This IW Native 1080P quote sounds like a load of lies, I'm going to let detective GAF figure this out though as I don't have the technical knowledge.
1080p and 60fps aren't new or buzzwords.
That's a joke right? Sometimes I can't tell anymore. How much do you think Microsoft paid IW to have them "accidentally" send out 720p code to reviewers?
Scott Lowe from IGN just tweeted "Activision has confirmed that the PS4 version of Ghosts I reviewed was running natively at 1080p. The patch is specific to retail copies."

Yeah, but what did it have to do with that quote?
He refuses to admit that he has been fooled...
How does this make sense?
1 - Why would reviewers get a "not-final-version" which is BETTER than the final one?
2 - Why do consumers have to download a patch for 1080p SP and reviewers have it by default?
3 - Why did they review a non final version?
4 - Why didn't they say it wasn't a retail version IN the review?
It's getting WORSE.
So where does the version in the videos in 720p come from? Not too hard to understand. They took the lastest hottest version to the review event. The gold-version was finished before this version, so the game at the review event already had the "Day 1" resolution patch.
Looks like World War Z
as far as I can tell since the day one patch is not live, no one has played ps4 ghosts SP in 1080...
unless we can confirm that early review copies had the final resolutions on them.
Quaz51 posted the info and GAF went into rage mode.... Is the basic summary.

This doesn't make any sense, whatsoever now.
Can someone please prove that the IGN footage is 720p?
Almost every gaming site don't give a fuck about the consumers. They will do or say anything just to get clicks. Arthur is the biggest troll in the business. I'm 99% positive he says stupid shit on purpose just to drive traffic.
PS4 has no games *reviews 20 games*
Can't tell difference between 720p/1080p *makes comments on differences when there wasn't any*
Hilarious.
No...you're not bothering to READ...lol...it actually seems that reviewers (if you believe the guy that did the Polygon review..not Goes)...played pre retail versions that were CORRECT...
but something went wrong with the retail version...
Though this doesn't explain where all of the 720p comparison videos came from

It never will, but if it ever came out that Activision actually did this intentionally because Microsoft paid them, I would think Sony would have something to say about it. It goes beyond just how this game performs, it can set an expectation of power across future multiplatform games.

http://misterxmedia.livejournal.com/I was talking about the wording =P
1. If you believe Activision, it's caused by a bug that was introduced in the final retail code.
2. Reviewers played non-final code.
3. It happens all the time.
4. They didn't specifically call out that it wasn't a retail version, but they did say it was reviewed on development hardware.
This is what we're all wondering. So where does the version in the videos in 720p come from?
Why 1080p is important: "Buzzword"
720p | 900p | 1080p
Why 60 frames is important: "Buzzword"
http://frames-per-second.appspot.com/
If you can't tell the difference in the first image... I suggest getting your eyes checked. You are missing out on clarity. :-(
If you can't tell the difference when adjusting frames... I think you're out of luck. :-( The rest of us can see the difference. Some of us can even tell the difference between 120 and 60 frames... Granted you need a proper display to check.

Scott Lowe is reporting on twitter that Activision gave reviewers a copy that played native 1080p; patch is for retail copies only. Shit don't make no sense.
There were people yesterday on that identified that something fishy was happening on the images that some reviewers were publishing of both versions (dark10x and Lord Error).
If anything this shows that journalists were telling the truth when they said they couldn't tell the difference.
The day one resolution patch that wasn't even a thing until JUST NOW?
That's right, but as Ign was unable to notice that in the video they published, the PS4 version was running at 720p I don't trust him.Or maybe he hasn't?

Of course they did this intentionally. Do you think they just found out after the reviews that they could double the number of pixels ? Really ? A small difference, some effects, yeah, but not that big. They basically destroyed the PS4 version there, not in what it looks (it's not that huge on screen), but in terms of what it computes. It runs at 50 % of what it can do in terms of pixels. But hey, day one patch my friends. Just after the reviews and shop demos. When it won't matter too much for Xbox sales.
They could have told the reviewers, don't you think it's strange they "forgot" to talk about that ?It's not like it wasn't important.
Only thing that saves us is a lot of publishers aren't as shitty as Activision with this kind of things.
makes sense to me, the consumer retail disks have code that is months old, Activision sent more recent code to reviewers, the retail disks have to be patched, the ones sent to reviewers don't
This is clearly all a plot by IW to bring down GAF. CoD: Ghosts was never meant to exist. It is the code name for a sinister operation to take us down. IW has grown weary of our incessant barking about their low quality games. Ghosts is without a doubt a covert attempt at dismantling the very foundation of GAF by feeding us confusing snippets of conflicting information until the servers spontaneously combust.
Their plan was so meticulous, they have even anticipated our premature scrutiny over the PS4 720p footage. They have successfully turned us against the very outlets and reviewers that we had once trusted and held dear. They have isolated us from each other, pitting us against each other in ridiculous fanboy fights. They have thrown us onto our backs, forcing us to call into question our very own eyes when discerning native vs. upscaled 1080p. We're already hysterical from the events of this week, and GAF continues to fluctuate in and out of service. We're on our last legs, and they have us right where they want us. Flawless. All according to keikaku.
If anything this shows that journalists were telling the truth when they said they couldn't tell the difference.
edit--nvm saw that the reviewers got 1080p unfinished build. But then how does that explain the ign video?
The footage and review are from different times and events?Seems plausible, but how do we explain the IGN footage then, which appears as 720p for PS4 as well?
So 720p is a bug?
