Uh what do trust more? Other gamers experiences and opinions or Digital Foundry? It is pretty simple. Shame there is no demo, but like I said earlier their impressions do not match my or many others experience.Shame Wii U versions has framerate issues as it looks good enough for me, was looking forward to getting it as I love the HUD-less screen with the gamepad.
Strange that impressions for the game were positive on the Wii U. Call me crazy but not sure what to do, if getting it on the Wii U or next year on my new rig.
I don't know if you are joking or not. If not: your TV most likely has contrast/gamma settings, use them.I wish the PS4 version can have as vibrant colors as the X1 version.
Regular ass MSAA sucks simply due to lack of alpha coverage. If you add support for that it's no longer MSAA, really.
I don't understand the popularity.
Some of the post process solutions (SMAA) can look quite nice without impacting performance. Even without a performance hit I wouldn't use MSAA.
Sgssaa, txaa, and ssaa are all superior, but slower, options.
Albert is one of the most amazing people I work with thats why I invited him on my podcast a few weeks ago. I jab him a bit about posting on GAF (fact: they would not approve my account of there) but hes smart and driven. Hes also right: We have some of smartest programmers in the world working on Xbox One. I am very much looking forward to the next few months (and beyond) as the truth comes out.

TXAA just doesn't look good in screenshot comparisons, which is how these comparisons are most often performed. That's not what it was designed for. In terms of image stability it's second only to supersampling.I have been really impressed with TXAA, some people find it blurry, maybe on a monitor, but on my tv it looks fantastic.
Of course, but few games implement anything like that on foliage so using MSAA produces awful results on such assets. I really dislike the way it looks most of the time.
To be fair, I play games on my plasma exclusively so most post solutions produce perfectly acceptable results due to both viewing distance and subpixel differences. Stuff like fxaa looks good on the Kuro but awful on my LCD monitor. MSAA does produce smooth lines, but if the game doesn't support any sort of alpha coverage then you end up with a lot of ugly foliage.
Agreed. Why can't PC gamers just shut up already? It's getting so annoying having them shit up every graphics thread saying that their platform is superior. NOBODY CARES OK? I wish it was bannable already.
/ontopic LMAO @ The XBone and WiiU. Magic upscaler doing it's work I see haha. Also good on DF for putting n-fans in their place and saying that WiiU isn't a next-gen console. They need to knock it off with that crap hahahaha
Damn, I had a 5870 three cards ago. MSAA still doesn't give me great performance in most games. I suppose most could deal with it, but I cannot stand the small drops it introduces for so little gain.2-4x msaa plus smaa is what I usually use. I'm on a 4 (over 4?) year old 5870 and that does a great job at very little performance loss. I would certainly use ssaa if I could though.

Yeesh Nintendo, forget about the WiiU being a cheap alternative for playing multiplats. Right now that's the PS3 or the 360. Also surprising that the XBO version both looks and performs worse than the PS4 version, the raw power gap is clearly being exacerbated by architectural flaws as well. The upscaler should not be degrading image quality to that degree.
Which is great, but most people bitch and moan about fxaa. Fxaa with MSAA works well, but MSAA on its own just isn't adequate for my tastes. The game applies FXAA to foliage on PC by default with MSAA settings.
I really don't appreciate the author sticking this inflammatory statement in at the end:
Console is not automatically inferior to PC graphics experience. It's becoming tiring going on internet gaming sites and seeing this statement almost as if to laugh at console people. I will not regret buying a PS4 and people shouldn't be trying to convert others to PC instead. I don't understand why he talks about PC being better value. It's almost like he has done no research into what powerful graphics Sony stuck into PS4 for $399.99:
I'm not trying to say that PC is worse/better than PS4, only an alternative.
I've only played about 30 minutes of the game, but it is immediately noticeable. The worst of it is around the main character when panning the camera, kind of like a shimmering aura that vanishes when the camera is still, and so is invisible from screenshots.
I've seen this only once before on Hitman Absolution on PS3. It did the exact same thing around agent 47, again noticeable in the very first level of the game.
What does a subpar port from Ubisoft have to do with Nintendo?Ok wiiu wtf
Wtf is nintendo doing
Seriously they shouldnt even try with this Social media PR they got until they fix thos god damn mess!
A 2 console industry IS BAD!

I like TXAA enough to limit my framerate to 30, though (consistency being key). Of course, that's the beauty of the PC; the user can decide what they like on a per game basis.
I think that's just a weird, relatively low quality motion blur effect they have going on, present in all next gen versions.
I wish the PS4 version can have as vibrant colors as the X1 version.
Though The PS4's version has less jaggies, which is more important to me.

The only hilarious bit is that there is a man on that distant boat in the Xbox One screen capture, yet that man is absent from all other versions.Hilarious.
I can't comment on the other versions but I will say the xb1 version is beautiful in person. It also has been a locked 30fps (it seems anyway).
Everyone is overreacting about a bunch of screenshots. The game looks and runs great.

Hmm. If I zoom in some more, it looks like an upside-down duck. Or a monkey. Yeah, most likely a monkey.
I´m glad to be a PC gamer when i see what MS and Sony have put on the market. My current machine is already like 5x times more powerful then the PS4 (I7 4770k, GTX 780, both OC), so i can play AC4 at 2560x1080 with max. details and antialiasing at >60 FPS. With the 20nm graphiccards next year the difference will be even greater.
Looks like a Penguin to me.

No performance at all more like itNever listen to Wii U fans in screen shot or hardware speculation threads.
Shit performance for the Wii U version?
I have not noticed any frame dips myself, other than when I was swarmed by guards when trying to complete a mission on a sugar plantation. Just that one mission though, and even then, it was completely playable no problem.I will say that it's a shame that the Wii U version has performance issues, because it actually looks pretty good. It seems pretty obvious that its version got the least attention.
XBone actually looks the worst here.
I'm confused. When I look at that image, I can only imagine the person that made it was trying to get a laugh out of people. So it's hard for me tot ell if this a serious post or joke trolling or...?It's almost like he has done no research into what powerful graphics Sony stuck into PS4 for $399.99:

How the fuck does Nintendo manage to release a console in 2012 that runs worse than consoles made in 2006. Graphics and CPU power to price ratio is as low as ever and any modern GPU will run circles round the garbage in the PS360.
