I think there will actually be way more content than in previous years. Especially with there being longer demos and not just a bunch of teaser trailers. It needs some actual surprises (well at least stuff we haven't seen before) to really generate some hype though.
Also, you didn't include the Double Fine announcement in the OP.

It's too late shinobi. I've ritualistically burned all my books and comics.
A new Rocksteady batman game would have me legit hyped. I'm hoping/expecting another massive step forward for the series like City did.
While I expect most AAA games releasing in the next 16 months to be cross gen this would still depress me a bit. I really wish we could just cast off these 512mb consoles forever. They held us back for most of the last 3 years already, don't make it even worse publishers.

The twitch website works on the PS4 browser. Looks like that's the only way we can watch the stream on the PS4.

Hah, you don't know Bioware then. Some of their devs have literally given false information on their forums before that turned out true in order to mislead lol. I still feel strongly that we'll get the first teaser.

Honestly I think the VGA announcements have been heavily impacted by game consolidation in general.
For example EA used to wheel out 8-10 big core games a year. This year they had like three. Most other publishers are similar.

If you look at the start of the that aaaaa post you can see he was saying "segaaaaaaaaa" etc.
He also mentions Outrun and Afterburner so I'm sure he was just talking about those 3D Sega classics games.
Possible, although they could compensate for that by looking beyond just the big publishers like EA and Activision. I'm sure there's a bunch of smaller developers/publishers that wouldn't mind the free publicity.
Also, a lot of the announcement trailers in the past were just some CG teaser thing anyway, so how showable the actual game is doesn't matter that much anyway

Are you talking specifically about EA or the industry in general? If the latter, I have to disagree Nirolak. You know just as much as I do there are countless unannounced projects that are in a showable state.

I would love it to be a new Rayman. I know Legends just came out, and they added more content to the game when it was delayed for seven months, but the majority of the game was finished around the Wii U launch, right? They could have had a team working on a new Rayman. : P
Well the VGAs only gets a fraction no?
They don't have nearly the reach of Game Informer or E3.
Like Ubisoft is there for example. How much would they feasibly have in terms of AAA ready that hasn't been shown. Far Cry 4? Maybe Ghost Recon?
Patriots seems to be in limbo, AC and Splinter Cell just came out. The Division, WD, and SP have all been shown.

Well, seeing Rayman Legends is coming out for PS4 and Xbone in early 2014, it could be a trailer for some exclusive next-gen content.

I think that Geoff has said that Patriots won't be there. My own speculation is that it's yet another Watch_Dogs demo.

Well sure, Ubisoft could have something up their sleeve. Geoff confirmed Patriots won't be there. We're handily due some solid info on Far Cry 4, so that seems like a strong possibility. I'd like to think Ubisoft has more than just 3 new IP coming into next gen, as we've seen with EA working on quite a handful of new IP.
I think we're all underestimating some of the new stuff we'll see. We were introduced to games like The Last of Us, Skyrim, Bioshock Infinite, Halo: Reach, MGSV: The Phantom Pain, and other stuff in the past. Plenty of devs with games in a showable state ready to shoot their load.
I agree so much with this, dear God, let's move on. This past gen outstayed its welcome.
