then, the series has been groping for an identity that could live up to that look and set it apart from its FPS peers. It's never quite found it.
It's all the more frustrating that Shadow Fall fails to establish that identity, because it gets so close in its early design and themes. It sets up an open-ended tactical shooter in a cynical world of sci-fi realpolitik - and then bottles it, taking the easy escape route of another suicide mission into empty spectacle. There's a lack of confidence here that contrasts starkly with Guerrilla's dazzling, sure-footed command of the new hardware. It's a game that any new PlayStation 4 owner will be proud to show off - but it won't be one they remember by the time PS5 rolls around.
Why do you guys make such a big scene out of this stuff? It always makes gamers online look so bad. Wait until you play the game and then you can deconstruct the reviews point by point. Hysterical screaming is so wasteful.
Oh, but we will. Halo is a mainstay on that list, especially after Bungie left.

I LOVE KZ setting, can't wait to dive inAm I the only one that enjoys the setting of Killzone, that enjoys what Guerilla are trying to do with the cold war themes? Sure they may not always hit the spot, but it's a damn sight more interesting to me than yet another conflict with the US military in a random desert country.
criticising the story seems odd when you have the hokum of stuff like CoD.
Maybe its just that I like single player FPS games and don't play much MP
No, stop this ridiculous hindsight nonsense that some gaffers are guilty off. Devs can improve. So can you.All the people expecting Killzone to be a good game and not just a fantastic graphical showcase was in denial.
Bought a ps3 in preparation of owing a ps4 and the Killzone games are all average.
Hearing that the more open level design quickly regresses is probably the biggest disappointment for me. I've always felt Killzone, as a series, really isn't all that great (I don't think Killzone 2 is a good shooter at all, but Mercenaries does some great stuff), but the wider play space and open level structure had me more excited than I would be for a Killzone game.
Sounds like a Killzone game
Says the man with the Killzone avatar.
Sorry, but calling Polygon a joke because "muh exclusive game review score is low" is just laughable. To accuse Polygon of a bias when you obviously have some bias in expecting 7-9 review scores as standard for a big budget, well-marketed, game that you're anticipating is to some extent hypocritical.
OH SHIT!!!
All the people expecting Killzone to be a good game and not just a fantastic graphical showcase was in denial.
LOL but yeah I can't wait for Second Son eitherguess I did well in buying a 3DS instead of a ps4. Will wait for infamous: SS then.

Funded by MS. Literally, no conspiracy. What are the obvious reasons?

9.5/10
That's good news, because I liked the syndicate shooter too.Jeff isn't a pessimist, he's just a man with specific tastes. He loved the Syndicate shooter.
It's always funny how so many people's reaction to low scores is just to censor them and close up the echo chamber rather than discuss them.can we please ban Polygon from review threads? its ridiculous how sony games repeatedly are getting low scores from arthur gies.
More realistic why?
@EatChildren
Would it be fair to call this the PS4's Perfect Dark Zero?
